I really liked Nirvana's NL. Last time I ordered Papaya, they were sold out and sent me Misty and Citral as a substitute and freebie. The Master Kush is earthy tasting, but a real good all around high.
I still want to give Papaya a run.

Ive heard that papaya is a KC Mango copy and I didn't like the mango at all. Week and tasted/smelled like fruity armpit.

Sad thing is I had mango about 10 years ago and loved it. The stuff I grew was not my cup of tea, but some friends did like it and of course it would make great brownies. I'm sure the Nirvana is a little different. I will be interested to know how it comes out.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I wanted to take pictures before I started the next round of changes to the cab. Ive got some ideas I want to try. Pics will follow

Tilt,
I found my old hydrofarm light meter that has 2 settings (analog) and found some interesting information. I took measurements 3" from the light and it registered 145-150 on the high intensity/sun setting placed in front of the 2 tube visible angle. On the side where you only see 1 tube the reading 2 was 100. That was not surprising since the other tube was behind it. What did surprise me was how little impact the t12 had on the reading. There was no noticeable difference. I thought it would be noticeable but it was not. I had only had the lights on for 10 minutes and don't know if it would go higher after being on longer. I also don't know the difference between foot candles and lumens (my meter is foot candles). For anyone interested in your methods I thought this information might be useful.
On a separate note:
1. do you think a tightly sealed cabinet with a fart fan would be adequate to pull enough air through the tubes without the computer fans in an 8 55watt pll setup?
2. if the fan is at one end do you think the amount of air being pulled from each pll's tube would be close to an equal amount of air volume?

thanks,
jakeh

do you mean the t12 tube guard around the PLL on the FC readings?
Anti's pll adventure thread has some discussion on making a air manifold for the cool tubes. I believe 420ish has some experience in its application. I would hit him up and get his take on it.

1. yes with the right cfm on the fan. a fart fan can't deal with a scrubber though.

2. That would be hard to say a fart fan does not have a lot of static pressure so you would probably have more cfm going through the closest lamps.

I like my design. There is room for improvement. I see some leaf burn where the lamp comes close to the plastic and leaf rests against it (this could cause possible hermi issues with some strains not a problem so far). I have a problem of my temps being to low (69 to 73 degrees). The plastic is dirty right now resin and dirt. The tubes will probably need to be replaced soon. Getting resin off acrylic without scrubbing has been challengeing.

I would like to design a cool tube manifold that pulls air from outside the cab over the lamps then the ballasts dumps it back out with out having to scrub the air. I would have an exhaust fan with a scrubber for the rest of the cab.

"do you mean the t12 tube guard around the PLL on the FC readings?"
I just got confused by rereading my own post. Bottom line there is virtually no difference in lumens lost with the t12 tube guard on or with the t12 tube guard off. What I was trying to say on the 145-150 foot candle reading is when you take a reading from the PLL with the light oriented like this "U" it obviously gives off more light since the tube is belting light from both sides of the curved tube. Turn the "U" 90 degrees where you see just 1 side of the bulb "l" and at the same 3" distance and the foot candle reading drops to 100. I'm sure I'm over complicating things but I'm trying to figure out the optimal layout of the lights in a rectangle. For instance with 2 rows of 4 55watt pll's would it be best to orient the lights like:
1. U U U U
l l l l
2. U U U U
U U U U
3. l l l l
l l l l

As for the fart fan not being able to handle a carbon scrubber due to the static pressure Bluenath's thread on the panasonic whisper fan says that this particular fart fan can handle static pressure. It seems to me you would have 2 forms of static pressure. The first from the bulbs blocking most of the t12 tube and the second from the carbon filter. Whether the panasonic whisper can handle that I don't know. Again I think I am over complicating a very well thought out design. What you have designed is obviously not broke.

"I would like to design a cool tube manifold that pulls air from outside the cab over the lamps then the ballasts dumps it back out with out having to scrub the air. I would have an exhaust fan with a scrubber for the rest of the cab."

I thought about this as well. I was thinking of making the cabinet 48" high and cutting a hole on the floor of the cabinet and pulling air from outside the heavily caulked and sealed cabinet. No air from inside the cabinet would escape and you could set the carbon filter on a timer to ventilate the cabinet as needed. It would allow for co2 but again this goes back to over complicating an already excellent design. Thanks for the information on 420ish and Anti. I'll check it out.

Tilt, first and foremost you're a pioneer. Proving good bud can be grown with this light realy opens up the possibilities for those not wanting to go the HPS route. Go you beauty! :D

A couple of questions for you:

1. I see you're using mini treepots. If you wouldn't mind, can you give some more info about these pots? Where to buy would be a help as well as how are you finding the yield on these style of pots? I ask because I'm thinking of doing a combination SOG/passive wick hydro system in those size pots and would like some first hand user experience on them.

2. My cab is going to be a more traditional NGB styled cab with the utility room over the top of the veg/mom room and a large flowering room offset to those. What improvements to the ventilation and exhaust system would you make to your cab if you had to rebuild it again? Also, is your fan a pushing fan or a pulling fan? I want to really make a strongly scrubbed exhaust system and seeing your much more efficient design has made me wonder what would be a better tack.

Thanks in advance! :D

1.http://www.stuewe.com/products/minitreepots.php I got mine mail order. My yeild is between 4 and 5 grams average dry per plant using organics. Anti is getting 8 grams dry last check. The pot is only a part of the equation on yeild. They do get top heavy and will fall over too. I like them because they fit my footprint the best.

2. fan is pushing into a carbon bed ( look at some of the construction pics at the beginning of the thread. I would like an adjustable intake vents with a hepa filter. It would allow me to tweak the balance between static pressure and temps better. I would also go with a better fan and a proffesional scrubber if my budget allowed. My budget and the fact I built this while I was laid off and almost broke determined what I could do.

little update, I started 3 Nirvana bubblelicious and 3 papaya. Moist paper towell in a sandwich baggie on Tuesday. 2 days later all tails and shells (perfect germination) went into my new veggie tales mini greenhouse/cloner from Lowes. Ive managed to kill 2 trays worth of cuttings from my c99 f1s so I still don't know which are boys and girls. I did get one female from the 4 skunkman mix the rest males. She stretched like crazy but seems to be putting on a healthy flower set now.
