Get that shit done and over with so you can feel good everyday.I have such vivid memories of all the pain and suffering during my first 3 years of life.I got healthy after surgery.
I hope you are not going thru what I did.Still haunts me 47 years later.
Tonsils suck.Stock up on ice cream for post op
Glad you have a doc that wants to do the surgery.

Had the same problem when I was 16, got them taken out. Other than being in the 2% of people that bleed for a couple days after, puking blood and blood clots and pain, it was totally worth it!

I would say it depends how often u get the infection... at one stage I got it about twice a year for a few years.. Now I havent had it in 6 years. Its a personal choice but you dont just remove shit because it became infected.

Get a 2nd opinion ;) Good luck.. I know it sucks!

Just get it over and done with. Sit back and relax while the pain meds make you stupid and you drool blood for a day or two. Don't bite anything, cause it could be your tongue.
The longer you wait, the worse it will be to get it done.

Tonsils provide an early warning sign that something elsewhere (inside your body) is out of wellness (balance). Best t keep them!

Google Curezone. You should find probable causes, and the best natural way to deal with it.

One thing most everyone is short on is probiotic balance in the gut. The gut makes up >80% of your ENTIRE immune system. Start there.

I take a product from Vitality Science called Pet Flora (also my UN). It is a human grade, soil-based probiotic. They package it for pets. Our digestive systems are quite similar.

Dudess.. All the Ice Cream you can eat! Course, your throat will be too sore to eat anything but, it's the idea that counts.

God luck.

Aww man, sorry to hear that Anita.
:2cents: I got strep a lot as a kid, (they said I was a "carrier"), my tonsils were/are huge; but, I never had them removed.
I eventually seemed to kinda "outgrow" it after college...I just don't get strep like I used to...Perhaps you will too? *fingers crossed*
On the other hand, it's awfully being sick all the time, and it's a fairly common procedure, so I wouldn't blame you if you just had them removed.
(I probably would have, were I to do things over again, and if I hadn't been making the decision as a scared kid, lol.)

Whatever you decide, I hope you feel better soon!! :)
Best wishes, Anita!!

Get them buggers yanked.
I was tormented in my early childhood with ear nose and throat problems, when I was 8 I had my tonsils and adinoids out and gromits put in and most of my troubles came to an end. In the UK tonsilectomy used to be a standard procedure that all kids had. Maggie Thatchers NHS would have left me to go deaf(I was 6 months away from irreversible damage and 2 years down a waiting list) and its only because my folks paid silly money(which they couldn't really afford) for a 20 minute consultation with a private specialist in his massive house, that I can hear at all.
Get em out dude..you'll be so much happier without. Jusdt dont belive the bullshit ppl tell you about eating jelly and ice cream for 2 weeks afterwards--dry toast and cereal with not much milk-thats what i had to have to shift all the krud off after the surgery

I thought I would get good information here and I was right!
Thanks a lot for your opinions, you made this a much easier decision for me.
For those who had a tonsillectomy, did it stop the swelling of glands throughout the whole body?
