Which breeder did the LEGENDARY Strawberry Cough cut come from?

NOT dutch passion....

I'm in socal and would love to get my hands on a legit SC cut...or at least some beans or something. I just don't know what to ask for around my collectives.

Anyone know?

I think there is more than one cut of this strain, and not from DP

yep the kksc is the strawberry as far as i've always heard.supposedly given to him by a farmer in vermont? if i remember the story right, supposed to be a strain from the farmer called strawberry fields which he crossed to a haze and that is supposed to be the makeup of the kksc.thats the cut rez used for his strawberry diesel and there are some very strawberry tasting and smelling phenos that came from that cross.always heard the dp version sucks

Lucky enough to have the KKSC... and she is distinctly strawberry... on the break up & the smoke... the odor will actually fill a jar with other more pungent strains... its more of a creamy strawberry, that subtly overcomes the others. Pretty cool.

Just that it is powder puff... ho hum

Dunno if it is correct, but that Bogue dude at Apothecary said he had made beans...???

is the strawberry cough used in Reservoir Strawberry Diesel the KKSC?

To the best of knowledge... yes.

And i have had some Strawberry Diesel that definitely has the Strawberry in it, which hints of Diesel... really good shit... but powder puff again...

It's more of a hazy strawberry. Moreso haze than strawberry, really...

If you're saying that you get fluffy buds with it then know that it's pretty much necessary to lollipop the shit out of branches. That will make a huge difference.

Nah... she grows nice & tight & dense... pretty damn strong overall plant for me... doesn't stretch out much... healthy green. Nugs are just great... easy, easy, easy... love the stuff for these reasons.

I just meant that you have to keep puffin on her... just doesn't hit that hard/long... she's powder puff... looks great dancing on the field, but it just ain't football... ya know? ;-)

Ah I follow. Although I do enjoy the smoke sometimes I've got to agree. Not the weakest around but she's also faaar from the strongest. Great morning weed!

edit: Anyways, to answer OP's question I remember reading that kyle got her from some guy in vt (as previously stated). The clone was small and kinda crappy looking, but he nursed it back to health and was very plesantly surprised. It's a fantastic work plant although I've always said she doesn't play well with others, meaning that while everything else stretches upwards the strawberry will stretch sideways into a bush. The lineage was something along the lines of haze x strawberry fields.

I'm full of hate!

good for you, your parents must be proud

sounds to me like the kksc cut is still floating around...think I'll be able to find one if I ask around at dispensaries or is this something you have to know growers personally for?

and it sounds awesome. I dont need to be knocked out, I just want to chill a bit as I work, and I wont complain about some stawberry cream smell :tiphat:

I was gifted some seeds from a friend of the original breeder back in 2002. Everything I grew from them was amazing. I popped the last seed in 2008 and this is the bud. It's still around and it's truly amazing smoke for the head. Slow veg and low yield but amazing taste, smell and high.

The plant in veg smells more then most in flower. As soon as I get it back in my hands I plan on spreading it around.
Oh,and it's ripe in under 55 days. One friend harvests it at 48. Let it go 60 and it will kick your ass. The smell in the air after it's smoked is like no other.

girls flag football... ;-)

You better keep searching those beans then brah, cus you must have the WNBA pheno or sumthin. My Rez DSD has been leaving people stoned for years now. 75 day = Killer Strawberries.

**edit

Just read your other post. In my experience with Rez's DSD the smaller faster flowering girls give off alot more strawberries. Very sweet smell, but don't have the hit of the Diesel. The ones that stretch 2.5 - 3 times in flower and become a big floppy mess are the winners, IMVHO.

pretty much my experience exactly. thick stems, lots of lateral branching, and probably <50% stretch with vertical lighting. tight smaller strawberry flavored nugs. no hazy taste at all imo.
also, lollipop the hell out of her or be prepared for lots of popcorn.

I can verify that is all true. The cut from KK is the original Strawberry Cough, the farmer in vermont you speak of, told me he gave KK one of the original moms, as KK and him had a mutual friendship in cannabis genetics. Although KK may have received the genetics some time after it was bred, i have no idea on this, he did get an original f1.

*On a side note that "Vermont farmer" had an unfortunate legal problem in the last year, so please keep him in your thoughts and send him good karma, he has made many contributions to this community. :thank you:

Kyle Kushman Strawberry Cough is the real deal. Dutch Passion is an awful imitation. SC has tight buds and incredible resin production. Smells like a jar of strawberries.

Rez made a KKSC x SD cross years ago and sold the seeds on C-bay. Best pack of seeds I ever bought. Wish he would do another run. Would sell out in seconds.

Rez are you listening?
