Would an ICMag iPad app be possible?

Hello everyone,

As I use my iPad more and more I am noticing more and more of the message boards I frequent are releasing iPad apps geared towards quicker browsing and interaction of their message board.
On apps for other themed message boards I can now get notices right to my app lobby letting me know I have private messages, thread replies or even photos shared to me on my personal page.
This saves me lots of time navigating their sites and stayin in contact with my friends there.
Most sites, that I am using, have posted these apps for free but I would be willing to pay a dollar, as say server fund donation, or two for a functIonal IC Mag app.

What are your thoughts?

:thank you:

Sounds great, but I'm not an Apple developer... if there are any Apple developers, PM me and let's see if we can work together on something.

Rip off! Should be free!

by Brian in Texas You can't view just any forum. This mod has to installed on the forum side too. None of the vb forums I use are listed. These people don't show a list of existing clients until you buy the app! Total bs.... I want a REFUND!!!!! This app should be free... Charge the forum owners for the mod not the users!!!!

by Forum Runner This app is one of the worst. I want my money back. These kind of apps will keep people from buying other apps. It is a bad deal.It is worthless. Somebody should be in chArge of screening these types of apps. Dave

Happy,

sounds like this might work if it was installed on the server and tweeked, but I'm not sure that a universal/general program is something the ICMag Admin guys would to install on their server and risk that someone elses program effects the ICMag server in a negative way .... just my opinion though, they would have to comment.
The reviews are pretty mixed.

As I stated above, most of the other boards I frequent (sailboats, music, electronics, science) have their own dedicated app for their respective boards.

Ultimately, if it's a universal or a dedicated app I don't have a preference. It would be nice though if I have to buy the app that the money would be going to the board I am frequenting instead of some random 3rd party... just my opinion though.

John,

Do you have an iPad? If so I could direct you to a couple of the apps I am referring too.

Thanks for all input on this subject guys, I hope maybe we can drum up some interest and find a few Apple developers to get this going, if possible. (sniff sniff ... smells of a potential contest? haha)

daheadies

poppin' outta control
OMG that'd be awesome!
more needed than a ICmag app is a bay app.
Make a option for f5/refresh automatically every ____ (user option) seconds.
woohoo!

Apparently GC ( grass city) has there own app available since march ... I'm not a usual user of their site but downloaded the app to try it out.
A simple forum interface and maybe a chat interface like someone else above requested would be all that I would need as a user. The simpler and more streamlined the better, IMO.

ICMag App Idea...

ICMag App Idea...

The other day I was trying to access ICMag on my iphone and it took forever to load and I got frustrated. I decided to wait until I got home to continue using this site. So I began thinking, why doesn't ICmag have an app for iphone and droid?? They can have ads which will help the company make money and if people don't want to deal with the ads, they can pay .99 cents for the ad-free version. How hard would it be to develop something like this?

I dont want Sprint, AT&T or Verizon knowing what websites I visit, especially IC Mag.
They are as trustworthy as a tweeker.
Might be OK on Wifi, but 3G/4G connections are not secure.
