...Perhaps we could use a sunken subscribed forum or 'Secret Garden' where more serious/mature growers can congregate under a certain code of respectable behaviour that they all adhere to......This way valid and interesting posts cannot be victimized by new and/or agrovating members that constantly seem to want to turn threads into slanging matches........because posts within a forum like that would only be visible to those subscribed........

...the cannabisworlders and the overgrowers possibly could have their own sunken forums too, where they can feel comfort in being surrounded by their friends from the sites that were there just a week ago....

....I have made no firm descisions on this just yet.........currently I'm just trying to find the best solution for all of us.......so any input is more than welcome...

Well, I've given this idea that's been running about a bit more consideration. Wish I had not voted already, cause I'd have voted NO instead of YES.

I'm with Smokey on this.....it fragments and divides the site.

Sorry, but my view on this has changed having given it much more thought.

To make permanent separations into groups is SEGREGATION.

The institution of a subscribers area is as far as I think it should go.

There.....that's my

When I voted I was in the frame of mind that TEAM IC would be a sort of SUNKEN GARDEN. From what I've seen to date, SEGREGATION is what the influx has been attempting - the OG and CW loyalty adamantly trying to force us to change our home to mirror their old familiar sites so they will feel at home again. From where I'm sitting the only way to stifle this effort is a Subscription Access, Contributor Access, or Entry Foyer whereas new users are forced to learn how to survive in IC mag society before they are let out into the community to wreak havoc or join in our efforts to get back to growing - sort of a Halfway House if you will until they learn the ropes and how to fit in with our General Population.

I can't help draw simularitites from the real world - Communism vs. Capitolism, etc., etc. I wouldn't want to be in Gypsy's shoes for all the pot in the world right now, even it did mean drivin a Jag! No matter what he decides, it's a lose-lose situation and us old farts are just gonna have to deal with it. :badday:

I think this is a great idea.... they had the same thing at OG and it would help seperate the serious grower/member from the peeps here to just play....

EDIT: oneToke... man, you summed that up so perfect.... I can't help but agree with every word.... :respect:

I say Team IC is a great idea, and I think it should be synonymous with subscribers.

im in,im fairly new to ic and took me months to fit in! i know that sounds fugged up but,i almost cancelled my account because everytime i made a thread.asked a question, tryed to be funny, posted pics....i was ignored to a certain extent,no one knew me...no one replied to my threads...also i was a first time grower and knew zero about growing so,i decided to buy some seeds.my first purchase was from wws in og.
then,i bought some annac's nycd at seedbay,i got hurt at work the next day and couldnt pay for them.i pmed annac and told him my problem and he asked me to test grow some.i had grown out a few plants before hand and did a test..he walked me threw the germing, veggin, flowering, gave me tips on soil, hydro, organics, ect ect.he didnt know me from adam and spent several hours explaining to me the aspects of growing mj.his generousity, knowledge, genetics are top notch besides being a guitar player!!!!!lol..he told me not to quit ic and be patient and all good things will come if you be patient and give good karma, study the threads,be nice..very important!!!be nice...use the knowledge youve obtained and teach others the magic secret to great weed!instead of taking...give everything you can...it comes back to you 10 fold!!im still learning and since then ive been offered many test grows from many different breeders, currently testing h3adseeds g13xdiesel with about 5 days left before harvest.
dutchgrown has also helped me understand the way of ic ,shes the most patient person ive ever encountered and gypsy should run for president!!!yes...its a big business but, they both(dg,gn)will bend over backwards to help you with purchase, website probloems and understanding.one thing one should know about being a member here is....study the threads, study the sick plant threads and growers forum...be honest!.ive been fortunate to feel apart of this community now.most of the people here are just awesome.i love it here now...i learned to apply the knowledge ive learned here and its been terrific! i feel like i belong and happy i decided to stay. all you folks that feel like i did in the beginning...hang in there and learn all you can from the threads before you start posting your pics, opinions and do not try bullshitting...they can spot you a mile away...sorry for ramblin on...this site and the folks in it are my bro's/sis's and im very happy im a member..you will be to

:wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: I am starting to lose patience :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
I see IC'ers getting ganged up on in the swamped section (our little refuge from the storm).
I am finding myself hesitating to post because of fear from being attacked and engaging in a long heated battle.

