So I'm Trying a SCROG.....

Yo Mellow, I was thinkin that some time around the 4th of July to chop,depending on the trichs. I looked at them today and they are a long way from amber, not really cloudy yet. The plant on the left will go a good 65 days, its the one I've grown the most not sure about the Frosted Flake, it doesn't seem to be as far along .But then I haven't grown it personally, but have worked with a buddy, but under totally different conditions HPS 3K VRS my CFL's.
Any way its a great hobby for an old retired dude.

Nice grow my man, im getting ready for my first scrog myself. And im with you with the CFL's, i used them before getting my LED's and will use them to veg clones and keep mom's. I used a mixed spectrum when i flowered with the CFL's and really got a great yield. It was my first indoor grow too so hell yeah the CFL's work great to grow with. Just need to peep at yours, lol.


I have about a week or so before i start looking for a screen, but i will sure enjoy watching this one till mine gets big enough to start my thread. Im glad i caught it now.

Hey LetsSeeYa, I do like y CFLs' but Im sorta waiting to see if the LED price is ever going to come down a tad. I'd like to get an LED set up, but then I might have to build a second box and try to get a perpetual grow going. I'm totally happy with the way my first scrog's turning out.

Hey man i really like my LED's, but looks like your doing pretty good with what ya got there. But then again we all try and step it up after a few grows. I really like mine, but my first grow told me that going scrog would be my best method. This way the lights are all penetrating right to the buds and give me the best result.

But you will get there and in the mean time you can nail down the scrog to a tee.

Well both are grow bar's, which are 150w so running the both from what iv read is equal to a 600hps. Not sure this is true, but the guy that i got them from grows huge. They are pricey at $450.00 for each, but you can find cheaper ones.

Big test today as iv only been running one light in the tent, which temps where fine, but got tired of waiting so i flipped the other set. I need some ventilation and a scrubber, but ran outta cash. So il look at the temps today and see if it was a good idea or not. I will post some pic's later today so you can check em out.

I will start my thread in a few days too

So it's day 56 of 12/12, the buds are swelling nicely. I like the way they swell at a rate you can almost see it day to day.Trichs are getting cloudy but no amber yet, so a couple more weeks perhaps. here's the update pics enjoy.

Wow i hope i can get something close to what ya have going on in here. The last pic looks like a bunch of pine trees from 100 miles away just towering around a mountain.

Good Morning Canna, Thanks for stopping by. Things are looking good. I'm toying with cutting the scrog screen, the strings ate just hemp twine, I thought that was a fitting twine to use in a scrog.

What do you mean about the twine, i was going to use it to make a screen? Just not getting what ya said, lol.

Looks like he made the PVC frame for the screen, drilled holes thru it, then laced twine thru the holes to make a screen.

Would kinda make harvest a bit easier, just cut the string and pull it out. Using a metal screen like I do you have to get under the screen and pull the bud over to the middle of the hole and down out of the screen. Sometimes it's hard to tell which side of the wire the bud is on.

The down fall I see, would be lacing a new screen every harvest.

Canna and LSY Yeah, I made a frame out of PVC drilled hole etc. I cut the twine this morning and I do get to look forward to restringing it but what the heck, not like I have a lot of other stuff to do. Also after cutting the string and pulling them out. It seems to me an easier way to unscrog than having to pull the buds back through a wire mesh or having to cut every bud or cola off individually to dry. This way I can still hang the whole plant.

I also forgot to mention that yesterday was the start of using plain water to flush. Not that the fertilizer I've been using is very stout as nutes go. Still nice to flush out what you can, plus gets the plants to self consume and thus be smoother smoking.
