5gal bucket?

I'm still not sure as to what to do about adding KB in the final phases. I am at week 7 of flower with a SCROG Sour Diesel grow. I am on a 2x4 ebb and flow table in hydroton. Ive read differing opinions on the timing of introducing the KB and for how long to use before the final 2 week flush. Also, do you reduce the amount of MB in the recipe when the KB is added? For example: 1/2 tsp/gal MB and 1/2 tsp/gal KB. I'm planning on a rez change at the same time I add the KB, would it be wrong or ok to just add KB to the rez instead of a change? Being in ebb and flow should I only run the KB for a few days as opposed to the 2 week run Ive read about other people doing? Finally is the KB even neccesary? These nugs are amazing already with just the MB!

Thoughts on this....?

The way I do it is; I add 1/2 tsp per gal of powder KB along with 1 tsp/gal of Maxibloom for the last 4 to 7 days before the pre harvest two week plain water flush. I do not reduce the amount of Maxibloom.
Some plants can take the PKB longer than others, that why I say 4 to 7 days.
Mind you, I run coco drip to waste.
No PK booster is absolutely necessary, but I do notice a slight fattening of the buds.

Your results may vary :)

Thanks Evl!! With that being said, and after reading that the KB is powerful stuff. What would an over-dose of KB look like? How quick would I possibly see an over-fert and what would it look like? Sorry for all the questions but I'm gonna do this right and be prepared....

I imagine an overdose would show up first as pronounced burned leaf tips and edges.
By the last day of boosting I can notice slightly more tip burn. That's when I know to stop.
Mind you, what I'm saying is not Bible, it's the way I have found to work best for me.
I would start with 1/4 tsp/gal of the PKB (powder kool bloom) in addition to the Maxibloom and take it from there.

I posted this question in its own thread but didnt get any responses so I figured i'd give a shot in here.

Is molasses with lucas (maxibloom) worth it? I like to feed molasses every few waterings during veg and flower but now I'm second guessing it. From what I understand, the main benefit of molasses is feeding the microbes and stuff in the soil to help with the breakdown of the nutes. Since maxibloom is salt based (which kills off the microbes, i think?) and already in a form available to the plant, the main benefit of the molasses is therefore useless in this situation, correct?

Should I just stick to using molasses during the final flush?

Bit strong no? there's burn, and 1600 ppm seems like over kill, Im on 1200 in flower and yeah, no complaints. Nice and full tho!

oops i mucked up
i mixed 7 heavy teaspoons in a five gallon bucket
you are absolutely right
should be more like 1200 ppm with tap water
no wonder my tips are all burned up

idk the thing about the salt killing microbes.. sure, but it isn't a light switch. its more of a continuum. more salt will kill more microbes etc. i would be pretty surprised if absolutely none of your mycorrhizae and rhizobia (sp?lol) and stuff are there.. might be pulled back a little but shit man you should be using that much of the stuff to get your salt levels that high (?). i suppose it is pretty hard to say yes or no, cuz there could be so many other factors that come into play for you (existing water/soil/runoff ph, ppm levels, additives, etc. blah blah) that using molasses will change one way or another, but for me i use molasses all the way through, man. been doing so for years so i guess proof is in the pudding, at least for me. from a teaspoon to a tablespoon per gallon, the closer to harvest the more they get.. just did so with my first run with the KISS method. seems to have worked ok. :smoke: i think if i remember right, i didn't do it the first couple waterings then did it and they perked up. who knows might be completely unecessary, maybe it was all in my head i just have to support grandma's cuz of their cutting edge advertising lol

good stuff on the KISS method, thanks for the tip owner of this thread and everyone who posted on here, what a wondeful and simple nute system i'm impressed. biggg shout-out to tonatiuh for pointing me to this thread, kudos one more time lol :D

here's a harvest at 62 days

Can the MaxiBloom be mixed up in a 5 gallon jug and set aside to be used later as an add back mixture like I would use Nova Bllom (within a few days or a week) or does it have a shelf life?

Do I use the same calculations as the Lucas Method to add back plain water to top off my rez?

Sounds confusing. Let me try it this way:
Can I make a concentrated solution to use as a topping off mixture.
Lets say I have a 50 gallon rez....I load the initial nutes and it I water for a few days. I want to add back 20 gallons of plain water to top off the rez. How do I add the Maxi bloom to get my target PPMs? Whats the Calculating Formula?

Thanks !!

Pirate it might not be helpful to you but I just add water and then powder till it hits the ppm's I want it at. I have left a 32 gal Rez made for like 4 days just mixing it from time to time.

Thanks OTW.

I appreciate the response but there should be a mathematical formula that can get ya to your exact target PPM without having to guess.

yeah thats what I do.

Just put the brick in a rubbermaid add 5 gallons of tap water with 5 of the smaller scoops of maxi.

I never had burn with this even when cloning in the pre charged coco.

I never pre charged my coco. Hydrate and rinse with tap water. Drop in your plant then feed with nuted water. At least thats how I do it...:)
