Floranova + Ph up

THe Floranova Bloom I add to my water drops the Ph all the way down to 5.8. That might be OK for hydro but for soil? Other than the Floranova, I'm going organic and dont want to kill microbes so..

if I bubble the mix for a couple of days it gets alive and raises the Ph good for soil, but if I dont have time to aerate it, I've been adding Ph-up to get it around 6.3.

Question:Is adding Ph-up to artificially raise the Ph good or not-so-good for the micro-herds that are already in my soil? I've read where some people don't even check Ph for soil watering (apparently so the soil microbes sort it all out amongst themselves) and also a few out there that don't check Ph with Floranova because it has a 'buffer'. But that 'buffer' seems to be for hydro applications.

I grow in dirt....use Floranova & have a ph up made by Earth Juice, it's all natural & has never negativly affected my medium....

So my sugg. is to get some all natural ph adjuster....

i use FloraNova Gro & Bloom

I also use the standard PH Up to bring my PH back to 6.3-6.5
Never had a problem.

Now, when I first got FloraNova i wasn't checking my PH, and feeding the plants at 5.8 with the nutes was not a good idea. They locked up.

Go ahead with FloraNova & PH Up.. its all good

your soil might have all it needs to adjust the ph for optimal uptake. soil mixing companies add garden lime which neutralizes the ph. the beneficial microbes in your soil have a hand in adjusting ph as well. ph tends to rise in all mediums after time. try a silica product, it is beneficial for the plants and is a very powerful ph up. silica blast comes to mind.

What he said. mg75, great tip! I use Silica too, but I’d also mention that it cost a little more, for me at least, and depending on the water, nutes, etc, you need to be mindful that you don’t increase the Silica concentration too high to get within a desired PH range. if it's hot where you're at, it's worth the extra coin. My two cents. Good luck.

well luckily for me when i add flora nova bloom i get the exact same PH in my water every time which is perfect for soil 6.3-6.5.

youll be super fine just never use too much PH adjustments if you happen to keep screwing up at getting the right PH, if you think you put too much PH up or down in you most likely have and i wouldnt suggest feeding it to your plants.

not that you are doing this but its a good tip to know just to add as little as you can no matter how long it takes to get the perfect PH without having to adjust further because you mightve gone over or under a little.

guy's it's the runoff ph your worried about not the ph of your solution.......if your runoff in in line you will be fine........
