cortisone cream and benadryl. long sleeves, gloves, trim machine and mask. if no machine just take ur time also rubing alcohol on the hives helps to get the shit thats causing the rash.

i wear protective p100 mask and safety goggles and gloves whenever working as a bulb can explode h202 at 30 percent can burn and dust from perlite can cause breathing difficulties or allergies in some.not to mention long sleeve shirt and pants. i used to suffer with the rashes and allergies but with less then 100 bucks you can work allergy free and safely cover ur hands skin and eyes. ive also got special shades for eye protection now.

if you get some small rashes use rubbing alcohol right away and within 5 mins will go away if not try some cortisone cream and a benedryl.

it's not an allergy, marijuana is related to the stinging nettle plant, aka itchweed....i remember as a teenager, taking a large bud off my plant outdoors, then hiding it under my shirt as i biked home, only to end up with the exact same itchweed welts all over my stomach...don't scratch them and they go away fast but that is also why weed must be cooked before eaten, the tiny hairs that cause the irritation will give you some major stomach cramps if you eat a decent amount raw. i imagine the effect varries strain by strain but i will bet you 5 bucks ANYBODY will get that sort of reaction if you rub a cola on a more sensitive area of you skin for an extended period of time, a lot longer than stinging nettle would take though luckily, or gardening would be a pain!

im actually extra sensitive when it comes to poison ivy. so that would correlate with my sensitivity to untrimmed/living plants.

wow this is crazy, I've never heard of this. maybe I need to get my hands on some sticky terpene-filled buds and try it out

Same here, never happened for my first 6 years of growing but now I always a wear long sleeve button up shirt or nylon wind breaker when checking the garden / trimming. buds that are dried or cured have no affect on me. Its weird you can smoke it but get it on your skin and all hell can brake loose. The rash only lasts for an hour or so for me. If it is really annoying me I'll use rubbing alcohol sometime to get the oils off, your results may vary.

Its not the terpenines that cause the reaction its tiny crystiline hairs on the leqves and stem, exactly like stinging nettle

as everyone says, your allergic to pot plants..

and as people said, I have heard of some growing more tolerant, but your allergic bottom line

Just letting you guys know my defense to this allergy built up considerably over the past two years. I only get a couple of small bumps, if that now, being shoulders deep in my my plants. I used to sneeze for hours with a constantly runny nose for first few months and now I rarely even sneeze.

Trimming is the worst, i've ruined a few buds by sneezing unexpectedly on them!! But whenever i don't wear a hoody in my grow room i always end up with sleeves of the hives by the time i walk out.
