I had to move my clones outside last night. They were under 16hrs of light a day. My question is did I put them out to early and are they gonna start flowering on me and then reveg? I dont think they will, but im not really sure.

I've had this happened in south-eastern NE, but I stuck them out around April 15th or so....super early.

EDIT: and it was only a few males that showed :). got a head start on culling.

no worries bro... anytime after the 15th and you really should be allset

Unless you're dealing with heavily indica dominant genetics.

this was a Raspberry flavored indica that made me drool. It went out on the 15th in 09, reveged on me, stayed very small and then the parts where the mutant leaves sprouted to cover the early flowers harbored mold that pretty much ruined the whole plant.

Even with hybrids, you never know what is happening on a hormonal or cellular level. If the plant begins to enter transition you will be rewarded with fast growth (stretch), but then the plant will have to "revert" to veg... this would theoretically slow down growth for a while... maybe it balances out.

Hey crfhonda

There isnt a lot of good info about the topic. Like most folks, over time, i learned the hard way.

It depends completely on 2 conditions.

1. Daylength:. Hybrid cannabis flowers under 14 hrs of light and it takes approx. 14 days from the initiation of 14 hrs before the first flowers appear. Therefore clones shouldnt be placed outdoors for more than about a week before 14 hrs of daylength is reached at your lattitude. Im just below 38n and 14 hrs comes about may 15 for me and so i plant my clones out on may 10. If i plant them even a week earlier on May 5, i get quite a few flowers. May 1 means full blown flowering at my lat. A buddy that lives south of me cant plant his out until June 1 without flowering.

2. Age of the clones. The more mature the clone the more it will respond to daylenth below 14 hrs. A 45 - 60 day old clone will respond much quicker than a clone thats only been rooted for a couple of weeks.

Or at least thats been my experience..
