I know what you mean about vigour, the HP2's i took these from are over 4 ft tall in my room, completely out of hand, but hopefully the stretch is stopping now :O

My mold experiment was a mixed bag.

I trialed

1.greencure/neem spray with aloe vera as a sticker
2. chamomile tea bag spray (organic of course :smoke: )
3. H202 (food grade 35% , available on ebay) diluted to 5mls per litre.
4 Plain tap water as a control

I sprayed once and then left them on my deck.

They all ended up molding out at about the same time...

But that was because i left em with the mold on and didnt pick it out i reckon. Plus i got a bit lazy and didnt spray again.

However by then i had a good system that saved my best plants from any significant damage. I would go around picking the mold out with my right hand and holding the plant with my left hand. That way i wasnt spreading the mold around. Kinda like an Arab wipes their arse... The 'wound' was then sprayed well with the mix of H202 and chamomile tea with a spreader/sticker (in my case aloe vera dish soap)

This defo killed off the mold. It could be seen days later all dried out and yellow with no more fresh spores.

Indoors i am using the H202 mix with about 10 drops of grapefruit seed extract i got on ebay. Great stuff! Havent had to pick out the mold. It just dries up and will fall off with the lightest touch. But thats got a lot to do with it being dry and not too humid i reckon.

I used it right up to and even after harvest on some spots with no burn/residue.

Next season my mold control will be:

1. Start weekly sprayings at beginning flower with chamomile tea and aloe vera. A seaweed based tea would also work well.
2. Once serious flowering starts i will spray with neem/greencure all over weekly and after any heavy rain. This will have the added benefit of killing any mites/aphids etc
3. Spot control with H202/grapefruit extract and 'Arab' technique

However the best and most effective control will be strain selection and site selection. Maximise direct sun and try to keep away from backberries etc. They will rot and spread the mold spores all over. My plants on high ground (above the berries) and in full sun were much healthier and had bigger buds.

I highly recommend the White Rhino. She finished up at least 4 weeks before any other strain and is an awesome smoke and heavy yields. Got 6oz off each of mine and we had a very Scottish summer :smoke:

O yeah and being in pots was a big part of that early finish too...plus they were the first out.

Good luck!!!

They are hempy buckets in coco. Perlite in the bottom (i have sworn off perlite now, prefer diamatecous earth). Setup on a drip from a garden tap and top dressed and fed organic teas.

Works well and by far my biggest plants this season.

Hey JGP have you thought about wrapping your fencing in clear plastic? I did that with chillies this year and it helped a bit. We had our coldest and wettest summer for a long time.

Mossy looks like your going to be busy the next few weeks, goodluck m8.

Silver nice to see you trialing mould preventing techniques goodluck with it.Theres no need to wrap my babies in cling film as we have a blazing heat wave here.

A heat wave in Scotland? Well you certainly picked a good time to put your babies out.

I am planning next years grow already. Got a clone of that baby in the pic and hopefully she will make a good momma. Plus i am going to put broadbeans in my patches as a green mulch and to stop the grass taking over. I have been advised now is also a good time to add dolomite lime. :smoke:

Wheres the best place to get Esbe's seeds?

Nice to see your tooled up and ready for battle rocket :)

I've heard mattocks are amazing for digging and shifting soil, never seen any in local shops though.

Mattocks are great but yeah can be a bit heavy and bulky.

I really like the army style foldable spade. Especially when set up at right angle like a mini pick/mattock. Turns over soil real fast and accurate, easy to use kneeling for extra stealth also if thats an advantage. Very light and takes up very little room and is super strong. :D

For those big stones/clay soil a nice heavy pick axe or mattock will do it in no time.

That looks ideal Rocket, might try one nextyear.

Silver i have one of those folding army spades, there not much cop for digging large holes TBH, it comes in handy for planting out time though.

Good spot Mossy thats the biz .. EX Nato. Now that won't bend on you in a hurry thats for sure you could also put a full sized shaft on it for extra digging power...GGGrrrrrr
