Limited Supplies:( Help!

Hey guys! Im a newbie grower lookin to get in the game of growing for a friends and me, but i have a problem. I really really really wana go organic but im havin trouble finding organic nutes(i apparently have the worst location to find anything, i have searched everywhere). i dont really wana order anything to my house but i can possibly order a few things like bat and seabird guano and kelp but i cant promise myself that. i can find a few things at the local lowes, home depot, and walmart like peat moss, blood and bone meal, earthgro humus and manure, mushroom compost, and plenty of organic topsoils, what type of soil can i make using these? also i am using compost teas would a tea with just bone and blood meal and molasses be sufficient for my plants if i cant get the guanos? also the only perlite i can find is the miracle grow with plant food, would that be okay or should i search for pumice? Thanks for any pointers in helpin out this noob! Goodluck in grow 2011!:blowbubbles:

I'd make one of the mixes in the organics for beginners sticky in the organics section of this forum

get out your phone book, you remember those right? if you don't ask someone over 30 years old
the phone book has alot of advantages over the internet, the biggest being whatevers listed in it is local

in that book, look up garden centers in the yellow section or lawn care/feed stores. if your local Lowes, Home depot, or walmart doesn't have something the garden centers or feed stores will or can get it for you.

Did you read what I posted in ur other thread on this topic? Sounds like u got almost everything u need to me. Use teas for beneficials. Bone won't do anything in ther use that and blood in ur soil. U can use manure or compost in the tea if u can't get ewc. Don't use miracle ggrow food. Find something else for drainage

Dude. You are not going to find organic nutes. Sorry. It can be done, nobody has put it out there yet. My dad quit Nursing management to come up with a line.

Since when did Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes ever carry anything Organic?
I have to get my shit from the Hydro store...It's cheaper out here than the Garden Centers.

Just get shit shipped to a friends house. You just need one friend to help you out.

get educated! seriously, hang around Jaykush long enough and you'll wonder why you ever wondered where to buy things when they are for free all around you. Even where I live now, I am recognizing some of the characters from "weeds of the northeast". I'm not sure I should be using city weeds for ferts, but it's still cool to get a reminder that nature respect no boundaries.

perlite- perlite is bullshit anyway. all it does is take up space. Seriously, that's ALL perlite does. You can replace it with any number of products like pumice, floor-dri, espoma soil perfector, rice hulls, buckwheat hulls, ETC... They will all do a better job than perlite. Check my thread "perlite and beyond".

it makes shit lighter too. 40 gallon pots are pretty easy to move when its 30-40% perlite lol.

iGrow 4 Me - what type of environment are you in? if your in a city, what is the closest natural environment and how far?

so basically if i cant find some perlite i dont necessarily need it? could i add more moss and a hair more lime for the added moss? could i add mulch? mulch is easily accesible.. read up on your thread gave me some inspiration:dance013: i have read many jaykush threads he gave me a ton of info:)

Ditto if you got land you have, or can grow everything you need on the spot.

what type of plants grow there now, when you say farmland does this mean flat and dead for miles upon miles?

Don't use the cow manure straight. Alfalfa and horse shit. I've yet to try the floor dry...Jay is right about the perlite for weight though. Saves some effort in moving. MG perlite to my knowledge is their 1 product with out nutes other than their organic line. Both are so-so. A lot of powder in the perlite. Espenoza, available at HD or Lowes is not a bad product. EWC can often be found on Craigslist. The Farm& Garden link, at least in my area. turns up all sorts of grow equipment, nutes, ewc, even clones and medical.
If you are growing outside in soil you won't need perlite, guanos or anything fancy. You're not dealing with the limited capacity of a pot.
