This Is How You End Salt Buildup In Your Medium Forever!!!

I am not implying there are no nutes in the bud, just no salts. I can kind of taste a slight harshness, but it is smoother than anything my girl was bringing home from a local dispensary.

The drip clean does have P+K, but it is used in such small amounts that it doesnt throw off your ppms really. I just started to flush today. I am gonna flush for 7 days and then we will see how it is.

Oh, before I started using drip clean my runoff was 2000ppms when I only fed 1200ppms of nutes. Now my runoff sits under 400. If I flush it will drop very fast.

DRIP CLEAN - A+

Again, salts DO NOT accumulate in the buds, nutrients do. The harshness you taste IS the nutrients in the bud. The salt will build up in your medium.
I'm not trying to pick a fight with ya Bong', not at all. I just think people are assuming that drip clean is doing all sorts of magic with their buds when it's nothing more than a surfactant with some P & K.
Even H&G's website says that it keeps your pipes open and clean.
Curious as to what nutes your using. You mentioned Canna A+B, Bud Xl "and some other stuff". Wondering what that other stuff is and what kinda ec you're running.

I have a plant I need to flush tonight due to lockout. Would it be safe to flush the plant with the drip clean? My medium is soil.

:tiphat:

Frankly, i feel if your not overfeeding them in the first place, you dont have salt build up in the medium. Too much N at the end of flower is what people attribute to bad taste/ash. I want to each spinach not smoke it.

Hey Krunchbubble - great thread

I used some cheap salt based nutes like Shultz 12-15-12 that didn't have all the goodies that a good cannabis nute should have. When Mg deficiencies reared up due to lock up and pH, I turned to Epsom Salts. I'd be flushing every couple of weeks in flowering everytime the soil pH would tank.

It sounds like product would be a big help to anyone that's struggling with salt buildups.

I made a move to A/N products that are less salt based and more chelated and never had a salt buildup in several grows now.

A/N Sensi Bloom and Big Bud for me!

I get where you are coming from, but my plants have no signs of deficiencies anywhere. Here is a rundown of what has been used this cycle. It is kind of an experiment as this was my first time in coco.

Veged at 750ppms with Coco A+B, flora nectar, cal mag.
Flowering I was up to 1250ppms running Coco A+B, cal mag, botanicare sweet. Some Sierra Natural Science bloom additive was used at small amounts to see how well it did. I stopped using the SNS bloom and started using Botanicare hydroplex and BUDXl. 1200-1300 ppms at this point and I started running Drip Clean. I then cut out the hydroplex after a few weeks. Then it went to Coco A+B, Bud XL, Drip Clean, Shooting Powder, 1/2 the cal/mag I was using, and half the botanicare sweet. Plants started chunking up and getting funky! Now I started the flush tonight and I should be pulling in 4-5 days. This was a test to see how I liked coco.

The bud at 45 days shouldn't burn to a clean white ash. I have never experienced bud that smooth full of nutrients. The only thing I can think of is that drip clean is working wonders. My plants have lush green growth and my runoff ppms are a lot lower. I cant really explain it.

What scale 'ppm' are you using? I fertigate at 1.2-1.5ec above my tap (~0.35ec).

The point evlme2 is making is that Drip clean is made for keeping the feed lines clean and unclogged, users claim and this threads title says 'end salt buildup in your medium', but that doesnt make it some magical product that perfectly balances your plants needs, and eliminates the excess salts, as your 'white ash @ 45 days' seems to be implying.

Your implications seem to be a stretch. But what the fuck do i know, i dont use the product?

I have never had nute buildup since using drip clean. Proof enough for me. I bought a bottle over a year ago and I think it will last me at least 3-4 more years. Costs nothing. No negatives to using this product.

If this product can help me reduce the need to flush periodically to remove excess salt buildup in my chem fed ladies and show no negative side effects, I am down to at least give a try. If it works then I add to the arsenal, if it doesn't work, then I call bullshit. But I have to at least try it before I call bullshit on it.

You need to use it from day 1 of grow. Use it every feed. If you do, you will never need to flush again. Well, except the final flush in the last 14 days.

yes, they say it keeps drip lines clean, but they ALSO say it causes zero buildup in whatever medium your using....

http://www.nlggrow.com/house-and-garden/4271-drip-clean.html

its not like i picked a product out and said "this will end salt buildup"! no, i did tons of research and ran it for several years......

its the shit, there is nothing like it.......

and to the people who don't think it works or think im talking out of my ass, call H@g, they will ship you a bottle for FREE! after you use it, come back to this thread and tell us your results.....

guaranteed, your going to run it for now on....

I happen to have a bottle that I got for free from my shop. I isolated one plant from the rest and from day 1 used it on said plant.
Compared to the other plants their was zero difference in every way EXCEPT a little less salt residue on the inside of my pot. Burn/taste/ash/etc was exactly the same.
Does it work? As good as any other surfactant works.
Mind you, I've been growing in coco for a few years now, mostly using Maxibloom and I have never ever had salt build up to the point of needing to add a surfactant.
I believe it will prevent salt build up in the medium, but thats all it will do.
Also, if guys aren't flushing at all (because of they think they don't need to because they're using drip clean) then your buds are full of nutrients, still. The only way to rid the buds of excess nutes is to cut off it's food supply and let the plant use what is stored in the plant. Drip clean has nothing to do with that.
Yes, drip clean works as a surfactant. and thats all it is, a surfactant. One still needs to give plain water in order for the plant to use what it stored.
My :2cents:

I havent used it, but thats because i think its a solution for a problem growers shouldnt have. I use 1/2" tubing for fertigation, so clogging isnt an issue, and my solution to too much salt build up is to feed less salts.

Drip clean used in this manner is like liposuction for someone who overeats. The real solution is to eat less, not some needless operation which only masks the problem.

krunchbubble--You generated a lot of interest in this stuff since you started this thread a year and a half ago. I'm curious why you no longer use it?

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=209994

got 2 1/2 lb's off of 1k, highest yield ive had since using drip clean last year......

had to use it there because of water usage....

i think i will start using it at my grow for now on......

Thanks for the reply, krunchbubble. You've definitely got it going on, bro. Beautiful plants.

i think i will start using it at my grow for now on......

I'm not trying to call you out on anything but just want to clarify for myself because it seems you're dancing around the question. You had to think all day to remember that you're using it? And you think you'll start using it at your grow "for now on..."? So apparently you haven't been using it all the time? Some of your grows but not all? Can you elaborate please? No offense intended but it still doesn't seem to add up quite right. Honestly, if it were most anyone else I'd think be thinking shill.

Just trying to understand. Thanks.

i dont mind the questions......

i ran drip clean when i ran coco. stopped using coco a little bit after i got busted last year, when i started running the warehouse....

when i started running the warehouse, it was already setup like my old warehouse's. all rockwool, hand water. the watering schedule that i have used for years in rockwool calls for a flush every 5-6 days....

with that schedule, i didn't see a use drip clean.....

until the landlord of the warehouse started bitching about water usage and i had to cut down dramatically....

so, no more flushing, forced to use drip clean for the last 60 days or so......

and i just so happened to get my best yield in a while gpw wise.....

could of been the genetics, but i always remember i killed it in yield when using drip clean...

4-8 oz plants on the regular, not more then 3-4 ft tall....
