Thank You All for Your Thoughts.

Thank You All for Your Thoughts.

But the show must go on.

I could say some bullshit about how Fluffy would have wanted me too....but that would be pushing it.

Our sunny weather came to a grinding halt. Spring has yet to give up. At this stage.... it helps more than hurts. Yesterday we had a short downpour, then a slow rain for a few hours.

Unlike last year, the girls are all framed out.

Once the plants begin to get big, a hard fast rain will add enough weight to peel branches off the trunk. But since most of the branches that would peel are tied up, I only lost one branch. A few broke off, but they were fixable.

The first decent rain always is a stress test. After it's done, you wander outside and expect the worse. So far so good. It also points out what will need to get done...where the weak spots are.

Also a good rain gives me a great time to fertilize and spray. Which I did today. No real reason to, except the weather gave me an excuse.

We haven't checked out the bottom garden in a couple of weeks. As you can kinda see from the shitty pics....they are doing OK. I do need to get a better camera if we are going to do this right. The biggest is about 8 ft...maybe a little more.

Hawaiian. I have a few trying to go short. They are the ones I transplanted, or get a bit more shade. If you plant the wrong strain a few weeks early it can happen. As the season progreses the plants with the loose buds will tighten up. Our long growing season tends to forgive small mistakes. The problem is while they are flowering, the're not growing taller. So you do lose some...a lot...of potential yield.

On the bottom I doubled up. I put four plants in each hole. I chose the best two. I will now cull out the plants with the loose flowers. Also it is time to get at the bottoms, and cut everything on the ground. Anything that is in the wrong place goes. I want to allow as much air to circulate as I can. The longer I can put off the WPM wars, the better it flies.

Pic 1) Thai crosses in one of the new holes.
Pic 2) Ditto. This is where I lost the branch. Notice the hole at the base.
Pic 3) This girl sits in the shade.
Pics 4, 5 & 6) These 3 I call the blob. I'm going to cull the middle plant that has those half assed flowers. Even with that one's removal I have planted these too close together.

Lookin good, haole! Sorry to hear about Fluffy, man. My condolences.

Those frames look great. Nothing like good preparation and planning so you can try to stay ahead of mother nature.

Keep it green!

Now....We Get to the Fun Part...

Now....We Get to the Fun Part...

Give or take I am at the halfway point.

The cane is running on it's own. There is nothing I can do to change anything, it's nowhere near time to pull males, nothing has declared enough to make a trip through worth the trail I'd leave.

So I wait. I have a small tray of starts that need to go out. These are the Rod crosses where the Jack was the mom. I already have the crosses where Rod was the mom in.

From the limited sample at the house, I see the Jack x Rod seem to be bigger than the Rod x Jack. I'd like to mess with these some more. There's gold in there. That's a question for short season. No reason to look that far ahead....yea, right.

We have a low sitting over us, every day last week was cloudy, with the half assed evening rain too. It should hang around until the weekend. Maybe then we'll get the summer heat. This weather has provided enough water for a good cane crop, so it's not all bad.

I haven't showed off the gulch in a couple of weeks. It's doing OK.

Pic 1) Rodnette. She is begining to show me some hairs. Not many, but I hope she keeps on veging. Save that hair until later.

Pic 2) Elephant. What can I say? I'm happy with her.

Pic 3) The Jack triple. But she is losing the triple and going to a two then one branch sequence. Same with the other triple.

Pic 4) The Jack twins.

Pic 5) Kush x Rod. One of Rod's kids. Great branch development. If you want to see more of her kids, I have an album going of all of them.

Damn bro looking great! Sure wish i could give you this heat we got, last night at 4am it was 94. And the 2nd time that damn woodchuck dug up my re veg's. The dog i have isn't smart enough to do anything and its hole is now over grown or i would pour gas down it and burn em out. I am going to try the steel wool around the plant to see it it bothers it, but if this dont work im done with this one plant. The fucker completely pulled it out of the hole, but after a bit of digging on the other, it must have tuckered out. And hasn't touched the best one around the corner.

