Here is the updated finals from last year and my first Cali 250 indo.
I got sick (ripped abdomen) and so did the girls with me. Spider mites and bud rot aka powdery mildew necessitated the throwing away of many buds. 1/3 perhaps. Well anyway t looks like I did under my photos pe@ce out htanks for all your help starting a blackberry bubba mother from a seed out of a dispensary

any 1 grow 250w vertical? ive looked thru the 1st 20 pages but theres to much to look thru it all! maybe there should be a 250w vert thread!
Also any 1 got 1 grm / watt growing soil ?

It was not close to 1g/w though, ended up with just over 100 grams.

big up and merry christmas to all the 250 hps growers! ive got a sunmaster dual spectrum 250 atm - not in the pic as i had removed the reflector to change the can filter - which allowed me to take a decent pic of the canopy. the two sidelights are little t5 UVB reptile tubes for extra frosting

verdants method can't be beat. i wish i could post my recent harvest pics but my main computer is fried. the 250 is a great wattage for personal. i think it definitely requires some scrog or LST.
I LST'ed my plants and ended up with about ten budsites per plant, each plant only had two or three massive colas...the other buds though were very grateful and responsive to the LST and ended up being pretty dense.
I grew my plants in FFOF (mixed w/vermiculite) with Tecnaflora's Recipe For Success 10 part starter kit. They were placed in my 22x36x64 grow tent and I used an HTG lamp with conversion bulb. after all was said and done, I dont know how much I ended up with but the wife and I smoked like fuckin' royalty for about a month (read as 'we smoked a fucking shitload'). The girls could have gained more mass if I had let em go longer, but the cross was a homemade strain (f13xSDOG) and started throwin nanners-had to cut around day 55.
Ohhh me, oh my, how rotten a trick...running out of bud with 10 weeks until I can cut anything down again. It sucks buying weed again---FUCKING BAD.
Anywho, I think the big trick for pulling a good yield with a 250 is filling your space to the max and gettin that lamp down on the girlies as low as ya can. Once again, I can't reccomend LST or some training/topping enough (forgot to mention I had topped my recent run pretty thoroughly too)...I feel bad when I see people growin a plant for 60-70 days and pulling a quarter or a half ounce (which has def happened to me a lot and hopefully ne'er shall again).

Check out my thread when in my sig. im Using a 250HPS and am about to add two reptile UVB bulbs as well. I have them lying here but need to figure out a way to secure them. anyways im hoping this harvest once completely filled will yield close to 1g/watt we will see, but next harvest ill be doing a perp. SOG so that def. should yield 1g/watt or OVER!

Check out my album for pics on a new run....Hello everyone. I have updated my stuff. Lined the walls, floor with Relfectix, and added a small cfl of 20w I believe thanks to my friend. So a 250HPS with 2x 48" flo's (both types of bulb in each one red aquarium per) and that new bulb. Might put another of my 48" in there, but heat is an issue. Have added a roll up shade to the front, mounted on the inside. Added two curtains that I nail in on the outside. Is it completely light proof? doubtful and I don't care. Didnt want to spend the $$ on Panda after everything else. Will probably build another wall of Panda with a zipper someday. Alley scored 2x awesome little fans upon cleanup and one sits on the top shelf of the closet and runs with the cycle. Growing 2x Frosty Purps (bag seed dispensary) , 1x Blackberry Bubba (bag seed dispensary) and 1x RomBerry (bag seed dispensary). It is what it is scoff all u want the BB might even be male sexing now. I love my sluts.

started 250w some months ago and made one grow and now running second.
Hehe I hope maybe some day I get buds similar to yours - dream . anyway just wanted to say I saw many great plants here that inspires me to work at 250w. great job here.

went scavenging on CL and scored an awesome deal!
found a 250w hps hydrofarm hood ballast
and ALL the extras: from ph/ec temp/humidity meters to whisper fan setup and 21 HID bulbs.
first thing, i junked the hood!
Hydrofarm uses quality ballasts!

Fellow 250 watter here. I pulled 4 1/2 zips off the last grow. Scrogged 4 Diesels and 1/4 oz of bubble for a treat. 250s are great if you just dial everthing in.

Ok I am about to start making a cab using a 250 watt HPS ballast in a cab I am still in the process of building but am having problems of the logistics of the cab and the specs.
First off the cabinet is an old chest that is 3' 4" in height, 1' 4.5" in depth and 1' 1.5" in depth. I was planning on making a cool tube from a pyrex bake a round tube, but am thinking that it might not fit in the space that I have after I connect the ducting and my D.I.Y. carbon filter. I cannot find the specs on the bake a round tube to figure out if I am going to have enough room to fit it all into the top of the cab with out having to install it in a diagonal position.
I was thinking about hanging the light bare bulbed, but am worried if the light will emit to much heat inside the cab once the door is closed. I really don't want to have to cut any of the intake and exhaust holes If the cool tube idea will not work. I am not able to cool with an A/C unit nor do I want too. That will arouse more attention than I am willing to risk, plus IMO I think it would be over kill and more head aches trying to exhaust an A/C unit inside a closet.
I plan on using 4" duct booster fans for my intake and exhaust because on the back of the cab there is a space that is about 6" in depth with the same height and width as the main cavity of the cab and planned on using that area to hide my ballast, power cords, intake and exhaust ducting, and also constructing a drying rack also so everything is out of sight and out of mind in case we have any unwanted visitors. Mind you this cab is strictly for flowering use only. I have another micro cab I will be using for my mother and clone box that I have already been using as a growth and flowering unit, but would like to start more of a perpetual garden.
I was thinking if I use a bigger duct booster for my exhaust and just use a bare bulb method with a fan directly across from the bulb too cool it and suck it out through my filter and out the back of the cab through the back cavity of the cab, but If I go with this method I could loose vertical growth and/or more yield than if I was to use a cool tube method.
This perpetual garden is strictly for personal use for 2 people. I am about 2 weeks from being able to put my clones in and start putting in a clone every 2 weeks so I am able to harvest one every 2 weeks. I have taken the specs and feel I can fit 4 plants inside at once comfortably and the breed I am growing that I have been growing for the past year now is an 8 week flower strain. I am about 1 week away from ordering the equipment that I need, and would like to get some feed back before I do order so I don't have to order things I will not need. As like many other personal growers I am on a budget and can't afford to order things I don't need so any and all feed back is wanted and needed so please help me out. Thank you in advance for any and all info you can provide me with.
