Best Addition to your Room?

Best additions to my grow were:

Air cooled hoods
&
40gl reservoir with a Mondi pump connected to an extendable wand with trigger.
&
Airpots

The a/c hoods have completely taken care of any heat and humidity issues.

While the res and pump have taken just about all the work out of watering.

Airpots have increase my root mass which in turn has increased my overall yield.

I'm very happy with my decision to add these items to my grow.

De-addition.
Removing shit, was getting in the way, now I got more space. Simplified shit so it wasn't so damn complicated and clusterfucked.

So a few questions for you Lazy.

You're mixing in the MH bulbs along with your HPS to get the full spectrum, is that correct?
Yeah, I like using em about half and half.

What is a Dead Rez? No Beneficials?

Correct, running DM Zone or bleach to keep the res sterile. Works very well for me, I recommend it highly if you're running salt nutes.
I'm looking for something to mix in with my soil like promix. Is that what you're doing with Botanicare ReadyGro Aeration mix (coco/perlite)?

Kinda, I switched from using FFOF straight to the Areation formula straight, much better results and faster growth with the coco for sure. I don't have room or time to mix anything in my basement, and speed is of the essence when going from the chop to the next set of transplanting.
Have you noticed a considerable difference in stem wall thickness using the silica?

I have much sturdier stems with it than I get without it, so yeah I use it in veg through about week 5 of flower.

And I agree Ecoplus fans for the win. Very cheap and so far reliable.

Yep, and they move more air and are cheaper than Air Kings. Hate those POS fans!

I added a fan under the vert bulb...now there is a nice breeze throughout the room and it feels comfortable.

you lost more than half your air flow due to the 10" to 6" tubes.
Open it up all the way to 10' if you can and your temps will drop.
never never constrict your air flow as much as you have,
it does not matter how big your fan's
flow is, you still loose all that cash blowing in the wind
because you can't cool your grow correct;y.
How many bends and turns are in the air flow tubes?
@ every 90' corner you lose about 1/16 of the flow.
you may need a small portable ac to get it down to an
acceptable temp.
have fun

Thanx Tr.
Yeah, I figured as much. Its been a budget thing actually. At first I had two 6in, hoods, then upgraded to a Raptor XXL 8in. So now I need one more, and will open the hole to the attic to 8in as well.

So it will be a 10in S&P Fan, to two 8in Raptro XXL, pretty much inline. Just two short 80* bends or so to the filter and to the attic.
A/C is also in the works due to the upcoming summer temps.

This is the best addition to my room

Very good addition Chef, often overlooked. I love mine too. Thing will suck a golf ball through a garden hose. hehe.

Mitsu Mr. Slim. Best investment ever.

Hey guys/gals, please tell us what it is. A few things in the thread like the Mitsu Mr. Slim I had to google to find out its and A/C.

So just give a lil blurb after the name to tel us what it is. If I'm looking to improve my cooling (which I am) this will be very helpful and I won't just read over it.

I.E.- Mitsu Mr. Slim - 13K BTU AC

Mr Slim AC's come all the way up to 3.5 tons (1 ton =12K BTU) if I recall, they are pricey but get rave reviews everywhere.

Sorry, bud.

I have a dual zone Mistubishi Mr. Slim mini split A/C system. It rocks.

My flower room has a 24k btu unit and my veg area has a 9k btu unit. They both run off the same outdoor condenser unit and it's WHISPER quiet. I can't even tell it's running if I don't look at it and see the fan moving.

The 24k unit keeps 3kw as cold as I want it, I keep the stat set at 75 and my canopy never sees 79*F. Same with the 9k unit, keeps a 1kw MH and a 4 lamp t5 fixture as cool as can be.

Best money I ever spent. The install was pretty easy too if you're handy at all. I had a safe HVAC guy help me pull vacuum and charge it. Runs like a top. Came with a warranty too.

i beleive the warranty is voided if you don't get a certified tech to install it, or one that is approved by mitsubishi.

not 100% positive on this but i remember reading it somewhere.

Best addition- 2 Quantum T5 BadBoy 4ft 12 lamp fluoros for the veg room.

Best subtraction- Got rid of my Sour Diesel. It was stinkin up the whole neighborhood. Even with a new 8" Phresh filter.

maybe you should have replaced the filter instead? I've heard mixed reviews on the phresh filters.
