^ i wouldnt cut the trees makes it a bit easyer to find a spot when its surrounded by chopped down trees .. eather move them to more sun or just dont worry about it... iv grown in a spot that was like that... i had about 3 0 4 hours of direct sunlight.. they still get lots of light even its its not direct... keep in mind that indoor growers paint or put uf white plasic becasue it reflects light that would just go no where.. the veg around maynot be white but it will still reflect some. putting it in the ground has both its pro's and con's... putting them in pots they will get more warm then in the ground and roots like warmth... but the warmth will also help to run out of water faster... also the more water = more visits= a better chance of a easy to spot path. if there is a river / stream/ pond near by i wonder maybe consider getting a hose to run the distance and getting an electric pump or even a gas one if you are sure know one would hear it. also another thing to use other then water crysals is peat moss it will help to hold moisture in longer, aswell as putting mulch or hay ontop of the soil after you plants are in will help to retain water.. along with the water pump there are a few other things you could do to help keep down visits... getting a rain barrel with a drip system will help... just fill it when you go up and pump water to your plants.... or another idea would be to get buckets and screw or nail them up in a tree and then run some small hose from the bottem of each bucket down to each plant... have it so its only doing drops at a time instead of a flow.. then after a rain the bucket should be almost filled and you will get a steady supply of dripping water after the rain for a day or 2 or maybe 3...

man i haven't check your pics in a while.. did you end up with a hermaphrodite? if so was it on purpose for fem seeds? i have been considering stressing one of my lil girls out to get her to go hermaphrodite so i can let her fill with seeds for next year.. of course this would be at the end of the outdoor season, so the seeds would only be stored for under 6 months. ALOT cheaper then buy seeds and better then using un-fem un-known strain bag seeds.
best of luck b

I grow out in the hamilton, cambridge area in ontario..lat 43. You may not have to water the ground plants, but your waaaaay underestimating your water use for your pots. This is supposed to be a really hot summer with lots of days above 30c. your looking at at least 6-8 litres per pot a week and thats the minimum..if they are heavy feeders it will be worse.
2 small points for you..
Use mulch..it will really help cut down on your watering time..i prefer cedar. Another problem in ontario is slugs, they kill small plants really fast. Slugs wont cross copper, so i put a small circle of copper wire around the base of the plant..maybe a 4 inch wide hoop around the bottom. Just buy some electrical wire and strip the copper out of it.
Your spots seem remote..next year i would store water in garbage cans at some sites..it works wonders. I bet this is the year you realize 5 BIG plants are better then a bunch of 1/4 pounders, it took me 4 wasted summers of watering to figure that out.

I hope i dont come across as a dick..im just trying to save you grief bro, Peace Lm

Hey thanks for the input guys!

KanadaKronic... yes one plant did hermi. Feminized seeds arent made with hermaphrodite pollen tho. If i remember correcty they use whats called "collidal silver" (made with an electric charge, and silver wire i would assume?) They spray it on a TRUE female in order to get it to revert to a male. Hermaphrodite pollen will just make more seeds that have a high likelyhood to hermi, not fem.
I wish i had the opportunity to get a pump set up, but its very flat here, so no streams or lakes. I think im just gunna say fuck it and dig some holes, but i hate digging haha.

lilman.. thanks for stoppin in g. I wouldnt do an outdoor grow without mulch, it really does help alot! Its not moist in the area so slugs arent a prob, its deer that will fuck shit up. I am aware of the copper trick tho. I wont be getting any one pounders this year. Unlike the last few years i dont have the opportunity to veg plants in spring, so only doing 5 plants would be a waste, altho your damn right thats the way to do it. I think anything over 30 gallons would be too much.

Currently its been unseasonably cool, and extremely wet. Temperature... fuckin cold lol

krk... 3 hours is plenty g (altho im sayin 3-4 DIRECT, theres lots of light that still makes it tru the trees all day), my first year growing back in the day i had a plot that was full shade all day and buds developed just fine... no colas, but a ok yield I dont think its right to cut down a tree thats been around longer than i have, especially just for personal gain.

Much respect for your grower ethics!

Its good security too! No need to make the grow site look like a grow site!

Update..

Spot one... got 4 bales already in the woods, just waitin on the smartpots.

Spot 2... Decided to bury the pots, hopefully it saves me some hardship later on. SHOULD I KEEP THE SOIL IN THE BAGS, OR JUST PLACE DIRECTLY IN THE GROUND? Heres some pics from the weekends work.

just cut a few good size holes in the bottom of the bags so the roots can grow deeper and put em back in the holes. itll help retain moister plus it will help ur plants get all the nutes u feed em . browndirt uses this method.

Well seeds arrived safe and sound today! Got 30 somethin Mighty Mite f2's, and 10 somethin sour 60's... both are 2nd generation i believe. Will be poppin them all tommoro morning.. well mabey not all the s60's, but most of em. Mighty Mites should finish in the nick of time, and s60's of course will finish on time.

Yea i will prolly just take out the bags all together, i can reuse em in the swamps, an itll only take a second to dump the soil out. Still gotta do the fencing and mulch at that spot, hopefully i can finish that in the coming days. Also i gotta run into the hydro shop, and see if my smartpots arrived yet, busy busy.

TODAY, DAY ONE GERM.

*in the past i didnt have the best of germination rates with the mighty mites, but hopefully i can get better results this time around.. we will soon find out.

good luck with your grow, looks like a nice spot you got and good idea with putting them in the ground. if you can only make it out there once a week, that be a big risk with out really knowing how much there going to be drinking. i wouldn't be surprised if they need 2-3 watering's a week specially in full bloom.

we used to grow mighty mite back in 07. we got the cuts from a guy out in Maine, he said they grow really nice outdoors and do real well even if started really early in the season or even late. he said they do well even in the cold they didn't get super tall but were really nice and bushy.

^^ good info on the mighty mites thx... As for water, knock on wood tho, i shouldnt need to water at all the entire season, mabey a few times in late summer, but other than that it has never been a problem, and ive grown some pretty large plants in the past.

I've never buried bags like that, but to me I'd want to keep the bags in the holes but just cut a few big holes in the bottom. This will prevent competing plants and trees from sending roots into your cannabis plants root mass and will also concentrate the nutrients and water effectively to the plant.
The soil below the bag will stay moist between waterings and with an extra couple of holes in the bottom the plant can send taproots right down to the slightly more moist soil.

hello, are there wild hogs in canada? once had a place in the woods but they ran all over...
for the holes...id pull the plastic out, if the plants are getting huge and theres a dry period u wont be able to watersupply them, the only reason i see to let any plastic inside ur holes d be if the sourrounding dirt is extremly acidic but cant imagin that from seeing ur pictures in that extreme way that it d effect ur plants,
all good to u and keep it up