Man your plants look healthy ass hell man. Sounds like ya have a nice breeding project going on there. I think one of my really good strains is male and would like to cross it with the Purple WW cross i have vegging for a scrog. But seems they are growing so damn slow. I topped or fimmed 2 of the good ones last night and will work on the Purple x WW today.

I tried last year to make seeds, but only got the guys next to where i live, not many. But he should have pulled the male, he's been doing this longer then me. But i may have a question before i start guy, because of bad germing in the cold, i lost some of these seeds and i really need to keep this strain.

I have never had the Jack or Kush before, but see a lot of people growing it so it must be some good shit man. So i can see you getting a great cross for next year:jump:

Pics look great OH, sure wish i was standing there burning one with ya watching em grow. I am going to try a cage around my woodchuck plant to see if it helps, just thought of it. Thanks for the idea bro.

Luv this thread:cathug:

Looking great oldhaole. Condolences on the loss of Fluffy, but look at the positives - now you have room for a new pup in the cycle of life.

Krazy...TY....I may have the room for a new puppy, but I'm sure I don't have the patience...or time...or desire to do this again.

LSY...You can keep the heat. It seldom reaches 80 here. I like it this way. Sorry to hear about your regows' eviction...now kill those fuckers.

I don't do purple. Anything purple I grew here has had problems They grow slow, and bugs love them... so I ain't the guy to ask about purple.

Canni...Rod is moving...Now go say TY to the nice man....the ...and I quote..."F'n jerk "...:thank you:

Hawaiian....we're next. A nice rain wouldn't hurt me at all. It's June and we're still green. What a difference a year makes.

Fields are done...partner crushed the hell out of his finger,...he won't be able to ride for a while... so I dumped the last batch of starts....no, dumped as in scraped...in the compost pile.

I didn't mind. This mean the planting part of this year is pau. It is better to get one thing totally done and off your plate before going to the next. Even better is finishing early. :dance013:

Now we come to the just let'em grow phase. I hacked out a plant out of the bottom garden. I do have the Thai in the wrong place. They should have been planted in the gulch. There's not enough room for one thai girl per hole down there...let alone two.

live and learn.

Planting four and leaving two did work out. It allowed me to pick the one I wanted to grow. But two holes (14 & 15) are halfassed flowering and I will lose yield there.

Just took the "In Case of Emergency" harvest of LSY's regrow. This should be the last harvest of the year. Now we reset the counter and start from zero.

I'm for all but my friends...Sold Out....:dance013:

Totals for last year are in....:thank you:.

Pic 1) LSY's regrow after I got done with her.
Pic 2) everything in this pic is Jack.
Pic 3) last hole. 21...too small...mistake.
Pic 4) the blob. too close...mistake
Pic 5) a couple are going off...too early....mistake.

No cane for me.

No cane for me.

