is a crossbow considered a firearm by the feds?

As we all know, firearms tack on serious time to a grow bust. But what about crossbows? Does anybody have any knowledge here?

I understand black powder firearms can be owned by a felon. Check with a damn good lawyer cause I ain't one.A cal. 50 cap n ball might not penetrate but ole boy gonna leave a mark.IMMHO

i like arrows over firearms . i have both compound bows and crossbows. i like my crossbow best.been an avid archery guy for over 20 years. i got a tip for my crossbow that opens up to 1 1/2 inches upon contact.great for self defense gut shot . there aint much chance of surviving.

So crazy a person i know was getting robbed (for pills) in his home the other day, long story short cops get called and show up and find his shotgun which he doesn't have the registration for, they take it away and don;t charge him with anything or ask why he was getting robbed, very strange story......He also didn't understand how the safety worked the other day apparently and put a hole in his ceiling (he must be glad he lives on the top floor) surprisingly cops did not get called for that discharge.

Haha I'm gonna suggest he buy a cross bow next time i see him

Gotta switch out from my compound this year.It was nice too see it still hangin on the wall when my good friends in law enfrorce carted off all my 'firearms',even black powder.

No problems. I think any age limits would be imposed by the store

Other than a bitch to reload, - SLOW to reload, not terribily accurate - only one shot,,, - which is a big problem when the person you just shot,,, KEEPS COMMING.

Keep in mind,, most animals shot with an arrow, bleed to death - which is not a quick death. - Which can leave time for them to beat the crap out of you while they bleed to death.

And then there is the problem,,, Crossbows are not the favored weapon of bad guys, and fuck I hate being undergunned.

I still contend gun control is hitting the target, and an armed socity is a polite socity.

Residents of the people's state of cali land may want to disreguard the above opnion. Or move.

I guess I should clarify that I don't know if "firearms" is the designation feds use here. Is it just guns, or shit, is it weapons? I think it's guns?

i can reload my crossbow pretty quick . and as far as accuracy mine is very accurate . i would only need one gutshot and the bolt would continue to the spine and your toast .i do agree on most shots are bleeders and would give the victim of the shot some time possibly . all i can say is practice alot dont expect to be a great shot without hours put in practicing. i dont practice much with the crossbow as i need a new target the bolts go right through my compound bow target LOL ooh ya and if you want accuracy for sure use carbon bolts and arrows they put aluminum to shame
