Hot water from airstones? Ah you mean your airpump is getting hot &-or blowing hot air straight into your Res/tanks/buckets? I find using a dedicated fan on the pumps intake helps keep the pump cool & cool airflow into res/buckets. Some pumps get really hot, especially after airstones have been swamped/strangled by root mass. Nice trick that really works well for me! sorry if i missed the point. Any pic updates etc!

G'Luck!

yeah fuck the airpump didnt need it, what solved my probs was a bigger water pump.
the point is airpumps can really heat up the water, nullifying any benefits.

I find its because they either get too hot(from constant running), backpressure from roots swamping airstones or warm air from the grow shooting directly into res through them, a dedicated fan on the pump is a really effective fix, can almost control res temps by moving closer or further from Pump/intake etc, works well ime! It solved that issue for me! This point may help some, try it n see!

Obviously you fixed that issue Cyat by chucking the pump, another way of doing it lol! I find some pumps are better than others concerning heat, performance! (my old Kam-Air 70 compressor got hot, causing solution temp issues, dedicated fan fixed it instantly)

Any updates/pics etc brotha?

G'luck!

hey bro 2nd run w the machines. Seem about equal to the big coco pots. gotta get it more dialed to really tell.Had root aphids and serious gnats this time.
I think the biggest impact on yield is the strain. the lvpk is heavier than both blackberries, by far. The coco bubba could give the lvpk a run for the money. Classics's berry widow and jacilyn are gonna yield nice too, I'm drooling to try the jacilyn.
Heaths v3 and black rose are comin along cant wait to see what they'll do.

can you see Heath getting 76oz from that one chiesel plant? what sort of yield did you get with the first run... are you using the same light setup as heath too... as in one bulb in the middle and 1 either side on a flip flop....

thanks for the replies its nice to have some one who has first hand experience and who is using this system... :D

I too would love to hear about numbers and a smoke report of your blackberry, because you said it is different from than the all crystal no high version I've run.

Laylow, if Heath says thats what he got then yeah I believe it. From my extremely brief talks with Heath, the fact that all of his advice from his threads works to a tee, in depth pictures and explanations, and you can see is generous with his knowledge and inventions. I would say he's a stand up guy of the highest order. He went out of his way for no personal benefit or gain to send me seeds. When they didnt arrive, he still stilled gave it another try and they made it.
I don't run a flip flop or the same light pattern, but the first run with the huge bubba I surrounded it with 2 1k a 6, and T5 on top. plant was huge stalk was like a real tree 10 ft tall before bending it down and 6 feet around, thats wit 7 weeks veg,but..... I had help for a couple weeks, helper didnt know the ppm pen display said x10 an ran it over 2000 ppm till I checked it out, saved the plant and grew her extra long but the nugs were tiny from the burn. Not the fault of the system. This run had 2 6's on the lvpk, roots were strong in the rocks but barely in the water same w/ bb. Root aphids hit me hard, but they pulled thru. Gimme the roots I had last run and the balanced diet from this time the right strain ( heaths v3,black rose, maybe lvpk with full health, or classics jacilyn, or strawberry widow) and then we could see something.

Hey Hydro, the BB had a hard time from the aphids, the lvpk was more resiliant. Yield on the BB looks pitiful. The Lvpk yield looks good!
I usually get around a p a light, mostly less than more. This run is no record breaker, not the hydro or coco side, I'll be lucky to get 2 of 4k.
With all pk's I could see this changing. I see people claim 2 p's a light or more, never came close. I think it could happen with the right genetics though.
