I have the key, now i need to find the lock..

yea i tried overcomplicating the shit with EJ nutes. needing to mix up a million bottles, then let it bubble for a day or two... pain in the ass. now i use GH micro and bloom in coco, top fed drip to waste. i change the rez once a week, never had growth, or healthier plants ever before.

Absolutely.

However I wasn't talking organic.
;)

Just so that you know I wasn't looking for an argument or suggesting that you didn't know this. I simply felt like this point needed to be made in a thread dedicated to KISS ideas and concepts.

I keep it simple too, small complicated grows are ok if you like to tinker constantly. Only big (ish) grow I've seen that was really complex was Doubleds over at the farm. MPB buckets (yeouch!) in a sealed room, with air cooled cool-tubes and AC with CO2. Holy shit! But growing 4# plants indoors witha 3 week veg =priceless.

Looks complicated but in reality all has been simplified (while retaining performance as much as possible).

I think there's elegance in simplicity. As it happens, Strainhunter and I use virtually identical ingredients: Pro-Mix, and Jack's Classic All-Purpose and Bloom. Examples of my grows/plants are in my gallery. In all honesty, after trying several Canna-specific nutrient lines and working with Jack's over time, I feel like this part of my op is set. This allows me to concentrate on other aspects of the grow.

Cool. I'm just learning my way and I'm using Pro Mix HP. Before I realized how far a compressed bag (bale?) goes, I bought a couple of them. I'll be using it for a while lol :dunno:

Wow awesome man! :jump:

Which strain is that and what was the average yield/plant w/how long vegging/flowering it?

Thanks! It was an Eva Seeds' Monster vegged for 5 weeks from seed and flowered for 9.5. Yield was close to 3oz; I can't recall the exact weight. It was a fun plant to grow.

KISS all the way...

I see sooo many threads where things are just so overcomplicated its not funny. Then things start to go wrong and they have so many variables they cant work out the problem.

Have a look at Phillthys threads. He just mixes up a simple mix and plain waters all the way. Grows fcking awesome dope!

If i find an exceptional plant i will reveg/scrog it and often hit the pound mark. With 400 watts in dirt!

Sometimes people just wont listen, you just have to let them go...

I still can't get over this one:

4ml/gallon Canna Coco A+B (primary macro system)
4ml/gallon Cal-Mag Plus (Calcium/Magnesium/Iron supp)
8ml/gallon Liquid Karma (Negotiable, but it helps keep growth healthy)
3ml/gallon Pro-Tekt (silicon supplement for strong stems)
1.5ml/gallon Hydroplex (PK supplement to balance out Macro ratios)
1ml/gallon Snow Storm Ultra (Resin enhancer)
50ppm of Big Bud (dry) (PK supplement to balance out Macro ratios)
5ml/gallon Bud Candy (Carbo/Mag supplement and resin enhancer)

I still can't get over this one:

I'm glad you like it... [/sarcasm]

It's all about control and understanding.

A "simple" formula will still contain a vast assortment of salts. I just like to design this assortment myself to better grow each particular phenotype.

Say what you will about simplicity. Yes, it works, but the maximum potential will be missed.

.

Even now, months after I wrote this little thread and reading 100's of others, I still have not come across how I could increase my yield away from my K.I.S.S. method.

Anyone?
