Converting 10x10x8 from intake/exhaust to sealed room?

I originally set up my 10x10x8 room, running three 1kw HPS and two 600w HPS (4200w total)...in your standard intake/exhaust setup. I modeled it on a friends setup, he has 2 5kw rooms and he is somehow able to keep his temps stable and good air movement without any AC.

Well the grass is always greener on the other side, and for some reason my rooms temps creep into the 85-90 range even when im only running 3 lights. (it might be the santa fe duey creating that heat but who knows)..i want to add an AC but in an intake/exhaust setup its pretty much useless, all the cold air created will get sucked out quickly. so im thinking about converting everything to sealed room, plugging up the intake exhaust that i spent hours cutting through drywall to make in the first place...

i have a 700CFM 10in exhaust with a can 150 that pulls air, and a 10inch passive intake as well as negative pressure being drawn through the door when its open. i like the air movement, i run it 24/7 and its main use is keeping the humidity down and the air circulating. you can stand in the middle of the room and feel the air movement which i like..

But im still having issues with heat. a couple things i have planned are to throw the glass back on my hoods and hook up a 6inch fan to suck out that hot air, thats the main culprit i believe. only problem is, the room is positioned in a way that the only place i could exhaust that hood air is right into the same room where im puling passive intake air lol....unless i can run an extra 10 feet of ducting to pull it out through the exhaust hole...

WHat would need to be done to convert this to a sealed room? i did a little research but the ventilation 101 thread is mostly about intake/exhaust in mini cabs...no 10x10 bedrooms information i could find.

are there other options i should try before converting?

would installing a minisplit solve those problems, or would it also be useless due to the fact im not sealed...

thanks in advance for all advice, props dished out accordingly..

The dehumidifier probably is the cause of a good part of your heat issues . Is it possible to put it on a low fan setting and still keep humidity in check? Or just run it at night?

^yea the santa fe is definately raising the temps a bit...

my friend who does the double 5kw rooms came by and checked on things...he says i dont need an AC. he noted that my can150 filter is looking kinda dirty, and said to remove the fabric covering...that alone increased air movement a bit.

then he noted that my oscillating fans were all pointing in the wrong direction, creating a whirlwind in the center of the room while the exhaust intake just pulled the air above it.....he said he had this same problem in our other friends grow, and solved it by turning off all fans except 2 that were pointed at the exhaust. so im gnna try this next light period and see what happens.

and then im gonna throw the glass on my 1kws and exhaust that air out through the same wall as the 10in...im thinking a 6in fan with a small can filter will do the trick? sucks because im gonna have to figure out how to mount a fan/filter to the ceiling..doesnt sound like fun..

One simple adjustment that helped me lower my temperatures was to change my lights' on cycle to be from 8pm to 8am instead the converse. This lowered my temps from 80-83F with the lights on, to 77-79F.

My warehouse gets nearly 20F warmer during the day, due to poor insulation, no air conditioner, and copious domed roof windows. Now my box's intake air stays at a nice 68F during the on cycle.

I would definitely put the glass back on the lights. For that many lights I would go with an 8" fan. to cool the lights you could cut another hole into the intake room (if that is a possibility) or put in a 'Y' splitter and draw clean, cooler air through the lights without needing another filter. Then put in a 'Y' splitter after the room exhaust fan and light exhaust fan before it leaves the room. Maybe even put a intake fan.

If you dont want to cut another hole, this is how I hung my filter and 6" fan. I screwed a 2x4 into the ceilings main supports. Then I drilled 2 holes into the 2x4 big enough for some larger screw hooks. After those were in, I used some rope and made some slings a little bigger than the filters diameter. Then i just slid the filter/fan into the slings.

nice pictures vertimnus! that is sort of similar to krunchbubbles manifold check his pics...its a crazy setup hes got six lights all attached to one manifold...

im probably gonna glass up only the two 1kws on the right side of the room..so only two lights would need to be aircooled...im gonna run that out the same wall as the exhaust..probably gonna punch another hole because attaching it to regular exhaust is too far away..

and yea jets im running lights from 9pm-9am...definately helps.

I run my room sealed when the lights are on and vented when the lights go out. So far seems to work great. All intake and exhausting is done out the window. I made a board with 4 vent holes that covers up the entire window. 2 of the vents is used to air cool the lights,Intake/exhaust for lights. The other 2 is Intake and Exhaust for lights out or for emergency situations. I have a window ac mounted on the fake wall that I built to split the bedroom. Im using about 85% of the bedroom for flowering.
