tap water issues.

so ive been useing water from my tap for years, i usually let it stand for a day then use it, these past few months ive been noticeing problems.

my ssh had rust on all its fan leaves, it was so bad it looked like soil stuck on them.

other plants have yellow middles on leaves and new growth, ive not fed them just put in soil, and used tap water, i did add some bonemeal to my soil.

i finally got a ph test kit through the post and found my ph was around 8! even after leaving it to stand, its never been this high,.

so now im adding citric acid solution to bring it down to 6.5 but i think ive shocked a few of my plants with the massive drop.

i first noticed that my skunk plant leaf tips were curling, thats how i knew my ph was out, now ive corrected it they are not uncurling will they be like this now for good or can i use them as a indicater for me having the correct ph?

sorry for the long ramble but i need to get this right. i got some pond water and the ph of that is still high around 7.8 to 8.2 its rainwater should i bring this down to 6.5 or leave it how it is.

ive just recieved some plant magic for hard water, this will adjust my ph level to. does the runoff come out the smae as the ph you put in or can it flutuate. thanks for your time guys. loving the site.:thank you:

I am posting here so I can find this thread later, as I am really stoned right now. But if nobody else explains this for you better then I will try.

But even stoned I wanna see pics of that rusty plant because it sounds like you have other problems to deal with. A plant shouldn't uptake more iron than it needs. But I'm high so maybe I'm fucked up too?
