NHL hockey chatter...

R

redeyesurprise

As much as I want the B's to win, they cannot unless their special teams miraculously get it together. It's been brutal watching their power plays through the whole playoffs. :wallbash:

Even though I want the B's to hoist the cup, I am glad they are playing the Canucks (if they make it through Tampa that is).
Plus if the Canucks win, you can finally end the 18 year lack of Sir Stanley's presence in the Great White North.:smoke out:

Lets take a look at your BEAST of a division here and compare it to the Sharks division...
Divisions.jpg

Now compare the Northwest to the Pacific...How many teams in the NW actually made the playoffs other than Van and how many made the playoffs from the Pacific? 1:4. Like I said, you guys played in a JOKE of a division. It doesnt detract from their skill and level of play, but the stats are HEAVILY skewed because of it. The worst team in our division would have been the number two team in the NW. If the Nucks were in any other division, they would have been no where near those types of stats. No one else in that division was playoff bound or worthy even. So like I said, the stats portion of the Nucks is HIGHLY inflated and the fact that they won the Pres Trophy is irrelevant.

ahh poor sore loser,
and after we win the cup you'll have something dumber to say. lol
I see a bunch of shit teams in your division. besides we have won our division for the past 4 years.
we shit kicked the Sharks and beat them every regular season game. I am done with this conversation, it took us 5 games to send the Sharks packing so YOUR SAYING WE WOULD HAVE DONE EVEN BETTER IN THE SHARKS DIVISION... lol lol

so who will the Canucks play?
now that San Jose was destroyed in 5 games
here in Vancity don't really care... we beat the best in the West easily now who is gonna challenge us, hopefully the East is more of a challenge

Like I said, I think theyll play Boston. They far from destroyed SJ. lol. You guys won the series on a lucky bounce of the puck. Dont get too cocky.

Imo, there is no challenge from the East. This will make it the seventh time that SJ has been knocked off by the eventual Cup winner. Tampa has the best chance of beating Vancouver just based on the way they play, but I dont think theyll get past the bruins.

Im slightly worried about some of our forwards this offseason. I really wanna know who were going to bring in on D for next season. That was our glaring hole more than anything else. I think Seto may be gone, and to be honest I wouldnt be disappointed with a Heatley trade.

well it looks like weber is forcing a trade, he'd be a hell of a pick up for any team... this salary cap is going to be interesting for trades and pickups..

our biggest concern is our backup goalie, if we can keep schneider, and then it's about developing, is your farm team strong?... drafting is going to be key, again with the cap...

Most of the guys from the Worchester Sharks have been up and down all year getting them a bit of NHL time. Ray Sommers is a monster Coach down there. He does a damn good job at the developmental stuff. I would LOVE to pick up Shae. That mans a beast.

You guys have some serious cap issues coming up. Its beginning to look like a purge like it was in Chicago. You guys have what, six big time players that are beasting out in the playoffs that have their contracts up at the end of the year? Gunna be a rough offseason, but if it gets you guys the cup, like Chi said, its worth it.

well our thing is and this is what i tell myself, if you win it, then maybe some guys will stay on for less if they think another cup shot is in the air...

the cap is a good thing for everybody... most of our top guys are signed up for a couple years tho... so we are lucky that way... it's when we need to resign that'll be a huge issue...

the manitoba moose are decent, some good forwards down there for us...

but ya now it's all about this season for us, a cup in city that has never hoisted it would be something!!! 3's a charm, or it better be

While I agree with that, however look again at Chicago. They refused to pay the guys that deserved it and made the push to keep Hj. I wish we would have signed him though. We need better D. Thats always been a problem for SJ and the biggest reason weve not yet advanced past the third round. You guys have the most ridiculous amount of depth on the blue line.

we are lucky on the blue line that's for sure

it's amazing how a team can fall apart ie chicago

like football, hockey with a salary cap will mean year by year any team can win it. but the advantage will go to whoever can develop talent. those teams that have been poching are kinda screwed without the almighty dollar being as powerful

some teams gotta go... wtf is going on, just give Winnipeg a team already
