Whats been your experience with fem seeds?

So for my next grow I am going to start from seed. Feminized seeds to be exact. I came across this article tinyurl<dot>com/6hmsb46 and was wondering how much truth there is to this statement.

why the plants are more likely to turn males
Also would like to know which of these three would you grow first;

Tropical Ice
8 Ball Kush
Super Bud
White Skunk
Big Band
BCN Diesel
Arjans Haze

Thank you!

personally i cant fault them, had a few nanners cos i turn lights on and off to work with then but its bound to happen, my fault not the seeds. even with the stress they have never fully hermied.

Not a bad thing if you were just going to kill the males anyway. I just don't touch them anymore because I like breeding my own crosses and f2s.

The statement is doo-doo Newcs. Ive been growing fems since 2001 and ive grown dozens of packs from quite a few companies. I know them inside and out.

first, there is a significant difference between their perfomance indoors and out. Outdoors they are considerably more stable and consistent than regular seeds by a long shot. As an outdoor grower, with a pack of regular seeds its easy to get 4-5 phenos which sucks. I want a consistent product: if i grow 20 plants i want 20 plants of the same shit. Fem seeds provide that.. Just like with all cannabis seeds, indoor growing always produces more hermie types. Lighting, heat, rootbinding will effect femmed seeds as quick as it does regular seeds.

Finally, i would avoid femmed seeds from companies that have only done them for a year or 2. They didnt make femmed seeds generally becasue they hold some ideological hocus pocus about purity and "natural", but market demand forced their hand and they had to make them, but their heart isnt in it and their seed suck. Sensi fems arent worth buying, nor are sagmartha's.

choose them from one of the compaines that have been making them for a while or, there are some companies such as paradise seeds that have a history of superior quality, regaurdless of the seed they take great pains to insure quality.

Like with all genetics do your research. But I can tell you that I am a big believer in fems now and I look for fems first when looking for specific genetics. A few months ago I flowered out 5 super lemon haze fems and 9 regular ak47 plants looking for as mother. Sometime around 35-40 days my fan broke so I put a new fan in the room. Well a few days later I started seeing nanners on some of the ak's and I thought "what the fuck". Long story short I forgot to tape the fan up and it had a very bright display pad. The light was untaped for 7-10 days. One of the Super Lemon Haze plants was closet to the fan and had leafs touching the light display and not a single nanner on any of the Super Lemon Haze's. Right now I am growing out the clones of the aks and I am past 45 days and not a nanner on this bunch so I am sure the light was the cause. I wish there were more quality fem genetic strains on the market.

Funny you should ask this. I just today received an email from sen*i Seeds as I purchased a pack of 5 feminized jack flash#5 seeds and put 3 in and 2 males?? I was always told they have great customer service so I thought I would let them know.
Here is a copy of both emails:

Dear customer,

Thank you for your email.

In order to be able to address your request properly we would absolutely need to be provided with a proof of purchase of our products.
Would you therefore be kind enough to send us a scan or a photography of your receipt?

We hope we have provided you with sufficient information and we look forward to your response.

Warmest regards,

So I got in touch with the seed bank used to get seeds and they sent me a copy of th receipt which I sent them and got this reply:

Dear customer,

Thank you for your email.

We are very sorry and extremely confused about this issue. Would you please be kind enough to provide us with the following information?
• Photos of your male plants;
• The number indented in the cardboard backing where the blister is inserted –you can see this number when inclining the package under a light source- ?

We hope we can resolve this issue as quickly as possible and look forward to your reply,

Warmest regards,

Are they fookin serious?? pics of the males?? I chucked them as soon as I identified them I bought Femmed seeds for a reason?? I can firmly say will not be touching their femmed seeds with a barge pole!!!

Good god, there are already 239,317 threads on this subject. Here's the short version of the oft-repeated answer: female seeds grow female plants. End of story.

I think you should say "female seeds grow Hermies, Male and female plants" as this is fact.

ive had a few hermies so i stopped buying fem seeds jsut because i wanna keep some males around for breeding purposes and stuff but besides mayb the 3 hermies i had in the past 3 years they are ok if you are just starting to grow just to know exacly what a female looks like and all that but you know they say if you use good genetics to make your female seeds youll be alright but i just stopped purchasing fems not interested in them any more rather buy more regular seeds for less price just my opinion

Maybe in your experience, but not mine. I've never had a female seed develop into anything but a female plant. Given peoples' feedback, though, perhaps a better thread title would be "Whose Female Seeds are Unreliable?"

Sensi Seed fems are illegitimate speedemon. Pure rip off bullshit. Sagmartha's are the same. If you buy them, youve been screwed.

Sensi fems are ustable and full of hermies and males. They havent tested the first seed- theyre pure bullshit - and every fem seed they sell was developed by folks with no experience at all. The seeds suck and constute blatent fraud.

Gypsy and others shouldnt be participating in the scam by selling these fraudulent seeds: There is nothing legitimate about them, they are pure fraud. If you buy them you have been cheated, plain and simple.

they give mpe wonderful weed but always develop nanners much easier quicker then regular strains

and i know i know growing conditions blablabla , that doesnt change teh fact that my regular seeds almost never hermie

What strains. i think a thread like this is good to get the bad names out. I think we can agree Sensi and DP are crap. So if breeders and strains can be discussed it makes things easier for people.
