What's new

Vertical first attempt

D

DHF

I`m in awe of the "stump" in the empty bucket next to the GDP....You showed yer ass on thisun AH.....now....

We`ve gotta find a way ta keep any nugz from gettin scorched/light/heat stressed next run and keep yields/gpw`s up there...

Respect my buddy....glad your lil fast hydro setup brought it on home for yas....

Looks like you`ve set the standard fer "weed doughnutz" on yer first run Bro...keep up tha good work...

Are we about ta see a 3 lb pull ?....I know it`s gonna be on up there ....I also know if all those plants were GDP , it might`ve gone over 3 lbs from the look of things ....

Peace....DHF....:ying:.....

Thanks everyone!!

Thought I take a sec to throw up a couple pics of some RB nugs drying 5 days, going into curing jars in a few more days....

Oh, yes the GDP bush is a beast but the stump in the pic came from the largest RB lady, she was more massive then the GDP. I am kicking myself because I took pics of her before chop but had the wrong iso set on the camera and almost 60 harvey pics came out too grainy to view.... I will make up for it with dried bud photos...

Thoughts so far while trimming,... The RB's and the GDP are going to carry the CM's weight wise... I'm bummed about the CM, seems to be a strain that requires more light than most. They are pretty airy and soft nugs except the nugs very close to the light, The CM's are going to hurt the yield, had I run all RB's or GDP's, I would be looking close to 1.5 gpw on a first run....

I really have nothing to complain about overall, harvey is not letting me down but I can't wait to run proven vert strains..

Don't get me wrong, I bet the CM's are awesome under 1k flat garden, but they are not for vert and bare minimum lighting. I really needed more light than I ran for this grow but the RB's and GDP didn't care...

Weed doughnut or PC case, your threads never disappoint AH. I can not wait until your next run.

Someone should set up a poll...I lost track of how many of us are going vert now because of this thread and all the great advice given in it.

That one pic is an inspiration! Ah! Their all great! And the observations are an adding learning bonus.

Excellent thread and grow.... Thx Aerohead
Can hardly wait for your next grow,a keeper too,I'm sure it will be!

It will be a little while before total numbers, but I thought I could give a little progress report because all the trimming is done!!

The first lady trimmed (the big RB bush) has gone into curing jars and will be weighed very soon.. There is another large batch of nugs going into jars as we speak but they are mostly CM with half of the other RB lady. The GDP is days away from curing, I want to make sure the nuggies are dried fairly before weighing.. I should have numbers from the first plant trimmed any day, somewhere around 9oz I'm guessing..

As for the chiller, nothing fancy, just a 1/8 hp chiller pulled out of storage from an aquarium.. Think I paid around $250 for it brand new a couple years ago. The chiller is small but I just need to make up for ambient temps with it because I'm going to stick with my super sloth slow rdwc rig next run too... The pump will be upgraded but not by enough to really cause temp probs... ( I think it's around 30 watts or so)

Aero this thread is amazing. To echo many other people this has sold me the vert idea.

Do you pro vert growers think I can stack two 600w into a dr150. Do you think I'll have enough space for ample plant growth.

Herb you got 60 - 70oz in previous grows in that DR150 with 2 600w lamps thats about 1.5gpw and you said if you had all C4D or snoe you could get even more... man i wouldnt change a dam thing in that DR150 if you got another space to try out a vert grow go for it but to change what you been doing in that flat garden is straight up crazy...

DHF planted the seed "pun intended" that ChemDog is what he used to grow and it was your grows that made me bte the bullet and order the Chem 4D's

The numbers are beginning to trickle in, I got dry weight on the first trimmed Romberry bush 9 days since chop ... She weighed in at 292 grams or a little over 10.4oz (she is the stump picured next to the GDP bush) Unfortunately pictures will follow because it's late and I'm tired. I also need daylight to get some better photos. Pics to follow soon...

I'm expecting the second RB lady to be close to 2oz lighter based on size and the GDP might rival RB#1's weight.... The CM is looking like it will take all three to break RB#1's weight, bummer..... But I am still very impressed with the overall results... I also looks like I will have more than 1/4 LB of larf that won't be weighed in the final pull. I see lots of edibles in my future....