Dr.longbottom is right about us segregating ourselves from OG before, when we came to this site originally, it was because of the community here and the postive atmosphere. Maybe we should have a designated area

I am just getting frustrated, and am starting to flip-flop on these issues. My anxiety is getting out of control and paranoia is contageous.

Peace

First off, Excellent post Sparo, nearly brought a tear to me eye... Stories like this are what make ICmag, ICmag. This is one of the reasons we are upset by the invasion/immigration, we see our small tight knit community growing out of control, Filling up with people we aren't familliar with. They are complete strangers to many of us, yet expect to be treated as though they have paid their dues. Many of us fear something intangible is about to be lost, and our warm friendly little town will become a cold impersonal bustling city.

I for one am tired of seeing ICmaggers Bashed for feeling this way, and expressing it. We have taken on a large number of guest, and new members, Most of which I would love to see stay and be contributing members of the site. The rest of which, Admin and Mods will deal with. There will most likely be alot of bitching about IC's heavy handed policies, and you regulars here know how quickly The powers that be can react to protect our home here, but keep in mind that The best for the community is behind every binning, banning, edit, and reprimand.

I think a subscribers area could weed out the serious from the trouble makers, and may be the best solution for those of us most serious about our community here.

I agree with you totally and would love to see a subscriber area. I paid for all four magazines. Why not help the site and have a subscriber section. I know i would be in and the money would be in the mail tomorrow morning. Nice post Head.
Take care,

hi folks,
thx gn,dg,lb and head......for the kind words....its like this in mho,if you start a new job...do you have the same benefits as a person with 5-10 years at that job? probably not...you have to put in your time, pay your dues,do the shitty jobs, work the shitty shifts, ect ect.same thing here..you have to pay your dues, put in time, work your way into the mix and earn the respect of your peers.believe me it was difficult but very humbling.ive learned way more than just how to grow mj!ive learned to control my aggression, learned to focus on my life and the true medicinal effects of mmj.its been a terrific ride and everyone that joins this community, puts in some time will be rewarded with a terrific feeling in your heart!and some great buds!!!basicly, theres a life lesson to learn on here and with some patience and hard work...you'll be able to spread the wealth with your friends, family.you can hold your head high and know your wanted..believe me...it feels great!
thx again

The problem is that too many of the new members are not coming here as new IC members they are coming as OG'ers & CW'ers and what they need to realise is that now your here you need to shed the old tag and try and become part of this place properly, if your old home is gone and this is your new one then you are now an IC'er
........now i hear we're gonna have sections for all 3 sites on here......soon we will be left with no identity, hidden away in some little outreach of the site while the rest is overrun.

I am worried this will make second class members of the refugees. I don't think that is right. But, I don't have the solution to the problems either. I think what I am trying to say is proceed with caution.

Well I joined IC not because of OG going down but I haven't been here long enough to meet the membership requirements suggested in the openning post. I was exploring around and saw this and wanted to see what it was and when I read this I felt I should respond as an fyi kind of thing maybe.

Because my first apperance here happened the day OG first went down one could say I'm a refugee. So from that perspective I thought I'd let you know that there were lots of teams over at OG and so I don't think many OG'ers would feel 2nd class because of a Team IC. In fact a more likely response would be it would encourage some sort of team OG to be formed here as many OG'er are very proud of some of the things OG represented.

As long as it was maintained as something like Membership requirements are meant as a sign of commitment as we don't want members who do not plan on staying committed to this forum. As opposed to we don't want any non IC'ers because we are better then you. Then I don't see that anyone could make a credible case for feeling 2nd class because of this.

Personally I think it's a great idea, we had things at OG like Team Fluoro, Team Micro, Team Hydro and many others. We also had other group threads that weren't so much a team theme but still served the same purpose. Which basically is to bring like minded people doing like minded things together so as to share tips, advice, concerns, questions, answers, etc. These types of threads if manage well build up strong relationships with people and this leads to numberous benefits both in terms of whatever the group focuses on but also other things because when people get close they tend to do things for one another and become caring and supportive.

So don't let fears of what others may think slow you down.
