What's with this?

What's with this?

Blue Dragon (Dream?) is in the home stretch.. Day 50 today.

She's yellowing out nicely, but this afternoon, I noticed what looks to be some rot on a couple of the yellowing leaves:

Anything to be concerned about? Is this screaming PROBLEM! to anyone?

Humidity is around 38-40%.. That's with the dehuey running right outside the tent and the exhaust at full bore 24 hrs a day.

New addition!

New addition!

Group shot:

Far back left corner: Purple Diesel, ~ 5 weeks

Front left corner: Blue Dragon (?), ~ 7 weeks

Center: Green Candy, ~5 weeks

Far back right corner: AK-47, ~3 weeks

Front and center: Headband! DAY ONE! (Zero?)

..Here's the leggy, lanky Headband up closeish:

Might be tossing in a Purple Mr. Nice cutting (SOG stylee) in the next day or so.. That will likely conclude the programming 'til the fall.

Haha MisRead the temps... That sucks.

I've done that, but hey... At least you didn't leave one of the prongs up on your timer and kick your lights on for 15 minutes in the dark cycle...

Or, at least you didn't accidentally take a 600W home instead of a 1000W and run it for 2 weeks before noticing...

How you been Mang? That Ak is looking gnarly for three weeks.

I'll be watching that HeadBand... have you grown it out before?

Great to see you around these parts! (And great to see you back PERIOD!)

It's funny, the bumblings we make. I chalk most of it up to MOVING TOO FAST. :joint:

I've not grown the Headband out - my buddy says it's "Lanky and stanky." ..Which I'm sure the [non-smoking] girlfriend will love, since the house smells like a giant skunk's asshole as it is.

I DID smoke some of my buddy's last harvest of Headband, and HO. LY. STONED. Very in-your-face-HEY-YOU'RE-STONED-ASSHOLE! :D GREAT nighttime smoke, great when you want to get stoned, and not up, or "buzzed."

I'm REALLY excited for it.

Also had a chance to smoke some of the Purple Mr. Nice last weekend, .. Another lovely smoke! Very earthy, almost musky, scent and taste.. Good solid smoke. I'm actually a little bummed that I don't have a bigger, bushier cut to throw in. I'll have to make do with the SOG-style cut I've got..

(Judging from the way the AK has taken off, the SOG deal might just scratch my itch).

It's bedtime right now (shhhh, don't wake 'em), but tomorrow I'll post some shots of the Purple Diesel & the Green Candy.

Both look amazing - almost like they're ready to pick now! Hairs are changin' like nobody's biz, but they're definitely not done swelling. They're about 3 weeks out.

The Blue Dragon/Dream (?) just won't hurry the heck up. Today is day 52.. She's got a good number of little foxtail new flowers on her, big tall white pistils on 'em.. Before I left town a few weeks ago, everyone got a top dressing of EWC and high P guano.. (That way, I could tell the ladyfriend "just water. Just plain ol' water.") :D

I feel like that N from the EWC may have given the BD one last push.. ..Which is kind of ironic, since day 60 is on 6-22, and I've got to boogie out of town for a few days at the end of the month, .. I really need this fucker to hurry up and finish, so's I can get her dried before I head out. :D (Drying + curing = needs to be in competent hands, IMO and IME)

Nice stuff going on here silver. That head band looks like my Sour Diesel. But then I guess they are family. I've had 707, but not the original diesel HB which is I guess what you have? I thought the 707 tasted and looked like my SD too.

Great strains and budshots too.

Thanks Hazy!

I'll be honest - I'm not sure WHICH Headband I have, .. It came from the Chico area, if that's of any help. (Not to me - I'm a Great Lakes guy :) )

Strains (except for the AK-47) came from a great friend of mine, who's in a bit of hot water at the moment.. Got to party with him a few weeks ago, and that may be the last I'll see him for some time.. *sigh*

Excuse me while I go dump out this 22oz Sierra Nevada in his memory.. ;)

But, for real, .. A fellow IC'er snatched up. *grumble*

Green Candy, week 5

Green Candy, week 5

The pistils on this thing have been changing like crazy.. Trichs still look clear (as best I can tell with a 45x loupe - I hate those fucking things..Makes me feel like last year's eye surgery was a waste)..

I've heard some folks claim it's a 45 day plant, others claim it's a 60.. I'm hoping it's a 60, because it seems like it's got some swelling yet to do.. But, those pistils..

Purple Diesel, week 5

Same case as the Green Candy.. The pistils seem like they're really taking off (in terms of changing), but the plant's got some swellin' yet to do..

She was put in the oven the same day as the Green Candy..

I'm slightly perplexed.

I'm slightly perplexed.

Let me just ask y'all very plainly, since this is what's been in my brain since taking these photos:

Do these look like plants that still have ~ 3 weeks to go?! Maybe I'm just antsy, but they look a lot further along than 5 weeks.. Errr, a lot closer to DONE than 3 weeks left..

Trust me, you will get a HELL of a lot more potency and yield if you wait those extra 3 weeks.

If you have to try it for yourself, take a single bud this week, and dry it, another next week, and the rest of the plant when your getting a little bit of amber in the trichomes, Then you will know what stage you like it best.

Agreed. I'm really surprised, though, at the appearance of the pistils on the 5-week-old PD and GC, versus the 7-week-old BD.

Good stuff Canni - thanks for weighing in! :thank you:

I agree with Canniwhatsis

I wouldn't take em any earlier than mostly cloudy. Clear is a letdown if you're recreating. Some of these early strains need some amber to give a better kick. Just depends on preference. My green crack cross is cloudy and toasty at 49 days. Not a strong buzz though. 65 makes a big difference.

Your plants are looking great. Nice, dense and dank. Keep it green.

Thanks Disco! It's funny, I've been focusing my visual/"is-it-done-yet?!" attention on the Blue Dragon, since she's the eldest..

Over the past couple days, I've been getting more up-close and personal with the others (trying to be more diligent in the fight against critters & fungii), .. And every time I yank one of those two out, I look at 'em and think "Damn. Looking small, but damn-near done?! That's not right. But is it?!"

:thank you:

You know more than I can tell from the picks. Go with your judgement. If you have something special that finishes early I'd hang onto it, even if you have to root a small bud/stem. Have you sampled a taste?

It doesn't look like 3 more weeks to me, but there are mixed signals. The pistils are browning rapidly, but they do look like the should swell quit a bit more and the trics are presumably clear. Maybe the heat has messed with them a bit.

While it's the simplest solution/answer to my questions, I haven't. I feel like it's breaking my discipline to just waitwaitwait. :)

Perhaps I'll trim one tonight, let'er dry, and see what we get. :)

:thank you:
