What's new

~25 200gal smartie coco grow, woah.

They never burn for me Yesprop215. The biggest difference I notice between amended and non is in early veg. Plants in amended just take off like no other. It doesn't seem like they burn any easier or anything. I usually feed light in early veg, and really start ramping it up after a few weeks. By the time they hit 1gal's they're getting full strength veg formula. Only when they're in 4x4's or 6x6's do they get a "light" feed.

Yeoman - I'm jealous. Hucking these from the Uhaul to a pickup...then down the side of a hill is a PITA to say the least. Fortunately I've a few helpers. I'm sore as fuck...and the work isn't even half done!

Todays progress:

Got 7 bags in and filled. Looks like 18 more to go. Hopefully we'll have it pretty wrapped up tomorrow evening.

Wish I woulda had the plot a month or two ago, all this would have been done and the girls would just be chillin...along w/ me.

It's all coming together now

Was really cool, a bald eagle came in...and the local red tailed hawks all teamed up and chased it away. This was all over the course of about 5 minutes of aerial battle. A few of the hawks totally got pinched mid-air. Really cool to watch.

It's sort of hard to gauge from the pictures...but the grow is situated on one great big downslope. Close to 45 degrees.

Again different angle
The craters are getting filled in..neighbor/previous occupant used em to grow in apparently or something. They've nothing to do w/ this grow.

Cheers pals

Camo bags are mine, 200 gal Coco. Spaced about 12.5' apart..it was eyeballed according to how much space was there. Tan's are 100's w/ mix that was hauled in. They're a friends.

Thanks for the kind words Mcdank.

Anyone else using Basement Mix this year notice it's pretty dam fresh? (In a not good way)
My pallets were more moist than usual and didn't smell the greatest...must be having trouble keeping up w/ demand this year?
I heard the same from a friend.

Hopefully it doesn't cause problems...

csedge

we get them wet on top of the plastic and and sometimes odd smelling also. i thunk the odd smell is from the heat and its wet from being stored outside then the water slips under the plastic and never fully evaporates...

good looking grow brotha!

what up green fields? got family in sonoma- nice place. i'm glad someone else is using a bunch of coco on their od this year, i won't be the only one hahah. ive got some used canna coco and 2per i wanted to use up , i'm just doing a few #65's with clones. i think i'm gonna use 2cf of ss#4 natural/organic and split the other 5cf with 1/2 my recycled and 1/2 basement. i've seen basement 100's of times but never looked close enough i guess cuz it sounds like exactly what i want. if my girls recover from the wind welcome they got 2 nites ago, there's a couple leafs left baaahahahhahah:noway:

Awww shucks, y'all are too kind.

Yeah I'd just toss some good soil in there to make your own homemade basement mix max.
I've got a big ol' pile of used shit too..I'll be building raised beds at the base of the hill come end of season...gonna dump all the pots into it aswell as truck up all my other used stuff. Cheers brudda

All the bags are filled and ready to accept plants. Just gotta get some more water holding capacity. Gonna spray the girls down w/ safer (sulfur) to polish off the good ol' powdery mildew...toss em in a truck and bring em up.

The next round of pics will have plants and the plot in the same photo!

Top of the ol' hat to all

is your screen name in relation to the roots organics green fields line? we are doing a few of those this year alongside the fox farms mix for a side by side..

YesProp - No relation to the line, matter of fact I'd never known of such a thing until the other day when you mentioned it. Hopefully they blow away the competition, that's certainly my intent. :moon: :)

Hopefully amended coco works out for your indoor situation.

Vorzh - You're far too gracious. Kings shall take a knee in your presence. I am but a mere peasant. :blowbubbles:

Next came the water tanks...we already had a 1500gal onsite...but I'm not all that fond of it. I'm into a more modular style. So 10 x 275gal's it is. Here they are all filled and ready to rock.
attachment.php

And that's basically a recount of my stressfull ass day.

Tomorrow the rest of the ladies will be in, will mix up the first 275 w/ nutes...gotta get the hose setup straight.

