2011 in the tropics

Thought I'd share some of the tropics with you all, going into winter...
This year after a really heavy and unproductive wet season, I have gone for a multi srain approach as the weather has been so unpredictable.

So far we have:
(thai x duckfoot) x duckfoot - me
z99 f2 - Moonduck
Lao Prabang - Gypsy
Sensi skunk
The Pure - TFD
Skunk Haze x sativa - ?
Local Sativa cuttings and seedlings from bag.

All are outdoor and being grown with love in soil with organic nutes.

Hope y'all enjoy the show!

tagged may you be blessed with big fuck off sticky buds mate
and a nice dry finish hehe :)

Apparentley I have the brain pheno! She's been F...ed by the earliest male that popped. She's not as quick as some, but that head...... The odour has devTeloped but took it's time.
I have picked an early one which was close at 6 weeks outdoors at a tropical latitude. z99 by the way.

The rest - sensi skunk leading the way for vigour, with Gypsies Lao P. a tall second. Have found a great male SS to cross with the Lao.
A bagseed sativa female crossed with duckfoot male, then backcrossed with duckfoot male has come out with some greaat vigour.

Thanks for the blessing Squigs.

Good luck mate, hope you have a dry season, looking forward to seeing the Ducksfoot Thai, Z99 and Lao Prabang. Kanga said they're hermi prone, but the tallest plants he's seen - 20+ footers!!

Thanks for popping by Bushie. The atmospheric humidity here is perfect atm - hovering around 50%, nice and dry for the tropics.

The DF Thai are only small, but look just like their fat daddy. I wanted to keep that structure, but add some oomph from the thai.

The z99 are just beautiful - vigorous, strong and stinky. A really special plant. Unfortunately they don't get real big for me, but i'd love to see a 6 footer.

Yeah, those Lao Prabang.... I recon they could take out the prize for greatest internode length. 2 feet high and no side branching yet, just straight up and down, 4 inch internodes. Hopefully I'll get some with little or no hermi characteristics. Want to cross one with a big fat Sensi Skunk.

Soaking some Super Silver Haze x White Widow (10), Flying Dutchmens The Pure (10) and some bag seed found in the middle of the busiest road in town (I'll call it Brad).

Have had a Sensi Skunk split in two naturally at the 5th internode (ie 2 tops). never seen this happen before. Anyone?

Gotta love this cool dry weather.

8/10 SSH x WW, 10/10 The Pure (as expexted), 1/4 B.rads so far popped.

Sensi skunks are looking very sturdy with great vigour. Lao Prabang wins the prize for the longest internodes, While the Skunk /Hazes look really nice - great vigour, resin glands appearing on the leaves after 1 1/2 wks flowering, and nice curly pistils. Z99 isn't far behind the bunch in terms of size, but I expect this to change once they start flowering.
My local sativas are performing very well, outgrowing everything vegetatively ATM, stretching for the sky. My favorites are the little DF x Thai - cute little things with broad (almost round) leaves, with the largest showing faint pink hughes in her pistils.

Unfortunately none of these plants will end up real monsters, except the lao and the local sativa. Days are getting shorter, but winter is a good time to grow here. Nice and dry and cooler than most think.

Will post pics tomorrow i promise.

Thanks Squiggles.

News in today is that at least 2/3 Lao are girls (or thai girly boys - they look like girls, but it's not till later you find out they're NOT).

All of the B.rad 4 have popped, which makes a grand total of 22/24 sprouted.

Also chucked some not perfect looking Thai/DF seed in the veggie patch and wouldn't you know it, about 3/4 of them popped as well.

Happy days ahead!

Did I happen to mention I need a new camera? Any ideas, anyone?

she was 8 weeks old in this pic
the police raided me the very next day :(

brief update:
sensi skunk and z99 finished. some nice phenos in each. all gone(im'm a pig sometimes).
stressed all remaining lao to show hermes, left with one straggler.
the pure doing nicely, but slowly.
local sativa powering away - expect a few oz off her and some nice seeds.
White widow/SSH showing a mix of phenos, nothing amazing though.
The B.Rad ended up being one male and one female. Nice colours but a bit slow.
new additions have included white rhino, mandala safari mix and cannacopias deep chunk x bc roadkill skunk.
the dc x bc looks promising as a breeder at least. the others at this stage are a bit ho hum
