you can use it anytime BUT as it takes 3 applications over 9 days to before its fully effective I doubt it's a good idea late in flower

as with any foliar spay its for leaves not buds

I'll snag some along with a 'scope. It will be nice to have more options than neem and home made sprays.

I appreciate your advice. It is difficult to find someone to trust, who doesn't have ulterior motives. In regards to what we do... this is the only place to discuss MJ propagation freely.

Thanks again.

Nice job so far, too bad about the leaf miners though. I dont have any exp with them, but I might take some of the more damaged leaves off, i doubt your plant would miss them, and it might give them less to feed on or give you more of a chance to see if your plant is getting better once you start to treat it.
Also nice job on the mulch, it really has made a big dif. on my indoor garden this year, I would imagine outdoors even more so.
Good luck, Ive had some of my best and worst plants outdoors, but nature usually helps work things out eventually!

Thank you Krshna. The mulch has shown me a noticeable difference in moisture retention as well as growth due to the increased microbial life. It also helps to repel unwanted garden pests as I use eucalyptus. The underlayment of coco mats was just a thought I had to keep the mulch out of the substrate as well as aid in topdress application. When the roots started poking through the mats well, that was just a bonus.

Thinking its about time to harvest. This one will get the chop tonight/tomorrow.

I want to eat this plant as she smells so delicious. The citrus aroma makes me salivate every time I am near her.

Unfortunately, this will prevent me from doing so...

I noticed mold on some buds 5 or 6 days ago and removed the affected branch. A little disheartening (wish I had known this was an indoor strain)... whatcha gonna do?

Here's what I did...

E was LOADED with seed. Either from D or C. So, I took 8 seeds from her and planted them 6-27. This photo was taken yesterday. Lemonade anyone?

You sure about that? Today is day 70 in flower (pistils on 4/25). The lower buds are drying out and, most of the seeds are full term. All white pistils have retracted and the buds are not swelling.

Granted the buds are not huge but, she got a massive pollination. I didn't expect a large yield since her energy went into seed production. Then again, if the experts say I should keep going... she'll live another day.

Here's a short progression...

This is A on 5-23

3.5 weeks later (6-17)

Same girl close up with hand for comparison (5-17)

Another shot of her after 3 weeks (6-11)

This is E shortly into flower (5-4)

Here she is again a month later (6-1)

After another full month (7-1)

Here's my group of ladies on 5-2. G has not shown pre-flowers in this photo.

4 days later, after being transplanted (5-6)

After 11 days in their new pots (5-17)

Now a full month later (6-17). They have muscled E out of the pic.

Hope you've enjoyed the pics so far. I'm off to upload more.

Cloning pictorial

Cloning pictorial

Here's my first shot at taking & rooting cuttings...

Step 1 - Take cuttings

Step 2 - remove lower branches & dip in rooting powder

Step 3 - place in rooting medium

Step 4 - place under light & wait for roots

Step 5 - rinse root mass (if using moisture retaining rooting medium)

Step 6 - place in starting medium

Step 7 - set back under light & feed lightly

Step 8 - water/feed as needed & watch 'em grow

Total time from cutting to rooted clone = 11 days. (I could have potted them sooner but, as my name suggests, I tend to over-do things a bit.

Here's where they're at now...

Clone of A as of 7-11-11

Clone of B as of 7-11-11

Take this at face value. I am not an expert. This was my first attempt. I think it turned out well.

B & G cloning attempt

B & G cloning attempt

Here's my second attempt at cloning...

These are the materials I use.

This time I bubbled the water to get more oxygen to the stalks and facilitate root growth.

11 days later this is what I got.

I always heard you should take cuttings below the 4th node around 3" long. As I don't enjoy throwing away viable plant material, I took the left over branches and put 'em in the cloner. Why not right?

These are the results 11 days later.

Whether they grow (or not) is another story.

Here they all are on an 18/6. Best of luck my ladies.

My apologies for slacking on the pics. Hopefully, this makes up for the down time. I will try to give y'all regular updates as the days permit. The big girls will be getting glamor shots as soon as they are moved to their new living quarters.

if you're seeded, might as well let the seeds mature - the pods will split and the brown of the seeds become visible when ready

xmobotx Thanks for stopping in! I have thoroughly enjoyed your organic thread.

Glad you said that. I never chopped her since there doesn't seem to be any salvageable buds. She is HEAVILY seeded though... which is quite welcome.

I have sewn 8 seeds from her and all popped. In addition, two seeds must have fallen in the container, cause there are 2 seedlings in with the mother. I'd post a pic but, seem to have run out of space on this site.

Here is the last pic that I can post until I figure how to get more space on this site or, host from an external site.

This li'l guy didn't know when to jump off the tree.

See the tail sprout? Anyone have this happen before?

Cool huh? I planted that seed (and several others that popped on the plant) and the next day got a sprout above the soil. They all seem to be doing well.

Hope the canna fairies bless my crop this year. Best of luck & well wishes to all!

Oh... BTW, if anyone is interested, I found this link https://www.icmag.com/modules/Benefits/ during my search on photo limits. It'll probably help if I add some keywords...

pic FAQ, photo not loading, new member photo limits, how do I get more pic space, photo album full, can't upload pics

That should do it. Guess I gotta get my post count up to 50 before I can show you the big girls... Sorry fellas and ladies

Quick update...

All of the cuttings have rooted and are looking great! The first set of clones are getting big. Their moms are also packing on tremendous size.

B & G are both over 10' and bushing out well. Hoping I didn't wait too long to transplant and these girls can fill out their fabric pots before packing on the nuggs.

A has come out of reveg nicely. She's (I guess) in the 1st week of flower (again). Wondering if it would be a bad idea to repot now. She's in an 18gal right now at about 5' out of the pot and takes daily waterings.

E provided us with a load of seeds. I have popped several and am just waiting to see if they take after mom (i.e. quick finishers). Time will tell.

Peace & Love

I was looking for a good tutorial on pruning (as I have found some decaying leaves tucked deep in the foliage) and came across this one https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=115377&highlight=trimming+plants

It has some good info on training, complete with diagrams. So, if anyone doesn't venture to far from the "new growers" section it may be helpful.

What I am looking for is something a little more in depth as far as pruning goes. Perhaps on how much and what not to remove? I would like to improve the airflow & light to the budsites without stressing her too much.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Anybody?

I know that I should have been training & pruning all along but, I do want to see what these plants are capable of without too much of my interference. That being said, I still would like to harvest some viable buds.

In the morning (provided there's no guidance here) I'll just have at it.

Okay... so, I went to town and hacked away at this plant. There is still a lot of vegetation on her but, I do not want her to stress while she's in flower. Tomorrow, I'll take more fan leaves and, the next day & so on until I am satisfied that she's not trapping moisture in the foliage/buds.

I wish I could post a pic of what she looks like to get some pointers but, alas, I am out of storage. She is uber thick with single bladed fan leaves (re-veg) and older vegetation.

For those interested, she is the plant labeled as "A" only she has added more foliage. In post #27 she is the 1st four photos.
