The lvpk is crushin the bb, but not a fair contest as they're all sick from root aphids.

love the room bro what do you find to be the best build you have made so far??? Im doing rdwc buckets... but im always looking to do upgrades to the system... i find air pumps while are nice if they get kinked it can fuck the whole system.... i like what you trying with pumps and things just wondering if you have any more tricks up your sleave???

I've been intrigued forever with RDWC, watched Mash-up and Heath do their thing with those setups and been dying to try.

Thanks budshot, yah doin better with the risers bucket was submerged too much, plus risers help u to get more water in the bottom tub.
Hey laylow you must be one of those water freaks huh? looks pink, hmmm.... :)
Poopy thanks bro. Best design was the first one with only one pump and two tubs. Need a bigger pump for my veg machines the pump is crap and the flo is too slow, just added airstones too the veg unit till I get a bigger pump. One upgrade i want is faster water flow.
Any tricks up my sleeve....earthworms in the top buckets to eat bugs and dead roots, we'll see what happens, if they live it works. What else...essential oils in the res so far lavender does no harm and smells good. Biofilters, aeroponic trees in trashcans, higromite instead of hydroton. I wanna somehow combine the tilted action of nft with rdwc to try and increase flow. ammended coco buckets with silica stone organics and wicks into an aerated tub of water with just h2o2 and maybe a small water pump or airstone. so much crazy shit I wanna try.
Gnat proof lids!
Thanks ips go for it
Might go all coco for the summer hard to stop tho

usually when i have root aphids there are also fungus gnats. my plants start to yellow and show all kinds of deficiencies... then root rot sets in. your plants look healthy.
i found that a combination of bleach, h202, and imid treatments is the only definite way to eliminate the bug/rot issues for good.
a little harsh for some, but in hydro there is not much time nor a preferable environment for beneficial bacteria/nematodes/organics to remedy a bad infestation. everything in hydro happens faster including bug infestations and root rot which is almost always lethal to the plant.

the quality of the buds have not suffered from the 3 products i mentioned above... although i am not just sure about the health implications associated in using "harsh" chemicals and insecticides on the medicine we consume.

mg75 thanks , ya they look healthy and have some healthy roots just not how they should be.yep got fungus gnats too lost a plant in the veg system too.using 1ml per 10 gal bleach and 35 % h2o2, got bayer advanced for the veg room, not gonna use it in late flower, just have to ride that out. I do coco too and have had ongoing gnat issues. roots in the flower room are destroyed, but good roots are out growing the bad one in the veg setup.Hopin the worms will eat the dead roots :)

FGnats breed fast, a buddy of mine was using Airpots recently, & it was easily the worse case of Fungus gnats ive seen(ever), they were all coming out the little holes, everywhere. That was Cocos too.

cant you get any BTI/MosiDunks/Gnat-off etc? Sticky traps & spray for flyers? thats how my buddy shifted em. After seeing what happened to him i wouldnt even bother using coco without BTI.

G'Luck!

Use DE instead of hydroton or just a little on top of hydroton, insects wont stand a chance..
Good work as always Cyat...

Hey guys thanks for the advice, I got em under control mostly by coverin the feed under more stones and pointing it down, sticky traps and bayer on the surface.
Scroger done bt(had bti upped the dose and nada still) and dunks before didnt do a thing, plus bt is a gene toxin used by monsanto in gmos, no thanks.
thanks billy but I use and have used silica stones in every form extensively and they dont stop gnats at all as long as they are wet, and with coco the small ones move when u water.I like the big ones but they cost alot like fuck.
Minimal gnats now, but minimal roots too. oh well the plants look great anyway under these conditions.
stay up

I thought BTI is a Bacterial toxin, It kills larve only. I also thought BTI was completely non-toxic to humans, from all the reading ive done on it. DE was a good rec too. Shread the little fkers.

Any ideas why the BTI failed for you man? not the first time ive ever heard that one?

The powdered d.e might work in coco when its dry(hard to keep dry) wouldnt apply in hydro, I do drink the stuff though
I hardly have any gnats left, just gotta stay on top of em.
dont like to bury the feed, like to make sure its flowin, but that seems to work
hookin up a 1200 mag drive for the veg room in place of a shitty 800gph pump, this should kick it up a notch.
I wanna see the water flow hard
Thanks for the info scrogerman, ya no bti for me. hows the h2o2 workin for you? I cant tell yet.
gota classic seeds widow berry veggin in the last bucket, from a reveggin clone new leaves and roots are forming
got some aqaurium circulation pumps to play with we'll see what happens

cool man, seems like you got it covered anyway.
Yeah I am a H2o2 lover, always have been, i find some nute lines work better than others with it, but its always been one of my first buys when im stocking up, for me its an essential, i cant tell you how many crops its saved me alone, never mind its multiple benefits.

After a day of using H2o2(24h approx), i always see a growth serge, very visible & unmistakable.(use with a full mineral based nute line only! for best effect ime), great product.