Over on the big Island, I don't do the cane crops, too many rippers, on bikes with night vision goggles. These boys over on the Big I don't play You will lose 80- 90 % of your cane crop. Not sure how it is on Maui now, but Hawaii has organized ripper crews. I have even been told by many neighbors, local and haole that half the copters are NOT the cops, but These organized rippers flying over the subdivisions in copters with gps. They then send in their unkle, cousin or whateva bruddah is game to do the actual rip.Bruddahs with infrared night vision goggles.
I got ripped by these guys once. They came in a rain storm on a dark moon. While I was asleep. Kicked my door in, I fought 2 of em, and got the shit kicked outa me, beaten black n blue. They hog tied me. Hand and feet. Even tied me to my big screen TV so I could not get away. I could not fit thru the door to escape. They ripped out the phone wires. They had night vision goggles on their head. It was scary to say the least. The one guy kept beating me over the head with a 3 ft mag light every time I would move or even breathe loud. The other guy bent me over my bed, while his buddy held me down, and beat my ass and legs till they were blue and bleeding. Every now and again he would hit me over the head. I faked being knocked unconscious cause I was sick of being beat. I was already bleeding pretty bad and I honestly did not know if they were gonna kill me. They stole everything of value and took all my dried herb, all my seeds , all the living plants outa the greenhouse and pretty much tore up my house. The whole time I was hog tied , bleeding, tied to my Tv. I could do nothing. It was the most helpless feeling I have ever had. After ransacking my house, they left me there tied up.And the one guy gave me another mag light beating on the way out.He did knock me out that time for real.
Make a long story short I did escape from the hog tie, and got outa my house about 9 hrs later. I stumbled over to my neighbors house and passed out in a heap on his front porch. Woke up in the Hilo Hospital. I was beaten black n blue. I had to talk to the detectives. I had no choice. They knew who did it, I dint even have to tell them what the pricks looked like. They got prints from my house and were already on to this ripper crew. They had done a couple other violent home invasions before they did me.
In the course of the investigation, a rookie officer found all my trails, and took 4 hrs searching my property one day. Needless to say , they found all my plants. The detective apologized and explained he was a rookie, and it was not his idea to look for my plants, but this guy was a hothead. He said not to worry about all the plants they found. What he really wanted was the scumbags doing the home invasions. I was worried about both. They assured me, I was all good with the plants, that they did not care since I only had my medical limit.
They arrested the guys that did it 3 days later, after responding to a home robbery call. They tried it again, on another person, but had to stal a car and get away. So these idiots got a stolen car charge on top of the home invasion robbery charges.
They each got 25 yrs NO parole in Prison.
I know 2 people KILLED Over a cane crop. Murdered in the cane by rippers. No cane for me,lol

OH if they go off early, can you then re veg them? Or is it just to late now? Still trying to figure out that growing season you have with the ability to get 3 grows each year. I like growing outside so much, but my body is getting tired of it. Not that it would ever stop me, just may be a smaller plant count.

I still have 2 re veg's that the groundhog has left alone, but maybe 3' plants is all i could hope for and im reaching with this number. But iv never done these outside and they are packing on more green everyday so a oz each would be the best i could hope for. Anything more then that is all my skillz, lmao.

Looking great as always bro! I still wanna sit with em and burn a fatty with ya man.

wow jojo, that was you that got robbed that one time....sorry to hear that bro, some real fuckheads out there! local and otherwise.
i have heard of people just walking up in yards and taxing guys, that is why i have always kept it low pro.

had a friend who lived up in the acres, he used to be hooked in to the community, and knew who all the rippers were, they pretty much kept him and his various assortment of dogs and Funs alone :D

fucking rippers, got hit here more than a couple times in different grow spots.

i can still grow a crop in the jungle, but am too lazy now, it is not my life, i just like to smoke and know how to grow more than my fair share.

good luck with your sumemr grow jojo, have fun in cali!

Yup. I have seen it myself. I was a t friends house in Kalapana, we caught two huge bruddahs sneaking around, and we chased them out the backyard at high noon, they yelled insults and threw rocks at the house, and told us they were gonna call the cops. At DAWN, the next morning 2 Green Harvest copters were doing spirals overtop the house. LOL, of course I had moved everything the night before and they got nothing.. But yeah, gotta keep it low pro. Fucking rippers on Big Island are outa control.

thats the sad part, unless you have lots of dogs and guns, people find out and your a target :(

If you are legal, you have recourse to the law.

If you are legal, you have recourse to the law.

IMO
Motion detector cameras with a DVR and an alarm on the grow-cage are a good investment.
That, and good neighbors and multiple dogs, well trained, should be sufficient.

Guns?
Not a good idea.
(Best study the laws concerning firearms in Hawai'i before obtaining one.)
The restrictions on storage of firearms alone can turn them into a liability.
And conditions that justify shooting someone are so narrow as to make firearms a very poor choice.

Google Kevin Metcalf.

Poor bastard is doing hard time for shooting a ripper on the Big Island.

Med rec or no, you can not shoot someone over a property crime!

So, I just tell the dogs that I want DNA samples.
So no eat the en-tire thief ,yah?.

"Bite 'em Dano!":)

Aloha,
Weeze
