Dimethyltryptamine.
easily extracted from Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark...
simple Acid/Base extraction should do the trick to get those alkaloids...

I had a 'natural highs' book when I was a kid.. they had all these in there, including the banana nonsense, and a few more, like making opium from a certain kind of lettuce. And I tried nearly all of them... dried banana peel scrapings make sparks when smoked, IIRC.

What a bunch of bullshit lies...

LSD is derived from Morning Glory seeds? How about LSA?

They also talk about salvia like it just gets you "high" no mention of hallucinations.

It's shit like this that gets people hurt.

If I've never heard of it then how would I be fascinated by it?? riddle me this. ah yes. i didn't read the link. who has time for that non-sense??

I'm pretty interested in that Yabo stuff or whatever it's called that they chew in south america. I think it's coca leaves or something similar.

Salvia was fucking intense. Basically the gravity path you walk on (forward, sideways, and gravity points you down) fucked up on me as i was laying down, so it felt that I was actually walking the correct gravitational path on my back, i felt like i could walk "forward" to the ceiling which was a wall. Since my friend was there, he seemed geometrically wrong.... all kinds of fucked up... Was hella fun.

ok so san pedro and peruvian torch both do infact contain mescaline - but the amount that would need to be consumed for desirable effects is rediculous/impossible for a normal/rational human being. believe me i've tried :biglaugh:
maybe some sort of extraction would be a better plan.. gonna go to all that trouble might as well spend that time finding some peyote buttons.. that reminds me :chin:

Not true. I GUARANTEE you're getting cuts of either mislabeled or known weak cultivars, especially when you're talking about Peruvian Torch dude. Trust me.

There's a member of the family in question (called Trichocereus or Echinopsis, depending on who you're reading) called cuzcoensis that looks like P. Torch but has a low alkaloid content profile, which leads me to believe that's what you might have tried. And with the common Trichocereus pachanoi (aka "true" San Pedro) the most common cultivar in the U.S. also has relatively low alkaloid content.

BUT-

If you have the right source that has properly ID'd stock, you won't doubt any more.

Also, it's generally 2 to 3 feet of [real] pachanoi that's required for one healthy dose of mescaline, while only 8" to 1' of Torch is required for the same. The word "generally" above is in boldface because with cacti the potency is a total fuckin' crapshoot - sometimes you might get one and eat 5 yards of it and only get the pukes - and sometimes you might get one, have 2 inches of it, and talk to God shortly thereafter.

If you don't mind me asking... where exactly did you get your pedro & torch that didn't do anything?

i got the san pedro from a home depot nursery in phx, and the peruvian torch was powdered that i bought online.. so obviously there was plenty of room for error.
that being said eating 2-3 feet of cactus, i simply couldnt do it.

Yeah, eating 3 feet of super bitter cactus isn't most people's thing. And the foreign powdered stuff is definitely hit or miss. Also, you never know what kind of nasty chemicals Home Depot is spraying their landscaping plants with.

Luckily there are domestic nurseries that sell more potent cuts.... :)

Try finding a 12" cut of Trichocereus bridgesii or peruvianus, make the tea (Google: Irishlion's Tea,) and then come back and let us know what you think. I believe you'll have new respect for the humble cactus.
