How is everybody today

I feel I need a break from smoking but find it difficult. It has been 6 years since I had a serious break (3 months) n I am a daily smoker...sometimes I start the day off with brekky cones n feel shit about it afterwards n other days I can hold out to the evening but find it hard to completely miss a day.

If any1 has some good ideas on helping me break my dependence or any moral support im all ears.

I only smoke cannabis straight n don't smoke cigs so it should be easy right! :gday:

my ownly success in not puffing even with my fibroymalgia blaa blaa blaa
You have to get the F outta dodge... go on a weekend trip to the country, or plan for a serious vacation

that's been the only way to kick the habit, don't bring any and for the first night you miss it but then it's a non issue

also i find that when i get back, if gone for a couple weeks that avoiding smoking the first or couple nights back is doable

after that you surcome to the desire, which is all it is. but the stresses of life i find help that desire along...

I hear ya I am not a heavy drinker or nicotine addict either but mj is good stuff

A few things that might help you out;

Stay busy. Keep yourself busy, if you get bored, your probably going to be thinking about lighting up.

In the evenings, after you've been busy all day and you want to relax (the hardest part in my opinion), just have a few beers or smoke a cigar. Your not supposed to inhale cigars, or at least I don't and I enjoy them thoroughly, so its not like smoking cigarettes. If you've never smoked cigars, you'll probably want to start out with a "Connecticut", its a mild cigar with a good flavor for a mild. Then I'd suggest anything by CAO or an "El Baton" (my favorite). Cigars are a horrible substitute for herb, but it will help address your need for flavorful and interesting smoke.

Chew gum. There is something about chewing gum that keeps my mind off of lighting up.

Exercise.

Your results may vary, but I've found a combination of these to work fairly well. Well, as best as can be expected.

Same shit here....I smoke before bed every day, because i suffer from insomnia. I exercise everyday at the gym and work 8-16, but I still cant sleep.

I had a 1 month break, but couldnt sleep at all, so my doc prescribed me some diazepam....and that shit was really bad. I was like a zombie. So I wont have another break anytime soon, I guess.
I get high as fuck and then just roll in my bed. In the morning Im full of energy and ready for the day.

Why Stop? I Wake n Bake with fresh ground Expresso as I test new strains. Then I start to seriuosly smoke. If my lungs feel to much I just take some Hash oil capsules. The World has determined that it is Safer if I'm Baked.. I agree. Good luck though

Like Sam said .. you should do other things to occupy your time.
I suggest exercise.... (start slow) It has helped me "cope" for many years now.(and probably improved my general health as well) I am not suggesting being a "Gym-Monkey".-Just a slow walk for at least a mile in the am. Endorphins can be very rewarding... dare i say as much as the intake of THC/CBDs here?

One thing i do is make a "deal" with myself. like 1 mile = 1 big ole BH, biscuit, beer, ciggy etc (no 2 for 1 coupons accepted!).... ;)

I used to think that way but then I realized something.
I am taking a break while I sleep right?
Granted I often will wake up and hit bongs halfway through the night.
Also think about those chumps who work and exercise.
That is time they could be smoking pot.

Why do you want to stop/take a break? I ask because I once stopped for seven years, just put the stuff down and walked away. I was soooo tired of being stoned all the time. I was smoking an eighth a day or more. I started smoking the herb again last year and it's just not the same. I really don't like it now like I used to. I smoke maybe a bowl or two every three or four days and that does me just fine. I will, however, be smoking till my eyes pop out tomorrow!

There is someone who will "Live-long and prosper." (ok maybe NOT!)

To the OP:
If you quit "cold-turkey" expect some rather vivid dreams. (JMHE) {E= experiance]

There exists only 2 reasonable explanations for not smoking weed (assuming you have a pair of lungs that still work):

1. you don't have any;

2. work/parole.

These would be my methods of quitting as well... get rid of every last stash that I might have, burn the phone, move to a foreign country where I didn't speak the language & never, ever interact with any other person that might 'know someone'. Maybe find a job that keeps me extremely busy... and likely start drinking & using harder drugs... become a total asshole to everyone... and go clock tower at some point. Think I'll stick w my weed.

I have noticed the same. If I take myself out of my usual surroundings with the work, stress and so on I find my desire to be high is greatly reduced.

Outside of that, I've only found jail to be effective. ;)

Also, for what it's worth, I only take occasional breaks from smoking to reduce my tolerance.

herb is addicting as fuck anyone who says other wise is just joking themselves....i associate with so many daily smokers and we all agree we are addicted...its too hard to shake the habit.

i told myself i was gonna take a break after i blew through my stash jars...well once the jars were empty i found myself hitting dispensaries..i cant stop smoking lol. im not that bad though, i have friends who need to smoke a blunt every few hours they will smoke an 8th-1/4th a day like its nothing....i usually go through a gram or two because i smoke in the bong..

i think im also addicted just to the act of icing up my bong, loading a nice fresh hit and one hitting that shit! ahhhhh gonna go rope my roor right now jsut thinkin about it lol...

the only time im able to stop smoking weed is when i go to japan, where its really illegal and costs 50 bucks a gram...but thats not to say we went searching one day with 50 bucks just to smoke a blunt lol...couldnt find any so we smoked k1 instead..
