Have you considered the possibility of using tungsten instead of titanium, whether the arguments against it?

hashmasterkut would be the one to ask on this iam pretty sure he did tests with different materials and he found titanium to be the best.

Thank you, I am very hopeful and confident that I will receive his comment.

Hi Hashmasta-Kut ! Please criticize my idea.

Titan is remarkable in so many applications, from medicine to aviation,
but I was confused discussion of white powder, titanium oxide, as an ordinary phenomenon.
Is it true that Ti is the best for your product?

Spiral filament heating and lighting fixtures are made of tungsten.
Maybe it is better suited for frequent heat and cooling?

I'm also curious to see HMK's opinion.

At first glance it seems totally sound. The mp is fucking twice as high as Ti! Although, this wiki statement is a bit sketchy:
However, tungsten interferes with molybdenum and copper metabolism, and is somewhat toxic to animal life.
It also said the LD-50 ranges depending on method of consumption. Still, I think it is worth looking into, as I did not check wiki's sources, and won't really have time until after the weekend.

Definitely my favorite thing to smoke out of. The bong is an old one but with the addition of the hmk a while back I've been using it more than anything.

Don't have any pictures, but for the glass heads....Micro Toro Circ to Circ with Alex K nail and dome.

Question for the serious oil lovers here: Do I have too much diffusion? All my friends are telling me I should get a new oil rig....as none of them have smoked anything green in that bad boy still. :)

i heard tungsten might be ideal, i never saw that info you mentioned trichgnomes. tungsten is very expensive, and when i looked to get some i never found it in a thickness appropriate, only very thin sheet seemed to be available, and very expensive. i prolly woulda bought some if i found it in the right thickness.

as for titanium dioxide buildup on the pad jump, this may or may not be true, no scientific methods have been used to test it that i have heard of, but most buildup on a pad is from resin thats partially combusted or not completely combusted. if one uses a water filtering method, any minute amount of TiO2 that may possibly be inhaled off the pad(seems unlikely, its pretty hard to scrape off pad crud), would be filtered out. i believe studies with rats they stuffed TiO2 down their throats in a tube and it gave them cancer, however the same report says human studies show no link between TiO2 and cancer. sticking a tube and pouring powder down ones throat is much different than possible pad buildup scenarios too.

I forget the name of the type of glass they use on this but it is made to withstand real high temperatures.... I love it! The only thing i dont like is cleaning it..... seems like there is no great way.

Borosilicate glass is the most common, however, some use quartz for their nails.

Quartz is good, better than Boro for your plate/nail. Much higher MP or working temperature than Boro.

But, that looks awfully intricate to be quartz, there is a reason they normally just make nails with it.

Then there is soda-lime glass, or 'soft-glass' as you would see with the 'offhand' glass blowers the ones that use a 'glory hole' instead of a torch.

If that glass curve is indeed quartz I am sure I know people that would love to buy the curve alone, or talk to the man pressing those.

I am like 99% sure that it is quartz because it sounds just like coarse which is what i thought they told me it was..... I have bad hearing. But i will double check with them when i go back for the 4/20 sale :thank you:

quartz is nice for its durability, but finding that ideal sweetspot temperature where your oils don't taste harsh and burnt but actually flavorful and sweet can take a couple dabs to figure out.

Ditto. Saw one of these in Colorado. They wanted $140 for just the curve. Yikes! The guy at the shop told me that the pad is indeed quartz but I believe the curve is definitely Boro. I have never tried quartz myself, and definitely wouldn't drop that kind of coin on one.

That being said, I wouldn't turn down a dab off of one of those. :dance013:

Hi ya'll!

A couple of thoughts on taste tests of cannabis oil!

I use an oil well and a wand, vis a vis the international HMK swing skillet standard, but the principles are the same.

Borosilicate and Quartz taste about the same, but Quartz doesn't eventually break up, as Borosilicate is wont to do.

A commercially pure Titanium wand however, adds a new taste dimension, in that it appears to more sharply present the different oil flavors.

All delightful, though some better than others............. It also seems to last forever! Hee, hee, hee..............

Ohmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Trichgnomes and doperoor are right on! Only the "puddle swing" is quartz. and yeah they are def pricey. It's always buy one get 2 half off so that and the fact that they make everything on site and will fix any broken glass for $40 makes it worth it for me :)
