Is it possible? I mean i know anything is possible. I just had never had this issue before.

Camera busted. leaves are yellow, and the outside of the leaflets are curling up. The leaf stems are very deep purple.

It kind of snuck up on me...

Any thoughts?

PICS WOULD REALLY HELP. If you need to fix a nutrient deficiency make up a week solution for Foliar feedings. This is the fastest way to fix the problem . You can use Revive I use it works for me.

Yup, Nitrogen is used more than P in flowering. It is very important. Also, Nitrogen can be locked out by other factors. This is more or less an infirmary question that you need pictures for and also fill out the questionnaire.

i guess i posted it here because it is a organic soil question.

use compost, AACT... i had a mg def earlier but magnesium sulphate fixed that. Ph is above 6.5 under 7. can i be brewing an AACT that looks closer to a veg brew to clear up deficiency?

Im going to keep going here. Organic soil go!

Well, we honestly know nothing of your plants or environment. You should at least look fill out the questionnaire in the infirmary and post it here. It would definitely make it much easier to identify.

I wasnt really asking ever for you guys to identify my deficiency. but thanks for getting offended at me for not filling out a questionnaire or having a picture. I felt like I could handle identifying the problem... take deep breathe.

I hadnt focused on N as a "something Id run out of" in flower in my teas.

Question was, so have you experienced a N deficiency half way through flower before?

Is calcium deficiency one of these possible other factors?

@ Krunch... thanks for chiming in, my book of description of deficiencies, it did not list these symptoms for calcium. in case under further investigation it is the problem, is there a water soluble calcium?

I have crushed dolomite lime in the pots, but I guess I'm under the impression that I was using it in the short term as a pH buffer, but that the calcium from it was not available in soil yet?

Ha Thanks Stankie. I think i have something worse going on here than senescence. I did experience exactly this with my outdoor last year, the natural yellowing.

What your post did remind me of was that the plants currently in question are using the dirt from my new outdoor holes. Done in order to test holes for things they are lacking for outdoor.

I momentarily forgot i was doing this... The pots have composted horse dookie in them. probably plenty of N in there... so N deficiency as sign of other problem?

Which falls us back to calcium.

If my only addition for calcium is dolomite lime, how long until that calcium is available?

What can I add in tea for calcium, if anything?

Since this is a test run for the soil Im going to use outdoors, and I have time still before june, should I be adding more dolomite lime to my OD holes?

im not familiar with soil .....

i just know that yellowing and purple stems are classic symptoms of calcium deficiency....

Purple stems can also be P. No pics.......

What is your soil make up?

What type of water and at what intervals do you water?

Give some better details.

was thinking not P, because there is no brown necrosis and also every fertilise gets water soluble P in form of bat guano

Stuff in green is from another post, composition of holes... this composition was used for run in question to test soil, which is why we are here.

EACH Hole received:

- Black earth from each original hole (2nd year) that was removed to reshape. Holes are way bigger so require some more things.
- 2 wheelbarrows horse shit. From 10 truckloads free last year, now 2 years old. from the farms compost pile so some of this contained chicken refuse straw and poop from the chicken coop. mostly horse dookie compost
- 2 wheelbarrows Peat Moss. Cheapest way to get the properties I wanted. purchased in 1X 55cuft bale (800lbs) expands to 110 cubic feet.
- 2 wheelbarrows Perlite. again the cheapest way to get what I wanted. I will be organic. I didnt want perlite in an in the earth hole, but the holes are contained and are always reused so feel okay with it. purchased as 2 X 55cuft bales
- 1 bag of agricultural limestone (crushed dolomite) smaller bag each for calcium, magnesium and some PH buffer for the peat most put in there.

I Use R/O water only ever. I water at intervals of almost dry/wet... so when plant BEGINS to not stand up 100%, watered until complete saturation.

Thanks for you almost patience in my lack of pictures... Daughter super busted my camera, need replacement

That link from your sig is fucking awesome... Thank you and I am reading through it.

I will not fill out questionnaire until i get camera, maybe tomorrow.

thanks

EDIT: I am also new to Smart Pots. I will never be accused of over watering. Can this be from habitual slightly under watering... smart pots dry from outside in rather than top down...I know i need to be watering slightly more often because dirt keeps pulling away from walls... it ends up being way more frequently then the same sized plastic pot?

As far as to what you need you need to know the TYPE of soil you have in order to know what you need. Guessing with the horse manure you have a nice fluffy mix. With the perlite you could have went with clay pellets bought in bulk also.

To that mix I would add some rock powders and a few other LOCAL supplies to use. No need to order just hunt it down locally.

Other than that here are a couple of threads to check out. First is the thread dealing with plant materials you can get wild.

If your soil is shrinking noticeably you are underwatering.

A too dry soil explains any deficiency. With a very reduced level of productive soil, your plant may have some of the symptoms of bound roots.

I'm almost finished with my 3rd complete grow in Smart Pots. I still think I am under-watering. It's Blumats next round!

Nobody was offended, especially not me. You asked for the communities thoughts on your problem and we were giving them to you. It sounded like you wanted help identifying a problem. When having a problem with your plants most people just fill out the form from the infirmary. That is all. If you didn't want a diagnosis why did you ask for our thoughts? If you were seeing if anyone else had your problem, you should be a little more specific at best. Sorry for offering my help. I see you have it under control so you don't need anybodies help. Peace!

Maybe the search feature might help you in quest, if you don't want others to get involved.
