A crackpot theory on medical cannabis, prices, and our government.

I have a weird theory about the U.S. government and their complete abandonment of recognizing state's rights on medical cannabis. I will try to keep this short as I hate long reads.

With the economy taking a dump and the looming legalization or lack of enforcement in certain medical states the prices of the pound dropped all over the United States. Outdoor farmers were finding it tougher and tougher to move there warez. Even indoor farmers had to drop the price considerably over the last few years.

With this price plummet I feel the government had to step in. The last couple of years the DEA has left us alone, only going after illegal mexicans in the mountains and very illegal grows all together. Medical marijuana wasn't on the agenda. They knew if they don't stop the illegals a lot of that money leaves the country and goes down south to Mexico.

Now with the prices well below $2000/# of outdoor the government felt they had to step in. Now they can't impose a sales tax, but most of dollars made by a citizen pot farmer will more than likely be spent and taxed after it exchanges hands. The government eventually gets their cut. So what do they do to make a bit more money, rather than having a bunch of growers sitting on a worthless product...

RAID RAID RAID! They start raiding every medical state, including the well established California. The old inherent risk with growing comes back, driving prices up, and overall more money for the government eventually. Maybe they understand that this is a money maker and it keeps whole towns and counties afloat in certain areas. I don't know, but maybe they actually know what they are doing and they are the ones that will dictate the market by pushing out the illegals, raiding dispensaries and growers, and overall regulating the market and pushing the prices back up. They do the same thing with Cocaine. Cocaine is bigger money though and the cartels probably make them a shit ton of money! With some of the richest men in North and South America being cartel bosses, its hard to believe the government isn't making something off of them. This was just a rant, and will probably get flamed, but whatever

don't know bong but if they are helping the growers in any way it is probably by mistake. i don't really see a plan (that makes any sense) in anything the government does. that would of course exclude propaganda and utter horse shit, which i would argue they perfected decades ago. just one more chapter in the book of dumbfuckery..... That theory gives them way too much credit and foresight. As it is the government PRINTS money by the trillions. They don't give that much thought, much easier to run the presses than come up with the plan you outlined.

Also cannabis is going to be legalized world wide and the price will drop dramatically. No government deserves to profit off of cannabis. Those tax dollars they take in are MORE than wasted on PIG salaries. The PIGS aren't out helping support price, the pigs are out helping to RETAIN control.

Keep overgrowing the planet, but price will drop EVERY year with the outdoor harvest and will NEVER bounce back as high as it was, EVEN with input costs increasing dramatically every year.

Yeah I'm not sure either. I think they have not completely figured it out yet. They are still waiting for Big Pharma. I think eventually it will be like cigarettes you can buy it posses but you better not even think about growing it. In regards to Cocaine YES that is our goverments big money maker. I honestly feel the FED's are doing this shit on purpose. I will say one thing...one of my theroys is that State's are working with the FEDS in regards to trying to make clubs 1099 their vendors. They are data collecting. DO NOT EVER DO A 1099. you are slitting your own wrist's.

However, if they will put down they sold it to someone else and I report fake info I wouldnt mind 3800, but I don't intend on defrauding the federal government. Please read IRC section 280e. You must report 100% of that 3800 in top line and there ARE NO DEDUCTIONS allowed for costs. Your lights, electricity, nutes, rent, all of it is NOT an expense. Please pay tax on 100% of monies received or ELSE you are DEFRAUDING the federal government.

While every other capital investment may be written off when incurred under section 179, you may NOT deduct a single penny for your equipment or other expenses.

Have fun NOT defrauding them as they DEFRAUD you.

1)I WILL NOT FILL OUT A 1099 for cannabis.

3)I want nothing coming back to me saying I cheated my taxes. I don't want to be in their pocket ever again.

That is pretty much all. I am trying to stay low key. I don't want a high profile so I just stick to the old donation system.

I agree with you pal. the price drop means the over growers are winning. I could care less if the price drops in half. if it is legal I will just grow 10 times more, and start my own chain of pot shops.
