There's an article called "Indica Madness" that somebody here had in his sig (scanned off a magazine.) It talks about the spread of Indica dominating the market.

I personally don't mind indica. I like having both. Sativas are nice but they take a long time to grow, yield usually sucks, they cause anxiety and paranoia, and the high is probably not very medicinal (it's not analgesic for instance. It probably increases pain sensitivity.)

I prefer a 60/40 indica/sativa high, though on occasion I like all indica or all sativa. I think the majority of smokers would appreciate SOME sativa in their bud and I know there are many smokers in the US who only smoked couchlock weed. It's sad going online and seeing weed newbs saying things like: "weed just makes you really relaxed" or "makes me sleepy and tired." Sativas would make their heads 'asplode.

I read this a couple years ago for the first time when Indicas were ringing strong in my mind...now recently found this a few weeks ago and it really reminded me of the sativa revival thread and really what people are perceiving weed to be...

I'm all about contrast
we need to do our part to rebuild the sativa contrast
its part of the whole
I'm not saying get rid of indicas but we need to realize and treasure the value of the sativa cannabis plant..

scary this was a high times article written in October of 93!!

honesty IC is better than OG was.

I used to talk crap about IC years ago but it was a much smaller place.

OG was like a cross between IC and grasscity. IC has lots of very knowledgeable folks, mostly adults, and very amazing threads. Travel threads, DIY threads, grow threads, etc. Its also very slow. Not a ton of action, not a ton of new posts.

Grasscity is like an echo chamber of misinformation. Tons of kids parroting bad information at each other. Lots of stupid questions, and stupid ideas, and very few people actually growing, or doing anything. But there is constantly new posts and threads.

Granted the quality of which are things like "Can I exhale smoke into a condom and just inhale it again?", "If I make my fishtank into a bong will my goldfish die?", "My mom found my stash!","How much weed is in a dime bag?", "What strain is dro?"etc. Quantity rather than quality.

OG had lots of great threads, and smart people, but it had tons of idiot kids too. The Growfaq was great because it helped sort the info from the endless stupid posts made.

People got mad when yummybud got banned, but the fact of the matter is its a grow site, and if people aren't about growing or something related they need to go. If you don't have that mentality your site gets full of teenage wasters. Thats what makes IC great, it attracts a mostly mature audience.

IC = Online grow college, if you've got the motivation to sit and read til your eyes bleed.

before I came here I was on another forum, looking back on what I learned here at IC so much false info was passed around on that other forum. There was no mix of opinions or fact based info, just a handful of heavy posters all regurgitating the same crap.

What's the most amount of windows to links to other IC threads you've had open at once? I often am going from link to link then back to the original to finish the thread then onto yet another link to a link...always learning and burning....IC is the best.

Hey how strong are we?

How strong is this community?

we always talk about OG being so revolutionary

but really it was just the vehicle the people is what made it come together

how tight knit are we here?
could we all make a big change or influence if we all really wanted to?

I ask this because I'm worried that the community doesn't take advantage of our numbers and our communications here...

I'm also worried that sativa varieties are being by far at a loss in the marijuana scene. INDICA and its downer charactistics have dominated...the indicas don't bring that thought provoking creative ecstasy that sativas bring..im afraid for our country becoming a downer cannabis nation and not having access to anything but hybrids..

im reaching out to community to get a feel for how strong we are, how strong we could be and to get your 2 cents on this as well..

thank you

Dam come to aussie man, the sativas are floating round everywhere man, its crazy nuts, mad old landrace strains that grow giant.

great question: no easy answer.
As a community we are strong but a house divided against itself cannot stand.
unless we can come together as one then as a community we will not move forward.
So we have the numbers, we have the know how. We lack the motivation. As posted the greed and the ego's are our biggest setbacks. So unfortunatley we are a community of individuals. Not a unified voice of reason and change.

Can we: yes we can.
Will we: will we?

here's my thoughts

some people on here have small to medium setups and normal jobs and/or families. This can be a challenging aspect of being part of The Grow Community, cause you have to weigh the "normal life" things you do against the "passion for Cannabis" that you have. When you live in a state in the US that is CRAZY, then keeping quiet always wins... Cause you just want to grow in peace.

There are alot of aspects that keep people quiet too. This is a hobby that you can talk to NO ONE about. Not like fishing and you can brag about a catch. You just quietly sit and enjoy what you do... Then when you DO share your passion with someone, you have to make up a LIE about it so they dont figure out that YOU grew it.

I like the seed bombing idea

Honestly guys the seedbomb idea was the idea behind "overgrow" but its really a bad one. They still do a pretty decent job eradicating the ditchweed in the rural mid west. The amount of plants it takes and everything makes it rather unfeasible, but besides that if they do pop up they might pop up where kids can find them, or just on private property. All that does is give people funding to fight what we do.

What we need is what overgrow actually began. Knowledgeable pot smokers. Smokers who know how to take $200 dollars worth of crap from home depot, good bagseeds, and then grow top notch smoke for free, and sell the overflow. Its hidden, not in peoples faces, and unstoppable. If 1/5 tokers grew their own weed the street price would be cut in half. And for that matter the price has been going down, and quality going up every since OG, and since the rise in numbers of cali medical growers.

I have no idea what the number of tokers vs growers who supply them is, but I can say ever since the rise of closet grown pot in the mid 90s quality has gone up and price has come down. The more accessible quality and easily understood grow info is made available, the more realistic "overgrowing" the system is.
