Remember some respected animal charities and activists makeing fools of themselves on TV when this broke.

In February 2001 the FBI got involved and subpoenaed all information about the site from MIT. But its investigation came up empty when it found no evidence of animal abuse or of the sale of Bonsai Kittens.

Fuck you dolphin and fuck you whale.

Yeah, I agree. What have animals ever done for us, anyways?

Come to think of it. Fuck you Earth. What did the earth ever do for us, anyways?

That's what I ask environmentalists I see canvassing on the streets.
What did the earth ever do for us?

The difference is, there is no purpose in it. The fish in those bags at fairs are going home usually to children who will learn to care for their first pet. The fish in that keychain will die soon, and the Chinese will get a taste of their first fresh dead fish. I'm sure they won't go hungry at least.

have you ever gotten a "fair fish" they dont make it home...

they are the pet store and feeder rejects. deformed and diseased. their purpose is to get kids to throw ping pong balls at them for money.

OK, so the turtle dies in there and the owner places it aside, soon enough it starts to rotting building gasses & pressures that vinyl sack wasn't designed to hold for long.

at least a good handful of those idiots will be dealing w/a putrid mess.

Chinese zoos are the worst, their culture has little respect for animals.

Not many have respect for "animals" hence the emotions conjured up by the word "animal". Think about how we might say " He was acting like an animal" That's how we refer to all these creatures. At least insects are small enough to avoid us most of the time.

They're Beings. Just like you and me.

Also I'm sure western zoos are not much better. I saw one in Buffalo NY that was sad as hell.

This is pretty messed up, but not much different than the circus giving you a goldfish in a bag. How long do you think those live on average? We(humans) fight, eat, neglect, lock up, and breed these beings. We(humans) treat them like property. So I'm not surprised when I hear something like this.

Weren't people putting goldfish in heels in the 70's. Don't they skin animals for their car seats.....Well we let others do it for us.

I think it's fucked for the turtles, but in the end I see this as a non-issue filler article used to create a false sense of moral and cultural superiority. The US and other western countries eat and waste far more meat than any Asian country. But then eveyone pops a moral boner when they see poor foreigners slaughtering their own livestock.

Here's a Filipino pig slaughter. The pork there is a bit tougher and more flavorful, I'm guessing because the pigs there aren't completely crammed in slaughterhouses and actually have room to move and work their muscles. This pig undoubtedly lived like a king compared to a US slaughterhouse pig. Seeing this for the first time freaked me out as an 8 year old, but now I just think of delicious pork.

Whens the last time you saw that in an american zoo as a children's show? Not claiming our culture is completely pious but that's pretty fucked imo.
