Thanks so much for your input y'all. When I read "Sativa genes coming out" I read "let it go longer."

I figured I'd be harvesting around 62-65 days. Am I wrong? :0

60 days is rough estimate, each strain is a Lil~different
let the plant tell you when it's ready, when the leaves
around the buds turn yellow, and the hairs turn amber
your close, the rest is a preference thing, thats up to you.
I like 65 days myself, if I let mine go much longer it starts
to turn into sleeper weed, and who wants that ?

Again, "thats some good looking bud", your gonna have
some happy ass friends for sure, aloha and peace.

12.8 grams dried.. Probably 1/3 or 1/4 of the plant or so..

The rest will come down tomorrow, day 64, .. I'd like to let it go to 68 or maybe even 70, .. But I'm headed out soon, so then drying becomes an issue, etc..

The previously chopped 12.8g is sitting in jars, with the Caliber III hygros, as per Simon's thread. 66% RH.

Sounds like I wasn't too far off the mark, .5 oz for around 1/3-1/4 of the plant is 1.5-2 oz for the whole harvest

Just sampled a barely-cured (12 hours?) nug. Smoke was smooth, definitely had a sweet hint to it.. I'm really excited to see how the flavor and smoke tunes up with a cure.

Very very pleasant.



Edit: Actually, it just started curing today, around 6 hours ago.

Edit 2.0: Meant to confess it's definitely still more greeny than tasty and stinky, but I'm really stoked for these hygros.

woooooooooowww!!! those are purdy! and to think a few days ago you were all like "meh"

i need to invest in a few of those small hygrometers to do a simonesque cure on my next harvest. i'm in a similar pickle where i'm leaving town right around harvest. i know my widow should be finished around day 70, which gives me a week to dry it and get it into jars before i take off. i'm just hoping the blue dream finishes as quick or hopefully even earlier so i won't have to take her down early.

i can't wait to see how that headband turns out! i love getting a well cured bag of headband and it's that really pretty golden color throughout.

Chopped the rest of'er today, day 64. I'm hoping for about a zip out of her, .. Lessee.

These hygrometers are frickin' AWESOME. It's very cool (and helpful) to know what's going on in that jar, .. (That's how I cure, anyway. I know some folks use bags/combinations of bags, etc.. That's just how I skin the cat, in a jar).

I actually bought two, one for me and one to give to a buddy..

But now, I think that he'll just be getting a used one..

(I think it's probably ideal to have one for each jar, .. But I also don't want to spend $20/jar to cure, .. So, I'm of the mindset that what's going on in one jar RH-wise is probably a good indicator of what's going on in the rest, +/- 2%..)

Funny story. I just got back from another out-of-town weekend. The [non-smoking] ladyfriend was tending to the gals.. One day, she went to her folks house after doing the gardening stuff over here.. She said she got there, and the first thing her mom said was "Holy shit, you STINK!"

Girlfriend said "After my mom said that, I smelled my arms, and both of my forearms just stunk, and some spots were all sticky."



It's actually a sweeter smell, a little more tame (less stinky) than the Blue Dragon, .. But the last batch of this I smoked (same mom), I remember it tasting awesomely earthy and musky..

Here's a little nerg I chopped from the way-underneath last night, at day 58. Couldn't wait! I'm thinking I'll fell her on Sunday, which would be day 64..

Check out the pinkish/reddish/purplish hues on her..

i had that realization once upon a time, after walking into a BBQ joint in a dodgy part of town and seeing four county sheriffs sitting there. they all stopped talking and looked right at me. gave a nod and half smile, met their eyes for a couple seconds so i didn't seem too eager to avoid them, then turned around as it occurred to me that i had been trimming my shit for six hours in a black sweatshirt. shoulda seen inside my head as i stood there in line wondering how many little pieces of trich-covered cherry haze was stuck to the back of my shirt, making the cops turn their gears... took a lifetime to get my order and non-challantly walk out of there lol

Total yield on the Blue Dragon was 38.2g .. Took 12.8 g on day 60, the rest on day 64..

I'm liking the day 60 stuff better, mostly because it cured MUCH better. The second pick stuff got WAY too dry in the jars (that's the price I pay for leaving town during curing, leaving the nonsmoking ladyfriend in charge). 45% RH. No sexy sticky, not much stink until you break 'em up.

Too bad I already cheifed the first 12.8 grams. Oops.

that's sad about the other stuff. my widow from my first grow is the same way. can't really get its cure on once it gets too dry.

i ended up making hash from most of it

this time around i'm gonna try simon's perfect cure method. i've got a couple of those cute little caliber iii hygrometers en route.
