Glad to hear it bro :)

Yeah, the propagation bubbler increases the survival rate of clones considerably.

I updated the guide with new text, provided a link to the vertical scrog forums etc.

Enjoy

"There is also a technique called FIM (Fuck I Missed) topping. By leaving a small portion of the growth on the main shoot intact, the plant will for some reason assume that four shoots, instead of two, are the dominant shoots and they will grow evenly in height."

Four bud sites instead of one? Yes please!!!

Wow thanks a bunch. I'm about to do my second grow and was thinking SOG. This was very helpful, especially the SOG section. Now I'm deff going to use this method on my next crop.

THANKS FOR THE HELP

No problem. I'm glad that you found the guide useful.

Best of luck with your second grow. SOG grows can definitely give you a lot of bud. The tricky part is figuring out how many plants you need. Use a bunch of clones from the same plant for an even canopy and give the plants some space. If they are too close together, they also tend to stretch for the light when it gets crowded. 1-4 plants per square foot is possible, depending on what kind of plant you are growing and what kind of light you are using.

When I found this place I was growing dinky plants from bagseed under cfls. Lucky to pull a zip off a plant.

A year later and boom :

Thanks :tiphat:

Awesome plant bro  textbook buds. As good as it gets.

Yeah, cfl's are ok for vegging, mother plants and seed grows but you need that extra power for the flowering stage if you want heavy gear.

Enjoy that bud

great thread kodiak! i would call it a "must read".

after going from a horizontal grow to vertical i have to re-learn how to get the girls going right in veg. lollipoping and pinching a top now and then no longer applies to what i am doing. i know i have to reset the learning curve, and each plant is different, so i am not asking for a wave of your magic wand, but ........... any input?

Thanks

I haven't done any vertical grows but phototropism works the same no matter how you orientate the plants or the light. They always go for the sun. It's just a tilted perspective of things. I would probably use chicken wire as a scrog. Top and train the plants in veg so that they are hugging the fence and guide the shoots through the holes. Some shoots go high while others go low. Thread back and forth if necessary. If some shoots elongate too much, feed them back through the scrog and have them come out at a lower level. It's good to keep a creative frame of mind. Anything that gets permanently stuck on the dark side is probably best removed for optimum performance.

Just some ideas off the top of my head. I'm sure that you will know what to do as things progress. Necessity is the mother of invention.
