Am I crazy to be over 99?

I am in California and am considering growing over 99 around 156 to be exact and was curious your thoughts on the situation.....I have my card for CA medical, and a co-op certificate so I can grow as many as 99, but I am still over that, I consider myself safe with my techniques, but still, am I an idiot? LOL

If you are going to go over 99, go WAY over 99. 156 is pointless.

Otherwise just be illegal grow 1000+ but don't do it under the guise of medical marijuana and make the medical community look any worse...
This is the major problem with the Cali Med Industry... Everyone's got a business plan but no fucking ethics... No ethics and operating outside the medical marijuana laws= Drug Dealer trying to look legit...
I don't necessarily agree with the current medical marijuana laws personally... But truly ill people fought for them and don't need any worse of an image...

Second would be why you are doing over 99..greed? Maybe think about your priorities and what you want out of life. If you think doing over 99 is ok for you, then you may as well go really big, so you can afford good representation if you need it.

its NOT the amount of plants you have, its WHO busts you that you have to worry about.....

in the bay area, your not going to be prosecuted federally. a more conservative county or area, you may be charged federally....

I wouldn't put myself out there. Its way to risky for me....I complain to my business partner whenever he buys more than half a P off a vender. I don't even like having over 6 P's of dried flowers at a time. I tell him to buy in 25% of a P at a time. Some call me paranoid but I like to play safe....

going over 99 basically means you are rolling the dice..you might get lucky and catch state charges like KB and some of my other friends....400 plants got my buddy 1.5 years felony probation and a nice blemish on his record...if that went federal he would be lookin at 5 years and you gota serve 80percent i heard..

the chances of the case going federal is relatively slim but you never know....like i said, GAMBLING.

my only advice is to get as many scripts as possible...collect yourself a nice 20 or 30, start donating free buds to legit sick patients and ask them to testify on your behalf if you ever get raided...keep most of your cash in a seperate spot, and no ak-47 assault rifles in the grow...


also depends what county....if you are in socal in a conservative district i would for sure stay under 99...i sometimes skirt the limit simply because i am in pot growing central theres thousand plant grows right down the block for all i know stealing power and doing some real illegal shit...

Lots of good points and tips in this thread so far, I just wanted to mention that Feds CAN keep track of plants over time, so 20 X 5 plant grows and you're technically able to get popped by the DEA, if you pissed them off enough. Activists, journalists and hydro store owners are the guys that piss off Feds.

I have lots of scrips, a good attorney and a CPA all in my pocket, bail money set aside for me and my crew, and everything else I invest somehow. I pay full retail for power (now $5700 a month) and treat it like a completely illegal grow. Excessive odor control, high security, trusted crew and several people to call if anything goes south. Cover all the bases you and everyone on here can think of, and don't do business with strangers, EVER.

I have hundreds of rooted plants at a time in my 3 rooms (flower, veg, pre-veg,) more if you count the clone tent. I sleep pretty well at night and don't do a single thing to draw attention to myself. Act like a normal upstanding citizen, look like a boring dude that has a dull life, and drive a boring car that looks like everything else in a Target parking lot. Invest wisely, prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

It's not that it's not scary, or that we don't know what the risks are, there just comes a certain point when you have done all you can do to mitigate thm. There's no rosy-colored glassses on here, we work very hard and have fought to keep what we have.

I can't grow any bigger plants, I have 6 foot ceilings and with vert bulbs, 5 foot plants are as tall as I can get with a pot underneath them.

bigger plants = more veg = more costs according to most commercial growers....i was talking to a 30kw guy last night and he was in total amazement when i said i veg'd for 1-2 months.....he said in order for his operation to turn profit they flower 2 weeks from clone they need to have a harvest every two months....


somewhat true though...i probably only make 60-70% of what i should be making...instead of pullin every two months im pulling every 3 months.....sacrificing overall profit for quality but thats what id rather have instead of pumping out the same old GDP packs every two months....

It's the same risk-reward algorithm of every other decision in life. You know the very real federal implications. I can't tell you whether you want/need the money badly enough to risk that kind of time. Only you can.

Don't just grow 1000+ plants, there are different federal sentencing guidelines for 100-1000 and 1000+, correct me if im wrong but 1000+ is a guaranteed 10 year sentence.
