National Cancer Institute scrubs “anti-tumoral effect” of cannabinoids from website

You may recall last Wednesday when we pointed out this incredible paragraph on the website of the National Cancer Institute at cancer.gov, on their general information about medical cannabis, touting its antitumoral effects:
The potential benefits of medicinal Cannabis for people living with cancer include antiemetic effects, appetite stimulation, pain relief, and improved sleep. In the practice of integrative oncology, the health care provider may recommend medicinal Cannabis not only for symptom management but also for its possible direct antitumor effect.
NCI apparently got a talking to from someone, because now that page has been scrubbed of any reference to the direct antitumoral effects of cannabis:
The potential benefits of medicinal Cannabis for people living with cancer include antiemetic effects, appetite stimulation, pain relief, and improved sleep. Though no relevant surveys of practice patterns exist, it appears that physicians caring for cancer patients who prescribe medicinal Cannabis predominantly do so for symptom management.
See for yourself:

Now this is an extraordinary piece of information! Finally the medical community vetts our constituent cannabinoids! For a serious concern too.

Maybe with this information being sent to everyone who is or may be touched by the dreaded cancers will capture peoples attention and turn their opinion toward the truth!

Celebrate this momentous occasion by sending this link to your congressman or senator. With enough exposure, this has got to change how cannabis is perceived.

This is almost certainly in preparation for either of:
- federal acceptance of medical marijuana; or
- the arrival of Big Pharma marijuana products; or
- something bigger, like Federal decrim (unlikely).

The most likely being the 2nd option (if following the $).

Won't help all of our brothers and sisters already in jail or facing court cases for growing this evil devil plant. Still great news though, the hard part is making the naysayers actually believe it.

How does this make sense???

How does this make sense???

In clinical trials of Cannabis, euphoria is often scored as an adverse effect.
Can someone please tell me WTF is Adverse about sick people experiencing a little euphoria???

Good read tho, very thorough and positive...and on a .gov site no less.

Feels as though something big is imminent,,,never seen canna in the news as often as it is, and in a positive light no less.

I am who I am coz I is who I is.
So what are the pharma companies developing?, or what are they planning is the big question.
Something to fuck over the genuine Breeders and growers who do it not for the money but for the love of the plant and to help the sick get better.

This page is going straight onto my bookmark tabs, now ive got the proof i need to show all the people i tried to convince about its anti cancer properties.

Big Pharma wants to protect their financial interests. I think we all know that!!! They want to market a product with minimal "euphoric effect" and a scalable dosage that allows for a patient to get the benefits and self-monitor dosage as they need it. In other words, a joint without the cough and the high. Pills and edibles don't work the same because you take it and ride it out. Unlike smoking/vaping where you can take a bit and then take a bit more when you need it. Well, edibles/pills work for some I know, but it is different than smoking. I bet we start seeing mouth spray products like sativex, or inhaleable delivery methods like e-cigarettes. Some patients don't want to get high. Some patients want something produced by big pharma. Some want their insurance to cover it... There is room for big pharma to play in this game. There will always be people who just want to smoke their weed though, so I think we are safe!

Part of taking mj for its medicinal effects is the getting high part generally...
I look forward to see what they can bring to the table, even though they are just strictly after profit, and screwing with peoples minds.

How would they take the high out of it, but keep its medicinal effects? would it just be tiny doseages, would those small non high doseage even do enough for the med effects? lots of questions and probally not very many answers at this point.
