A 5 gallon bucket with vent holes, a fan would be nice too, some strings for hanging or a racky system. yeah it will work fine.

just plopped in a bucket, they will rot.

i didnt mean just throw em in the bucket and leave em..i'd take them out once a day and put back in..that rack system sounds interestin..reason i want to do this isw the heat.i only cool 2 rooms in my house..the room i stay in and my flower room.the rest of the house is a hot mfer..in a 5 gal bucket i could control the smell and keep em in my room where it's cool..hmmm...maybe some layers of cardboard supported by bamboo sticks..3 or 4 layers per bucket..if anything happens i just put the lid back on the bucket.....or maybe place the buds in 1 quart brown paper bags, then put bags into 5 gal bucket..hmmm. think i might try that next time i chop.

My personal preference is to hang them somehow. I hung a stringline under my bathroom cabinet. I works well. Before that I used a CD rack that I enclosed in a giant box. The important thing is to make sure it dries slowly but does not mold. Leaving the bud on the stems and hanging them for about a week or so accomplishes this takes quite nicely. The "box" method also wicks away the moisture allowing for a slower cure process. I think a 5gal bucket should work but make sure to "turn" the bud every now and then as well as provide frequent air exchange until you get it dry enough to jar.
