Thinking of using local soil...maybe?

No - actual 'suckering off' as described on any number of online cannabis garden sites.

I'm more than puzzled and stunned - could this be all about aloe vera?

I'm not noticing any change in the genetic growth pattern here. I do know that I have to constantly trim the suckers...thought it was part of the package.

I had my suspicions about Alfalfa and the triconatol affecting flowering.....backed off on it and didn't see a prolonged flowering as before.

I've also come to the conclusion that the Aloe has a "best if used at this time in the cycle" way about it.

Thanks for your input - as usual.

I'm thinking along some different lines (perhaps and maybe even hopefully) and when I have something remotely similar to actual science I'll post it. LOL

I'm 'hoping' that the increased 'suckering off' is a result of the compounds contained in aloe vera that are essential in the chelation process in the soil which has resulted in an increased 'absorbtion' of the necessary minerals required to effect increased flower development.

Make sense?

Are there any visible scars or damage from PM? Got a pic? Perhaps if there was some kind of damage those compounds affected the way it heals more so than a plant that wasn't exposed to them.

I'll drag out my camera and if I'm allowed to do so (as a 'junior farmer' and such - LMAO) I'll post some pictures that show what I'm talking about.

Having said that - the plants are as healthy as I usually expect even without the Tundra-Gro 25-1000XZ 'nute' I've been using!!! <snerk>

Thanks, as usual, for your help and advice.

Peace

This probably isn't the best thread/venue to post this but since you have said that you served in the US Marines (sorry about that, eh? LOL) and that you now live in Europe. I wanted to share my experience when stationed near Heilbronn.

There was this 'ghaust haus' (sp? - definitely) that was owned by a German woman who had been married to a US Army sergeant who had been killed in Vietnam. She took the money and opened up her restaurant and she was especially kind to young US Army kids like myself - extending 'pay day' credit and such.

It was a nice place to head over to on a Sunday afternoon to play some cards and have a nice 'schnitzel' dinner. Very nice indeed.

The memories of eating at Bertha's place are some of the best I have of Germany in general.

That and drinking wine on the shore of the Neckar River watching the burning of the castle across the river.

Good times indeed!

Sorry about that - it's been a long night into the darkness and I apologize.

Having said that there's this ditty I wrote 40 years ago on a road trip from India back to Germany.

"We're all anecdotes of non-freedom
Struggling with our minds to rationalize functionalism
Vexing the simplicity of our existence in the end"

Pretty high on Owsley White Rabbit along a desert road somewhere in Central Asia.

"May you live in interesting times........."

Well, my experience in Germany has been a bad one for the most part. I guess life is preparing me for the next phase as CC1 has said. My bady is broken and I have a liver problem. I cannot work like I used to. I remodel houses......or did. So, early this morning I go to Prague for a meeting.......to set up my new life as a grower and teacher. I hope anyway.

But some good memories of here...........I do like some of the beer even though I cannot drink much anymore. IMO the food ist nicht zu gut! lol

On the brighter side.......it might save my marriage. We will see.

Sorry CC1 for messing the thread up but I do know the Mod in this section if you want this drible deleted. He is an ass but does help out every now and then.

CC, try photobucket. You can use it with picturesync to shorten the process. When you write a message you clic on the "image" button, enter the url, and you are good. On photobucket, the url gets copied if you click on it once. Then you just paste!

Anyone have any thoughts on an exploding population of blind soil thrips and the possible connection to their bodies locking up N and other elements? What's their life span? I've read they eat micro organisms and decaying matter.....which is good in balance, but I've suddenly got millions. No adverse effects noticed.

5 weeks...man this organic recycled living soil that I only have to water without any ph'ing really must suck. Imagine the low quality and shitty yields. May as well just reach for the foxfarm...I give up. Plus all the bugs bugs bugs bugs bugs.....

It looks on and poppin Bro! :dance013: :dance013:

Bud size looks mighty fat. I'm at 4 weeks and my cindy buds look that big but others pale in comparison.

Soil thrip? Haven't heard of that one. Could you describe them? I would place money on a type of springtail if it's not a predator mite. Either way, I haven't had a problem with them locking anything out.

I tried vital earths compost instead of marwest and it came with some springtails. The predator mites don't touch them unfortunately but they have been pretty harmless.

Buds are building nicely. Once again noticing a brand new Hortilux has a big effect on yield compared to older bulbs. Yeah I think they are a type of springtail....no problems from them, and actually after the population went back up the plants looked happier. They are beneficials...just wondering if the population will reach critical mass and what that will mean for me if it does. I'm sure it'll be okay.
SC99 will make you consider ditching most everything....but the quality of smoke on some isn't worth the ditch.

Springtail population can be fierce lol.... with bodies making piles on the floor. lol Water and they fill up the water surface in the drip pan, then die, and there's enough that you wonder, what's that pile of grey dirt on the floor? lol

Now are you saying the quality on this sc99 isn't good or some other phenos?

This SC99 grows so well that it makes all other strains I have look weak. It doesn't seem to want much of anything. The buds are massive, full of frost and chunky. It vegges fast, flowers fast, and produces big time. The smoke is good and potent.
However....The One is the best smoke and doesn't ever yellow out on me. Mazar is also one I'll be hanging onto after some requests for more of this medicine. I like Blue Mystic, good smoke, decent yeilds, finishes fairly early..but the stretch is crazy. I have a female Blue Mystic x PPP that I'm hoping will provide bigger yields, hold that color and shorten the stretch at flowering. I think both the BM and PPP have the same daddy.
