Holding clones in stasis? (the refrigerator method)

I really like the suggestion about those green bags. Gonna have to give it a try.

I have a question.
When I take the unopened ziplock out of the fridge and into normal room temprature, how long will the cuts be alright?
Keep in mind the ziplock bag is closed the whole time and the time would be less than a day.
Will they keep for this long at normal room temps?
Before prepping and placing in a cloning tray?
And what about a light spritzing of h202?
Would that help keep them viable?
Thanks for the great thread!

What if I place fresh cuts in a bottle of water & change the light cycle to 12/12 would this help in discovering if the cut is a male or female?

After few days in the refrigerator if the cuttings are complete dehiydriert, they are very limp.
The cuttings can are kept as 4 weeks in stasis right?
Or my cuttings go to hell already?

well, I think you need to read the thread again, and realise plants need water (or humidity) to survive.
so where's the water in your case? why are they not sealed in a ziploc bag?

Mhh, they lie in a flat box with a lid. So are air-tight, as in a zip.
On the cover (inside) is enough moisture in my opinion.
They should be solid, or is the "extreme" sagging normal?
I should provide more moisture?

...i mean no offense grasshopper and neither did exploziv but as you have no actual experience with this technique i'd say your 'opinion' isn't what you need, ...what you need is advice from some one of US who do have some experience.

...and exploziv was suggesting to you that if you went back and actually read the thread and just apply what has worked for others, they just might could work for you too.

...i personally put my cuts in a bunch so i can wrap the cut bottoms in a moist paper towel, then i take that neat bundle and put it inside a ziplock bag and put that bag in the chiller drawer at the bottom of my fridge.

...i've had good success with this method for several years now with the caveat that after 4 weeks the failure rates begin to go up.

I just put small clones in 1 lt pots with soil, in a fridge with TL's on 1 hour of light every 4 hours, they will not flower and you just need to water a little every week or so. I have kept them alive for more then 9 months. When you take them out of the fridge you need to be carefull as the plant material can get all dried out, just put a plastic bag over them for a few days, and remove slpwly, partialy at a time. Maybe you could do it with rockwool instead of soil, but I have not tried it.

great techniques.. I have done it with water.. and soil.. they both worked great.. I just haven't needed to go longer then 4 weeks.. I also tried rooted cuttings.. and had a few hermis on strains that normally wouldn't?

I'm bumping this still useful information from 2004 post of mine when I was posting as the entity I.M.Boggled.
This Technique is not currently relevant to me and my current practice of growing Auto-flower Cannabis exclusively.
The cloning of an auto flower is not a practical thing due to its predetermined autopilot timing and growth pattern where the plant generally starts to flower within 30 days of its sprouting. Auto flowers were not an actual available genetics thing in 2004.
