looks like a thrip (good pictures of bugs are a bitch aint they?) thrips can cause you problems but spinosad knocks them down pretty quick. organic too!!:)

Cool... (well, not really :( )

Thanks for the confirmation and tip, greenmatter.
Must eradicate!

I did a quick preliminary search on spinosad...
I'm sure the bottle will have instructions, but just to clarify, should the manufacturer's recommended dosage and application be sufficient? Or should special rules apply?

Thanks again, kind sir.

i used the normal dosage on the bottle and it worked great ....... FYI i looked at my stuff and the normal dose is 4 Tbs. per gallon ..... if strainhunter and i swtched the contents of our bottles and stayed with the same dosage, one of us would be watching thrips laugh their ass off while the other watched their plants burn .....i hope you are hearing me. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS read the label or the best advice can go south very quickly!

Montery Garden Insect Spray ..... got it off the shelf at a grow store, so i probably paid to much $24.95. strainhunter is getting a huge bang for his buck with the product he is using but i think that bottle will be killing thrips on the island for many generations.:) great deal if you can't run to the grow store ....... wanna trade strain?

look for spinosad in the active ingredients of whatever you buy and you should be good

ASAP !!!! don't let anything get a foot hold in your garden. kill them all as soon as you see them. that goes for any bad bug. you don't want to be dealing with critters in flower that you should/could have killed in veg. IMHO

i second the monterey
monterey worked great for me before
instant thrip death
and they had it for a reasonable price at the local nursery
and they claim its safe for fruits and vegies

good killing

part of a thrips life cycle happens underground from what i understand. that is what you are seeing.

Any more input is appreciated!

You've been told what they are.

And if they are something else I told you how to get rid of either.

May I strongly suggest to quit getting hung up on a relatively minor issue...because what are you gonna do if the shit really hits the fan?

I've been told they are two different things.

Don't get hung up on a relatively minor issue?
I'm addressing the current issue at hand.
What's wrong with that?

What shit hitting the fan are you referring to?

Nothing's wrong with that.

However you keep asking but haven't posted doing anything about fixing it.

Whether they are Springtails
(harmless) or Thrips (not so harmless) they both can easily be killed.

Springtails jump, Thrips don't.
Springtails don't live on leaves.

God forbid should you ever have especially 2 spotted Spidermites and you wait just 2 or 3 days too long your grow has strong potential to fail hence you always should have appropriate measures on hand and ready to go.
