IronFerro,

CO2 is not needed in your grow room and I bet most people don't even have CO2 hook ups in their closets/tents/rooms. Co2 won't hurt tho by any means and with it you will be stronger growth and better yields. If you search around her i am sure you'll find a DIY method to making CO2, also they sell a product call Co2 boost buckets that work well for people seeing what it's all about.

good luck

wow that's quite a wrong statement. For closed systems, c02 IS required, or the plants will suffocate and grow very poorly.

For open systems with fan/filter, fresh air (and co2)is hopefully coming in and replacing grow room air at least 1x/minute.

Rather, we should say, supplemental CO2 levels, beyond the usual atmospheric levels, are not required. Obviously, suffocating your plants in a sealed room is not going to work out.

If you're still on a tight budget, then CO2 supplementation is not required. CO2 is only going to be of a big benefit if all other enviromental factors are at optimum. Basically, it's the last thing you need to upgrade to. The cheap tricks for boosting CO2 levels are just that: Cheap tricks. Get everything else dialed, and set it up properly, and it will pay you.

Otherwise, you'll just be pouring money down the drain. Probably in the form of yeast and sugar, heh.

I learned long ago that exchanging each room`s fresh air twice per minute supplied all the CO2 my plants ever required.....but .....

As said above , with sealed rooms there`s different parameters to work within for dialed results.....

Point blank , plants eat CO2 and shit Oxygen lights on......Lights off , they shit out all the excess CO2 they didn`t metabolize as well as raisin RH from the transpiration process....

IME....Sealed rooms need elevated temps to best take advantage of either CO2 generators or tanks with regulators and controllers for the extra cash outlay....

Not many success stories from elevated CO2 ppms over the yrs , but there`s folks that swear by it so....

The only wayta know how well it works to increase yields and finish times is to do a side by side with all things being equal ....

All depends on the environment yas provide for optimum plant health indoors....CO2`s in the air we breathe at amazingly higher concentrations than most folks realize the closer yas live to major metropolitan areas....

I`ve used major air exchange/extraction for well over a decade and have always done over 1.2 gpw`s per setup , and 1.5 with the last 3 yr vertical rack runs with no supplements but dialed conditions...

My 2 cents from all those yrs....

Good luck....DHF....:ying:....

Thanks for all your input, i think I'll wait before supplementing with CO2. i actually had a tank when i did an indoor soil grow didn't really pick up a difference though. Now that I've switched to Coco, it was a big investment to switch over and get started, ill wait b4 adding co2.
