Good question I don't think so.
Do you have a valid D license now?
if you do your suppose to get your Cal license within 10 days.
if you do have a valid DL. if stopped just say your visiting.
good luck

going to be going to school. just want to find a place close to school. I am terrified of driving so looking for something supper close with no lease. Kinda getting the meds right for anxiety and PTSD. Do plates take about the same time?

I wouldn't worry about changing your DMV info in till you find a place to live, if you get pulled over they want know if your visiting or not.

good luck getting a place without a lease. expect to pay alot if you do. on the upside san diego has a pretty good public transit system. hhaving nevada plates aint as suspicious as far away states as its the next state how long you can drive with out of state plates depends on how many times the same cops see you or your car.

UPS po box will do the trick, you just swap out po box for "unit" number. I know lots of people that do this and get state id's, car registration, mail, etc sent to this box or other boxes so nothing is tied to where they grow. License/state ID both have an address that goes to nothing. Does it take some time and is it an inconvenience, sure. But it also leads to clean trails and that is priceless. Best of luck.

Apply for a state ID not a DL. Its much much easier and yes you can get them with a PO box. Ive seen a few people that have PO boxes on their IDs. Only thing that kinda pisses me off a little is you want to come homeless...we got enough of them here bro, why don't you get a plan together...please. :joint:

:yeahthats

While you CAN get a DL and have your mailing address be different from your physical address, they require a physical address on file as to where you live.

if you change you Registration and your ride has ca plates. Having a different states DL will cause major problems even getting your ride towed ..

I moved to Oregon changed over everything except my DL. I got pulled over and was given all kinds of BS.. He gave me 10 days to get my Oregon DL or I would be getting a ticket...

What he said. Just make up a physical.

I don't use my real physical, the easiest way to be found....

@Midnight, No need to be a dick. Possessions do not make a man.

In CA they send you your ID in the mail...have fun getting it at your made up address...

The P.O. box isn't at the made up address, it's at the Post Office. Almost everywhere that I have lived there wasn't even the option of residential or rural delivery.
