I have a whole basement which I would love to use but I can only have x amount of plants, and the whole electricity ordeal.
Then use it.
The bigger area will dissapate heat better.
Just board/seal up the windows, and with blinds or something so you don't just see plywood from the outside.

Why people feel the need to put a tent inside a room already confounds me.
If you already have a room, you don't need to build one inside it!
:blowbubbles:

P.S. Much easier to secure a basement vs. a tent.
P.S.S. Fret not with electricity. There are plenty of electricians on this site. If you have pictures to go with your questions, you'll get farther faster.

For a long time I thought the same as Rednick as far as the tent goes, however I do see the advantages. That being said, use the whole thing if you can afford to deck the whole place out. And if you are in need of an electrician, I think i might know jst the guy....oh yeah ME! HAHA. I have done many commercial grow ops wiring and if desired could give you a slew of references. Up here in FTC.
Does anyone here have the XXX OG, or triple OG? If so I would see what your cut looks like. I have been growing this for a minute now and getting it closer to dialed in. Just keep having the same f'ing Root aphids pop up. Spectracide is not the answer. So I got some Imidiclorpid, obviously only in veg, 2 weeks before flower onset.

Ace hit me up.

Peace

Thanks for the responses guys. You are right in the way of using the basement, only thing is that the laundry room is down there on the opposite side and I need part of it for storage that is why I am thinking a tent is the way to go. I have contemplated partitioning off the area with 2x4s and drywall, but I suck at carpentry.

I have lived in CO for 9 years and yet have seen a mtn lion. Every time I go hiking or even just a drive in the mountains I am always on the look out. ALthough I take it if I see one then I might be tsol if I am hiking.

If it's not a rental I often build fake walls...

I saw a news story on that dude.... Turns out his real life is actually pretty interesting.

Welcome to the neighborhood! I let those lions out every once on awhile to scare the locals..........

Why thank you, glad to be here

Got our dog's attention all right,
today she is looking for her mile walk so I guess the coast is clear
(if you see a old guy walking a dog today beep and wave)

Prior to the year in Sonoma County we lived in the Timberline-Horsetooth area
and in 4 years we only saw one fox trucking down our street

We have been here since Feb and so far have seen
Elk, deer, fox, rattle snake, eagle, hawk, and now a Mt lion
and this was without even looking, just going about our business
It's not like we live up in the mountains either, we are just barely outside of town

We have lived coast to coast and we are so happy to be here

Fake walls would be amazing, but with my shotty carpentry skills and that this is a rental, from someone in the family, I would just prefer a tent. I am also looking into the fabric to make a tent but same story as the carpentry my sewing skills suck too.

Seems like the only thing I am halfway decent at is growing, and that is everchanging too.

Got a few things to mull over, and would like to get the electricity situation worked out and on first.

My basement partially flooded last night and my tent pretty much saved my grow.

I have a simple, economic, easy to assemble set up

ten 2x4s
3 old flat white sheets
box of push pins

picture.php

(end sheet removed to allow view of frame)

lights can move from left to right as well as up and down
flat white sheets can be moved to reduce or enlarge your lighted area

renters - the whole thing can be taken apart and removed in about a hour
if you get 24 hour notice from the land lord that they need to enter
(I know this because a former landlord refinanced when rates fell
and a assessor had to enter to take photos)

whole thing (excluding lights obviously) a little over 20 dollars
A little more if you need to send the wife out to buy a couple sets of new bed sheets
because you are steeling the old ones - hahaha

Once we buy another house
I will set up a more permanent room
but this works very well in the mean time

speaking of grass, I need go go mow ours

Nice job, the only improvement I'd suggest is getting a few roll-down blinds to replace the sheets, they are super-cheap at Home Depot. Then line the blinds with mylar. The blinds can be rolled up and down easily to access the garden.

I like it
and it's still quick to break down if ever the need be

Thanks for the tip

1" thick foam insulation sheets are nice to work with for temporary-permanent structures (If that makes any sense).

4'x8' sheets, reflective on one side (I still use mylar), light weight. You can 'frame' them with furring strips to make them more rigid/permanent but it is not necessary. Insulate sound and temps. $20.

Maybe I'm working with dated information
I was always told that flat white was the way to go for even refraction of light