After that it's smooth sailing til the onset of flower.

Cheers e'rbody. Thanks for swingin in

WOW

WOW

CRAZY :) Those water tanks are nuts,lol.. I have never seen anything like it,lol.... I mean wow. how the hell are you gonna fill them when empty? Or is it one seasons of estimated water? However, GL .

They're only 275 gallons. They're light...one guy can drag em around empty...two can heave em up and down.

Basically it works like this:
1st we fill the bottom row of tanks, then cap em. Then we stack the next row on top. Fill those and voila.
We'll start using the top ones first..then work our way through the bottom ones.
When an upper runs out, we take it off and set it aside.

No it's not even close to a full seasons worth of water. I'm guessing that when they reach full size...I'll go through 1 tank every day or two.

We pay a watertruck to come deliver agua. A few of the other cats nearby drain watersheds...I'm not down w/ that. That kinda shit's for walmart's and evil factories.

I went w/ the small ones for several reasons. First I hate to have to hire someone to haul my big ass reservoir...I wanna beable to rent a Uhaul and do it myself.

Second I'll beable to mix 275gal nute batches at a time...rather than running from my water rez to a mixing rez to plants.

Third I hate those bigass reservoirs. They look really cool from the sky I hear, and they're a total LEO magnet. Plus the county kind of hates em...dunno why, but they're dbags about em.

Cheers

Those 275gal rezis are awesome. Copped 2 yesterday off craiglist had them delivered. $250 for both, awesome deal considering 2 of the 55gal drums that hydrofarm sells also come out to $250 :p.

These things are all over craiglists and many random suppliers have them as well. A couple of these things and a good drip irrigiation system and you should be on easy street for a HWHILE. Yes, a Hwhile :p (in stewey voice)

Yeah, 1 full watering each :D

I got mine @ $95 a piece. Granted I picked em up myself..and bought ten at a time. $250 is legit considering what you're getting.
Got the 2" adapted down to a garden hose. Was originally gonna use a 2" firehose...but the gaskets on the swivel leaked (must be designed for pressure)

I'll pop in some updates in a bitty

Alas, the ladies are all in! :dance013:

They got a nice fat drink of water...drained close to a jug and a half (~325 gal's)

I must say, I really enjoy mixing large vat's of nutrients. I'm officially over 60 gallon reservoirs. Big shit poppin..
attachment.php

The girl pictured is OG kush. They must be extra susceptible to Powdery White...cuz of all the plants, the 3 OG's got it pretty bad. They were in different spots too (not all grouped together..so it's not an orientation related thing).

Honestly I don't much care for the OG anyways..the root system pisses me off..not very robust...

Anywho, enough slandering of the OG (5 bucks says she ends up the biggest and tastiest of all)

...on with the show!

A couple shots from atop the reservoirs

:jump::jump::jump:

Drumroll please....

I'm afraid I was born into this world with a scribble-face...it's this hyper-rare disease where my face is a 2 dimensional scribble functioning in 3d space. It has scientists and LEO puzzled alike!

attachment.php

Call me crazy, but I think there's some sort of correlation between scribble/eraser face...and cannabis growers. I'd venture to say we're predisposed to this line of work.

Anyways the girls are in, fed and happy. Today a few drooped..was hot and they'd just been transplanted...other than that all looks well.

Gonna take a day to lounge, then hittin em w/ sulfur spray and some biocontrol to get rid of the PM.

It's a happy day on the hill!
Feel free to celebrate..myself, I'll be sleeping!

gravity fed terraced garden, beautiful

Aww thanks.

Wait til you see what I have up my sleeve for next year :artist:
Gonna stake in a few retaining walls in "step" fashion.
Like the bottom set of pots will be one flat raised bed...
Second set will be the next etc.

Maybe eventually the whole parcel will be like 8 giant steps...

That way I have somewhere to put all this coco after I'm done. Down the hill and up to the edge of the wall.

Cheers Mcdank, really appreciate the kind words:tiphat:
