dude u inspired me to make my own. I got 32 aeroponic trays each one holds 4 5inch netpots im thinking about mounting 4 trays per wall and creating a 1kw setup similar to yours. this is the coolest shit ive ever seen on ICmag. way to go bro shit i could setup 2 of these.

I was hoping I beat fred to the party...LOL Oh well.. nice simple design, whats to go wrong???
best of luck.
Find the right plant and you'll be on to a winner, If I were to play with your design I'd try to increase plant numbers on one wall and see what difference there would be in yield/wall.. "plant numbers = Yield"

Very cool setup, going to watch this one for sure... Been working on something similar in my head....

Good luck...

Thanks for the props! and im glad you guys can see potential in my design. By all means copy away! Overgrow the planet! Thats my motto!

yeah man, this is ballin.' intelligently designed !

Is that one sprayer enough ? Pictures are telling me yes, must be a good amount of pressure going through those emitter right ?

Do you think having the runoff flow down a closed black tube instead of the open white one will prevent algae/pathogen growth ?!? Or am I being ocd ?

I really like amount of oxygenation here, low pressure aero in the buckets and then runoff acts as a waterfall oxygenating the res ! Should help pathogens at bay, yes ?

n def 1kw or 2 6's.

I tried the 800 gph pump and the spray pattern was ok but i wanted a little more pressure. I found the 1200 gph worked great and soaks the whole inside of the bucket.
Also in my original design i used 1/4 inch tube to sprayers plugged into half inch poly tubing. That was a disaster! and it leaked everywhere and the 1/4 inch tube wouldnt support that many sprayers. I immeaditly scrapped that method. I needed at least 1/2 inch all the way to the red sprayers for it to work, and this is what i came up with. Not a single leak.

Algae? So far so good. The res is completely covered and gets no light, so i dont think there will be a problem.

Im new to vertical growing and need some pointers.

Should i Top, FIM, or Supercrop?

The plants have quite a bit of room ( 10 inches i think).

Should i lollipop? I already trimmed most of the plants 1/3 the way up the stem?

What exactly should i be aiming for? single buds? or small little bushels?

Thanks for the help...:tiphat:

If your bulbs go LOW enough you shouldn't Lollipop, (see Aerohead thread) he got a LOT of good buddage from LOWER branches due to hot stacked bulbs producing nice buddage from top to bottom. I made not of that so I may not Lollipop next time for MORE buds. A lot of people pull all the fan leaves and anything large that blocks light from penetrating other bud sites or if leaves touch each other. I forget what they call this because I am sitting in a parking lot waiting to get loaded for a trip to Michigan and have been here for 6 hours, thank god we are charging these bumms $100.00 an hour to sit here.

DHF and others have said once they flower (and depending on the strain) they will stretch quit a bit, are you going to think of using a trellis to train the buds, kinda like a vertical SCROG? I do that and it works great!

Good luck this should be a fun thread to follow!

Thanks alot mega! that was a great thread to read, and gave me a ton of knowledge. My hats off to aerohead on a great success!

Everythings lookin good goin into week 4 and the buds are starting to swell. I took a few pics but the yellow lights dont do any justice. I will wait till lights out and snap a few and post some pics later.

Im building my other walls (pain in the ass!) these bitches are alot of work!

Im moving to a new location in a couple months and this is where i planned on actually running these vertical racks at full swing.

Im debating wether to go sealed or vented at my next location.
I have all the equiptment to go either way. Except if i do go sealed i would need to install a mini split.

For you guys in socal?????
Im in san diego. Does the ambient temperatures in this area support a full 2 times per minute air exchange and keep the grow within the right peramaters? I run lights at night.

My current room is sealed with c02 and AC , but after reading up on this forum and alot of what DHF writes.. it sounds like it may be better just venting properly?

Pics as promised. 28 days in flower,,let the fun begin.

Well now ya can't have much cleaner of a build than that, now can you? Looking good! Can't wait to see them finished...

Thanks Bobblehead!!

Need some help from all ya keen growers reading... Im moving in a couple months and im seriously debating changing the new room to open venting. My current room is sealed with AC, and co2. The yields have been good and the room is very stable, but the problem im finding (especially running aero) is im constantly battling high res temps.
I run the room at 82 -84 max, and that is the highest i can do before the reservoirs start to climb up in temps and problems arise. And in reality 80 would be best before i start to see root problems. But running at 80 seems to defeat the purpose of running co2 , right?

I want to make things as simple as possible. Sure i could invest in a chiller and cool the rservoirs, but that would defeat my ultimate goal of getting the most from the least. (Heaths motto)

Im thinking maximum air exchange! And putting my AC and co2 in storage.

Or setting up the new room to run both? (in case my ambient temps dont cooperate with venting /air exchange) which will cost a pretty penny, i would need to install a mini split at the new local.

Where im at the temps from late july through sept get up in the 90s, sometimes 100s. The rest of the year is very mild 70s.
