Looks like the Phightins are in first place in the NL with a .778 win%(7-2)

Yankees better pick up some slack here, Tampa's a bust, Rangers look GREAT!

Boston will end up shooting themselves in the foot...again.

This goes out to anybody this is trying to judge the records of the teams, it is a very long season. Last year the Giants started off bad, then won the world series. Not that it means nothing either. Also, I must agree that the Rangers are hitting like the big red machine teams from the Reds. Watch out for the Rangers for sure.

i understand... but phillies have the best pitching this year as long as they stay healthy. Im not a philly fan either.

nobody has repeated a world series since '99-'00 (yankees)

giants need to win 90+ games this year.. they are at the bottom of the western division right now. Don't forget you lost edgar renteria. Rockies have always been solid and i feel they have more of a chance than Giants this year.

good luck fans.

I love that you stick to your guns, and you make some great points that only time will be able to tell. However, I feel like the Giants are better than there were last year. They picked up some key players, Branden Belt, Tejada. Pablo lost 40 lbs, and looks like he will be playing like he did in 2009 when he batted .330. The pitching is only maturing, since they are all very young. Brain Wilson is back from the DL and once he gets his location back, he will be great again.

Rockies I believe to be the "next" best team in the west this year. They seem to always start off decent, but then win like 28 out of 31 games down the stretch.

As for the Philly's having better pitching......not sure that is a fact or not. I believe not, but once again, time will tell. If we go off the past, then Giants pitching is better. However Philly's upped the stakes with some huge trades.

Did anybody watch the Rangers and Tigers game yesterday? Josh Hamilton fractured his arm sliding into home and it looks like he'll be out for at least 6wks.

I think it'll be more of the same though. With the pitching they still have healthy, all is not lost. Can't wait to see em' play the yanks here pretty soon, that should be a good few games.

Torture = playoffs?

Torture = playoffs?

Why did the Giants win the WS? Torture!

The reason the Giants won the 2010 World Series was because of their style of play. All those torturous 1 run, every pitch counts, baseball games are 'playoff' type games. By the time the Giants made it to the playoffs last year, they were very accustomed to playoff baseball.

Did the Giants really have a chance 'on paper' against Texas? or Philly? or? No! They played better 'playoff' baseball.

And guess what? They are already playing 'playoff baseball' this year. You don't keep your edge cruising to 6 run wins. Get down & come back & grind'm out & win, that's playoff baseball.

The down side is that playoff baseball is very taxing & hard to keep on a roll, and takes a heavy toll. So that's why my prediction is that if (and that's a big if!), the Giants make the 2011 playoffs, they will repeat!

Now where's my eye black?

P.S. And I got a new big screen TV just before last seasons playoffs, life was good!

Tonigh's game is a perfect example.

Come from behind, every pitch counts, 1 run win, in front of a packed house 4-3 Giants, & take this series from the Dodgers 2 of 3. The Giants have won their last 2 series. Sure looked like playoff baseball tonight!

P.S. I think the funny thing is that the Giants could be the first team to repeat as WS champions as underdogs. If they don't catch too many headlines & can sneek in under the radar into the playoffs. Then watch out, your playing their game. Ask StL & LA how hard it is to put the Giants away.

Giants 2011 playoff style baseball

Giants 2011 playoff style baseball

Despite ranking next-to-last in the National League in runs, the Giants haven't been the victims of many blowouts. Entering Sunday's game, San Francisco had played a major-league-high 27 games that were decided by three or fewer runs, including 15 straight.

The trend is nothing new; the Giants led the majors with 115 such games last season.

The Giants schedule is heavy with road games early in the season. They play 15 more road games the first 1/2 of the season, so they will have 15 more games at AT&T, down the stretch.

P.S. And they just swept the Rockies to pull within 1 game of 1st place.

Playoff baseball all year long baby.

Great pics Babba, I love the city by the bay. I was working at the 300 block of Brannon street that day. Absolutely NO PARKING because of the game, lol.

Deja vu

Deja vu

This year's starting to look a lot like last year. A team with 'just enough' runs to win. & win & win..........

Although they are near the bottom in scoring, right now the Giants have a 3.5 game lead in the NL West.

The Cleveland Indians have the best record in baseball & they only have 2 more wins than the Giants.

Just wait until Panda comes back & the offence heats up!

Until then, pitch, pitch, pitch!...................

I think the Giants are way better right now than they were this time last season. I just hope they can continue down the same path.
